Small tip for wildcamping in the forest take a small radio, and listen to it on low volume in the night it cancels out some of the background noises, pretty much all of them actually except for monsters.
Re: Leg muscles squatting with a backpack - I was hiking and had an emergency "wee" and squat behind a tree, didn't have time to get my pack off, and then couldn't stand up. Was I really that weak? No... my tripod was hung up on branches and keeping me down. Ended up falling forward on my face, into the snow, pants around my ankles, all to get out from under branches caught up in my tripod mounted atop my pack... urgh...

I agree . This channel was mentioned on the narrow boat you tube channel ‘ cruising the cut ‘. David used to be in broad casting and his channel is one of the top canal narrow boat Chanels - and he gives Camper Vibe a big thumbs up - well deserved .
The red light on your headlamp is so your eyes can stay in dark mode. Your eyes get accustomed to the dark. When you turn on a white light it can take like half an hour to get used to the dark again. Using the red light instead of the white light shortens that time.
The golden rule in camping is keep the fly screen closed at all times, some places have a lot of bugs and some bite. Keep all your things in the tent and be careful you don't leave food or rubbish out to attract animals. Buy yourself a fold up stool or chair so you can sit outside or a mat for the ground. Thanks for taking us along it was entertaining.😁
Hi loving this side of Camper Vibe My top tips for wild camping are Store your sleeping bag “ loose” the longer it’s in its cram sac the more loft is lost and the colder you will be when you use it.( pack it last unpack it as soon as your tent is up. Sleep with out your outer clothes ( you need to warm up your sleeping bag for it to keep you warm) but wear a hat. I could go on and on but I won’t boar you with anymore. Keep up the good work Best Regards Helen
Oh Lou, when I grow up I want to be just like you! Which is quite impossible since I'm at least 30÷ years older than you. Just a couple hopefully helpful observations. 1-keeping the door zipped on your tent keeps the bugs out. 2-in the US it is better to keep food away from our tent to avoid unwelcome visits from hungry wild animal. Like bears, coyotes, skunks and raccoons. We hang our food in a bag from a tree limb so they can't reach it. Maybe wild critters are not a problem in the UK. I admit I was a little disappointed that you didn't pack in your uke for a moonlit concert. Once again an excellent video by a talented woman. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us.
You guys are mental out there, I'm laughing to lousie that I'd be scared of spiders over here and there are you guys that have bears, wolves and loads of others to worry about, you guys rock
Yes camping in the uk “ wilds “ is quite different than North America . I live in canada and love camping but the last time I went tent camping 2 young bears kept walking through the camp ground at night . So at sundown the forest rangers came around and warned every one to keep all food including even tooth paste Locked in the cars or high in the trees away from your tent . The campsite next to mine was occupied by a solo female traveller in a small camper van and she told me how the night before she looked through her window and saw the 2 bears saunter past my tent - about 10 feet away . That was it for me - no more tent camping - especially since I am a solo traveller . I love the outdoors but would like something a bit thicker that 2 mm of nylon fabric between me and a hungry bear ( or chipmunk or other forest dweller ) So I started looking and found a vintage 22 yr old camper van . So this summer I will be back in the outdoors - but will be admiring the bears through the window !
@@sroberts605 HI S Roberts . My comment was not in response to your comment but in fact I was responding to the initial first comment . Yes I am aware that millennia ago there were bears and wolves in the uk and I believe there is even evidence of Mastodons in the location presently occupied by Trafalgar Square. All quiet interesting to be sure .
I used to have a similar-sized tent and, honestly, the best thing that ever happened to it was when my nephew nicked it to go to a festival because that gave me an excuse to buy a bigger one without admitting I screwed up. If you're doing a lot of walking, go for the smallest tent possible. If you're just carrying the tent from your vehicle to the camp, probably better to go for a 3 man tent to give yourself the extra space. Boots go in a mesh bag, hanging up in the porch area to keep them off the ground. Pack goes inside so I can use it as a "table", so my stuff isn't just lying on the floor (where it WILL, inevitably, get trodden/kneeled on eventually). Pack has a waterproof cover. If it's raining, the wet cover gets left in the porch and THEN the pack comes inside the tent. I guess you probably know this but the red light is intended to preserve your "night vision" and it doesn't attract bugs like white light does. On a related note, animals don't see colours like we do so a bright orange tent isn't especially noticeable to wildlife. They're far more likely to notice the smells and noise than the tent, itself.
Louise, you have NEVER done things easily, that's a big part of your charm. You should patent the boot cover socks. I love that you share your thought process. You're amazing.
I had an inflatable sleeping mat. In the middle of the night it deflated with no obvious leak so it completely FAILED in the one single job that it had, because there was no way I was messing about with that in the middle of the night. I didn't even bother trying to repair it, I just threw it away and replaced it with two small pads. You only need a small support and insulation area for your main body (and whatever clothes you remove put in a pillowcase is your pillow).
Get a roll of dog-poo bags - put your boots in them, use them for trash, use them for poo, use them over socks when fording streams, use them for everything. Head-torch red light = for walking around at night so you don't destroy your night vision. It was a must in my astrophotography class. Leaving everything out - I have dry bags assigned for everything so I know where it is at any given time, so I don't leave things out (then I can find stuff blind/in dark, because I know where it should be).
Just BRILLIANT on every level! Stealth camping in an orange tent 🏕😂 Fantastic drone footage, superb music and so much fun to watch. Well done on your first proper camping experience…👍 Michelle and Andy
OMG Louise, this was laugh out loud hilarious! Sneak camping in a bright orange tent - yes, get a camouflage cover...the boot bug covers will be great to have in scorpion country or on my boots in the basement (scared of bugs in me shoes)....keep up the wild camping commentary...it's like stand up comedy in the forest. xoxo
That's the way we used to do it. Little space kept tidy is a great place 😉 TOP TIP (learned in the army during winter time) Never sleep fully dressed in a sleepingbag, even less is better. Take all clothes you want to wear in the morning with you into the sleepingbag. Keeps all clothes warm and dry and gives a comfy feeling in the sleepingbag. During night worn clothes get humid and make you freezing in the morning after getting out of the sleepingbag 🥴 I'm practizing that now since 50 years, never felt cold in the morning 👍 Best part is to get dressed and feel instantly warm, so you don't have to rush for a hot cup of tea/coffee😎
I always thought you were so much braver than me Lou in where you park up in your van on your own, but this is a whole other level. So much respect to you for doing this on your own, in the middle of a forest! Excellent video as well, so entertaining. I love the caterpillar sleeping bag! :-)
K, I want to say, after 20-some years of back-country tent camping alone, there's something you don't want to do: goof around, like walking over a stack of logs. Continue to think, what would happen, if I sprained my ankle out here? if you broke your leg in a complex way? You can't be too careful, when you're alone. Even with GPS, it takes time for people to get to you. We luvs y'all, gurl, don't go gettin' hurt.
Great video. Get yourself a battery powered sleep pad inflater, the moisture in your breath will lower the R rating of your pad also an aluminium under sheet will reflect your body heat back to you, oh and a jungle blanket (they pack down small). They're all affordable and very available. Cheers Lou.
Very brave. Camping has changed a lot since I went wild camping about 4 decades ago. No blow up mattresses and pillows for us, just a sleeping bag on the ground. It’s so nice being in nature though. Birdsong always makes me smile and particularly after hearing Eddie Izzard making a joke about the song “A nightingale sang in Berkeley Square” He mused at how we all love birdsong, but it is, in fact territorial. What the nightingales were screaming was “Fuck off out of this square, it’s my spot”
Really enjoyed video brings back memories taking the family camping in tents. They all toped when they were teenage years, now they all have camper vans and enjoy it all again.see you all next week stay safe xxPat
Lou, you're the original Day-Glo stealth camper 😆 add the rave lighting and no one will ever notice, lol. Loving the drone shots and the little wren 💚 You can always buy a camouflage cover for the tent but in autumn it'll blend right in! Boot anti bug covers - genius!
Another great vlog. You are one brave person alone in a tent. I could not do it in a million years. I also suffer with migraines and I feel your pain. You keep us well entertained as usual.
Well done. Love the videos. Answers to questions Rucksack in or outside. Depends on space and weather. On this trip I would have brought it inside. Boots generally stay in the porch. Tidiness is important in a tent. It's so easy to lose items under roll mat etc. Generally take an item out the bag, use and return. Things like torch can be left within easy reach or course. Well done. Wild camping can be a bit scary the first time. Mark
When I went cycle camping I used a thick plastic drawstring bag like sports shops sell to keep my shoes in and carried one of those orange plastic survival bags to use over my sleeping bag if it got really cold. I also kept a pair of lightweight sandals ready for loo trips in the night and put water in my kettle for the first morning brew. If you need to tone down the tent colour maybe carry a lightweight camo tarp to cover it.
What’s not to love. Lou you are just a diamond, nuf said. Em’s we haven’t forgotten you. Glad you are both rebalancing and making sure your happiness is first - that makes you better ‘tubers’ we see straight through the ‘in a rut’ pretenders. Stay real we love it. Xx Amy Paul & Ted 🐾
When we camp we keep all of the food/cooking gear outside the tent, usually in a dry-bag so critters don't get curious at night. Would love to see how you protect the drone in such a full pack. Enjoy the new adventure style.
I'm an everything inside the tent kinda gal. Shoes go on a plastic bag - even on wet muddy overnight hikes, it works for me. Way too many bugs looking for somewhere dry to be - and a 'heads up' ... they can squeeze under the socks and get into the shoes, if they really want to... 😱😂 On cold nights, the electronics go inside the bag, avoiding condensation... (you probably already know) batteries/power-banks don't like the cold. To avoid/reduce bugs coming inside the tent, we use our red light when enter/exit tent. Migraines suck, good on you for hanging in there... More please!!! 😉😍
I cracked a smile the exact same time as you when you said I hate pricks, our sense of humour is the same which makes watching your vlogs so enjoyable 👍🦘🇦🇺🇬🇧
I keep my backpack and boots in the vestibule. No food in the tent. Food gets hung in a tree. Raccoons, mice or bears tend to get curious. The red light mode on the headlamp is to preserve your night vision. I sleep with my gear out but organized. In reality where I camp it’s a good 8 hours hike back and running off in the middle of the night is almost always a bad idea. My tent is bright yellow as well… easier for search and rescue to find me if something happens 😅
Having returned this Morning from an overnight in the local Woods, i know what you mean. I can't get enough of being out there, and it hits me like a ton of bricks when i have to leave. I love your Wild Camping solos, but it's your channel of course, so do what feels comfortable Friend. 🙂👍
Thanks for the video. I enjoy all your content, whether it’s van life, van remodel, or camping/hiking. I shared your channel with my 22 year old daughter because you guys always make me laugh and I know she will enjoy your videos as well. I am 56 years old but recently moved out of a city to enjoy small town life and easy access to bike trails, hiking and camping. Have never overnight wild camped but you inspire me to try it!
Another amazing video Lou. We just love watching your videos. You chill is out so much. Not sure if anyone ever says but your editing and attention to detail is so appreciated. Keep em coming. 😊
Haven't read all the comments so don't know if anyone else has mentioned or not that if your in your sleeping bag with all your clothes on then you won't get any benefit from the bag. It's your own body heat that gets trapped in the bag that then keeps you warm. If you have other outer layers on then they will stop your body heat reaching the bag. You don't have to be starkers but sensible. Long Johns would do or thin trousers and a t-shirt. You wouldn't wear you day clothes to bed at home. Exact same for sleeping bag.
Nice video Lou! My tent ends up full of junk just like yours, don’t worry about it. Genius use of the socks, keep fly screen shut whenever possible and never have a light on with it open.
Lou you are awesome ...had such a laugh watching and listening to you ...love the wildlife , scenery and the swearing 🤣 can't wait for the next one ...love to you and Em 😊xx
Funny, vibrant , full of life , so in touch with nature , inspirational - your vlogs are a mix of information and emotional content - happy happy happy . Have a great day Lou . Francis
Before the van, me n Lisa used to wildcamp everywhere. Deffo boots in the tent. It stops scorpions from hiding in Lisa’s boots. (Ask her how she knows). Pile of stones to throw at predators and of course food hung in a tree and eat well away from the tent. After 3 consecutive nights of bears at the tent we kind of got used to them. (Yosemite and Apalachian trail). And don’t pitch tent under a coconut tree. (Ask me how I know). And I agree your sleep mat is your friend. Looking forward to more of this.
I'll tell you something Lou, I'm impressed by your filming discipline and dedication. Capturing sunsets/sunrises and making sure you put the time into b roll 👍. It's something I need to improve on but your giving me a mental kick up the arse 😂. Great video again 🙂
Try not to sleep in too many clothes. Your sleeping bag needs your body heat in order for it to loft and work properly. Wearing a warm woolly hat is a must so as not to lose too much body heat.
I've never tried it but many campers suggest that the air mat goes inside the sleeping bag to keep you off the ground and to stop you from slipping off the air mat during the night.
Hi Lou What a great video.it’s arrived at the best time. I’m at home with covid at the moment, and for the last couple of months I’ve felt myself going downhill. Which is very unlike me. I’m normally very upbeat. Thank you so much for your positive posts. It’s given me the ass, to get back out there again. Love to both of you. Barry. ❤️👍
Get yourself a dry bag for stuff you seriously don't wanna get wet then keep your pack in the porch if you want to. Look at getting a flexitail pump with light too. You might wanna get yerself some naturehike down booties to help keep yer toasty. Also a katalyn be free water filter.
Jet engines throttling back for landing and USB cords on the tent floor kind of dilute the "wilderness camping" vibe but it was a great starter trip. Definitely show us some future excursions! Here are few procedural thoughts. - Bringing one's pack into the tent is a good idea if you don't have a weatherproof cover for it and something to elevate it off the ground. It's always good to have a pack cover for improved waterproofing while hiking. Do not bring the pack in the tent if it contains food or anything emitting a food like scent. That includes toiletries, sunscreen, lotions, antiseptics and medications to name a few. These items and your food should be packed in a watertight bag or container that is hung by rope from a tree limb to get it at least ten feet off the ground. Since the only bears in Great Britain are the fuzzy ones purchased at the toy store, five feet off the ground is probably enough. If you bring food or food smelling items into your tent, any number of critters will open the tent with the precision of a can opener to extract the items and show no remorse. - Avoid eating in the tent at all costs since the scent of spilled food is very difficult to remove from tent fabric. I once loaned my step daughter and her boyfriend an expensive expedition quality tent to go to a concert. The tenting area erupted in a food fight; she offered to clean the tent for me but I told her to keep it... If conditions are too bad to eat outside, confine the food to the floor-less vestibule and avoid splashing it upward. - It's best to bring boots into the tent unless they have a scent animals will be attracted to such as food, mink oil etc. To keep the tent clean, carry a small plastic garbage bag to hold the boots but roll the top down far enough so air can flow around them for drying. The sock trick MAY keep bugs out but anything with teeth or paws or both will make short work of the socks and your boots. - Don't worry about equipment colors unless color combinations offend your sensibilities. Most animals of concern are colorblind or have such poor vision they won't see your stuff anyway. Scent and to a lesser extent sound are the biggest attractants with animals. As far as other humans or law enforcement are concerned, prudent location choices like you did is the best safety measure. Keep up the great videos and above all STAY SAFE! 🚐❤️😁
This reminds me of why I'm going to be camping with a car... 😅 I am to old for that shit.. 😜 But then again, I live in a cabin in the forest, so this is like my backyard ... 😊 If you ever come to Norway, let me know, and you all (cat and dog too) are more than welcome to spend a couple of days.
Ah, the joys of camping. We keep our boots in the bell-end (ooerr, that's that porch). You don't want dirt and wet bringing into the inner. Clothes can be brought in. Sleep on them or put some in the sleeping bag with you so they are nice & warm in the morning. Good luck with your future camps.
Interesting roof. Be nice when the walls arrive. The sound of birds was lovely, less so at 4.00am with the dawn chorus; one bird singing its heart out, the rest going 'shurup, chirup, shurup'. Always everything in the tent. Morning dew is super wetting. Brilliant episode took me back to living for a month at a time in an MG midget, camping around the UK - when I was much younger.
Yep, loved it. As someone old enough to be your mother I worried for your safety. I know we would never do anything if we constantly give into fear. Not sure you totally enjoyed it though Lou. Stay safe girl. Love all videos that the four of you make.
if the porch has not got a groundsheet get two sticks push them into the ground then upturn your boots and put them on the sticks that stops bugs getting into your boots
OMG I love this.... I just wish I could find the time and get out with my camera and do this, thank you Lou for giving me inspiritions.. I love photography and love taking photos.oh and your tent is just the best love the Orange.... Go Girl Lou...
What a fabulous vlog ! Humour really is the best medicine and your unique take on stealthy camping is the funniest we’ve seen on TH-cam - definitely more of this please and we’re sure Emily and AJ will love it too, tho not sure Summer will be quite so keen ….. ? Great stuff Lou 😄👍🏼x
Boots in a bag, or two bags as I have huge feet, and bring everything in the tent. The bags get repurposed at the end for rubbish. Keep the tent closed as much as possible to keep the bugs out. I always kept everything packed away for a fast exit in case things went wrong. But I am a bit paranoid. Camo tent! Stay safe out there.
Massive respect to you Lou! 🙌🏻 Good that you’re honest about the slight nerves but faced them anyway. Yes, the tent’s a bright orange beacon 😆 but it did show up well in your beautiful footage of the forest 👍. Brilliant video. Well done I’m looking forward to watching many more of your wild camping vids. ATB, Sue.
Love the headlamp. Although the red light is not the best for seeing things, it is the least attractive colour to insects like moths etc. Great film as ever.
Loving the drone footage and the wildlife. Tent is great, orange is the new black!!. Keep your tent zipped up early, helps to keep it warm and keep the bugs out, if not, zip up the fly screen. Great video 😃
Thoroughly enjoyed this camping video. Definitely do more of these. Way too much fun. I am enjoying the diversity of your content. Keep up the good work.
Some tips to stay warm in your sleeping bag. First, get a single wall non-insulated water bottle about 750 to 1000 ml (double wall will burst when heated). Fill it with water and boil it at the edge of your campfire or on your stove. Cap tightly so it doesn't leak and put it in a sock, two if they're thin. Put the setup in your sleeping bag at the foot. Most people find that keeping the feet warm makes the whole body feel warmer. If you're a really cold sleeper you can use a second one to huge all night. Secondly, don't sleep fully clothed. Just wear moisture wicking (polyester) long underwear. Your clothing will trap sweat and moisture close to your skin making you colder. That's why you first get in your bag and feel cozy and warm only to wake up later cold. Moisture is the biggest enemy to staying warm in cold temperatures. Your sleeping bag is designed to keep you warm without the clothing. If you need extra layers, use a blanket on top of the sleeping bag. Use a good, insulated sleeping pad under your bag. Cold ground will suck heat out of you as fast as anything. Third, eat something before going to bed. A meal or just a snack. The digestion process produces heat keeping you warm. Forth, in the morning when you get up, completely open up your bag and hang it up to dry on a tree limb or line for a couple hours if it's not raining. You can lay it over your tent but don't lay it on the ground. It will draw moisture out of the ground making it damper especially if the warm sun is shining on it. Lastly, if you wake up shivering, get up, rekindle that campfire and get warm. Shivering means you're getting close to hypothermia. The saying goes "If you wake up shivering once and go back to sleep, you may not wake up again."
Keep all your kit in the tent , boots also in the tent, keep your space clean and tidy if it's not in use pack it away, citronella sticks help keep the bugs out the most important part have fun however you do it.
I’m with you on migraines, mine are severe, sick, can’t see ,dark room ,lasts for hours and hours, can go into days ,worse thing ever as you never no when you’re goin get one !
The bugs were in the tent because of the head torch. You'd have been the brightest light for miles, attracting bugs from everywhere. Best to have a dim light shining downwards.
A sneaky squirrel bullying a human caterpillar, living in an orange tent, who loves wildlife photography, oddly shaped mounts, tea in the woods, socks as bug protectors (unpatented), reusing cooking water for aforementioned tea and migraine-inducing headlamp tent raves, oh Louise, you spoil us 💚💚💚💚
Absolutely loved this video. Came up on my TH-cam recommended as iv been researching a wee bit as I’m going on my first solo camp in a few days. Made me even more excited for it.
I'm not sure if anyone else has commented, but that tin roof shelter really close to the ground could possibly be a snake hibernation shelter! We have some for adders up here in Northumberland :)
Started following you a few weeks back when I decided to go the van route. I totally get where you're coming from, camping is great for getting you more in tune with the wildlife. I'm getting into van life for the same reasons (photography and art) as I studied wildlife conservation before developing a chronic fatigue condition so it will allow me to get out there and pace myself to get the results. Love your humor and can't wait to see more... how about some sneaky occasional photography tips or kit run down??
Hope you enjoy it as much as we do, lou has got another channel Louise Stockbridge, she has not posted loads on their recently but there are some good vids on there 😀
I've used shower caps to protect from b7gs in boots and also to cover soles of boots so no mess inside the tent. And yes, if im the only one using the tent, everything in their with me.
Anti-bug tip. Use your head torch to lure your flying buzzing friends out of the tent as they are attracted to the bright light. Then turn the torch off and nip back into the cosy bug free tent. Voila. Great vlog btw.
Hi Lou, I used to take a small fly spray, little scoot about 6.00 zip up the door, drinking around the fire till 12.00, God send no mozzy's while everyone that didn't use it got tortured all night. Still use it now in caravan.
Don't forget to air your gear when you get home the moisture on your tent and sleeping bag will need to be dried before you properly pack it away. Best way to store your sleeping bag is an oversized stuffsack / pillowcase or hang it up in a hanger but not the small stuffsack though

@@Silkytoaster I think you missed my point!
I’m glad you didn’t go all click baity with this one, it’s been putting me off to be honest..You two don’t need to do it 😉
😁😁
Great to see your doing different things.
Good shout, we have loads of poo bogs and she did take a few, I bet that class was amazing 🤩
Just BRILLIANT on every level! Stealth camping in an orange tent 🏕😂
Fantastic drone footage, superb music and so much fun to watch. Well done on your first proper camping experience…👍 Michelle and Andy
She is an idiot with an orange tent 😂
OMG Louise, this was laugh out loud hilarious! Sneak camping in a bright orange tent - yes, get a camouflage cover...the boot bug covers will be great to have in scorpion country or on my boots in the basement (scared of bugs in me shoes)....keep up the wild camping commentary...it's like stand up comedy in the forest. xoxo
Back pack in tent.
Boots inside carrier bag in the tent.
Tidy/pack away what you dont need to give you space.
That's the way we used to do it. Little space kept tidy is a great place 😉
TOP TIP (learned in the army during winter time)
Never sleep fully dressed in a sleepingbag, even less is better. Take all clothes you want to wear in the morning with you into the sleepingbag. Keeps all clothes warm and dry and gives a comfy feeling in the sleepingbag.
During night worn clothes get humid and make you freezing in the morning after getting out of the sleepingbag 🥴
I'm practizing that now since 50 years, never felt cold in the morning 👍
Best part is to get dressed and feel instantly warm, so you don't have to rush for a hot cup of tea/coffee😎
I am seriously impressed, what a brave bunny you are. Fabulous wildlife footage.
I always thought you were so much braver than me Lou in where you park up in your van on your own, but this is a whole other level. So much respect to you for doing this on your own, in the middle of a forest! Excellent video as well, so entertaining. I love the caterpillar sleeping bag! :-)
Aw thank you Sharon
K, I want to say, after 20-some years of back-country tent camping alone, there's something you don't want to do: goof around, like walking over a stack of logs. Continue to think, what would happen, if I sprained my ankle out here? if you broke your leg in a complex way? You can't be too careful, when you're alone. Even with GPS, it takes time for people to get to you. We luvs y'all, gurl, don't go gettin' hurt.
Thank you 😊
Good point Deanya
Great video. Get yourself a battery powered sleep pad inflater, the moisture in your breath will lower the R rating of your pad also an aluminium under sheet will reflect your body heat back to you, oh and a jungle blanket (they pack down small). They're all affordable and very available. Cheers Lou.
Looks like you had a film crew, the quality was that good. Very funny as well!
Haha bloody nightingales
omg i read this and laughed so much. Its got to be so true, even in the countryside the wild things cant get away from us! 🤣
Loved this! Life is pretty crap right now for me and you made me smile. Beautiful wildlife shots too. Thank you ☺
Brilliant again thanks for sharing really enjoyed seeing your kit like that tent and the food looked lovely,👍
yay that was good! Do more !
Really enjoyed video brings back memories taking the family camping in tents. They all toped when they were teenage years, now they all have camper vans and enjoy it all again.see you all next week stay safe xxPat
Lou, please come to Canada, I would love to show you guys real camping.
Oh yeah nobody would ever see her 🤣🤦♀️
Another great vlog. You are one brave person alone in a tent. I could not do it in a million years. I also suffer with migraines and I feel your pain. You keep us well entertained as usual.
Well done. Love the videos.
Answers to questions
Rucksack in or outside.
Yes please more wild camping 👍 loved it
What’s not to love. Lou you are just a diamond, nuf said.
Em’s we haven’t forgotten you. Glad you are both rebalancing and making sure your happiness is first - that makes you better ‘tubers’ we see straight through the ‘in a rut’ pretenders. Stay real we love it. Xx

Thank you guys 😁😁
Well said Amy
Really great vid, Louise, thanks for posting. 👍
The red light is definitely a good thing right
I cracked a smile the exact same time as you when you said I hate pricks, our sense of humour is the same which makes watching your vlogs so enjoyable 👍🦘🇦🇺🇬🇧
Lou you are awesome ...had such a laugh watching and listening to you ...love the wildlife , scenery and the swearing 🤣 can't wait for the next one ...love to you and Em 😊xx
rucksack down by your feet if dry, boots in a plastic bag outside if necessary, kit organised for brekkie or a hot drink, rest packed away.
Funny, vibrant , full of life , so in touch with nature , inspirational - your vlogs are a mix of information and emotional content - happy happy happy . Have a great day Lou . Francis
Thanks Lou - you are fun, very talented and I love your humble approach to YouTubing… quite the inspiration - thank you
Before the van, me n Lisa used to wildcamp everywhere.
Thank you 😀
Would appreciate more birds photos with their name written on the photos. 👍You have different birds in UK of what we have here in Quebec. Lou (also)
I'll tell you something Lou, I'm impressed by your filming discipline and dedication. Capturing sunsets/sunrises and making sure you put the time into b roll 👍. It's something I need to improve on but your giving me a mental kick up the arse 😂. Great video again 🙂
Thanks Brendan, I think I find it so easy as they’re the bits I just absolutely love to film! Thanks for watching 😀😀
@@campervibe yeh same, b roll used to make up the majority of my films but I definitely need to go back to filming more 🙂👍
Backpack in the tent under the knees! Comfortable. No boots at all, just trail running shoes. And in the tent. Stuff gets put away organized
Before camping pillows came around I used to use my back pack as a makeshift pillow
Try not to sleep in too many clothes. Your sleeping bag needs your body heat in order for it to loft and work properly. Wearing a warm woolly hat is a must so as not to lose too much body heat.
Nothing wrong with orange tent.
I've never tried it but many campers suggest that the air mat goes inside the sleeping bag to keep you off the ground and to stop you from slipping off the air mat during the night.
She has only tried it once, she will let you know 😁
I loved this Lou, thank you. I was worried for your safety, and I'm glad that you were OK. You're a braver woman than me that's for sure.
Hi Lou
What a great video.it’s arrived at the best time. I’m at home with covid at the moment, and for the last couple of months I’ve felt myself going downhill. Which is very unlike me. I’m normally very upbeat. Thank you so much for your positive posts. It’s given me the ass, to get back out there again. Love to both of you. Barry. ❤️👍
Hope you feel better soon Barry and yeah get back out there for sure, the sun is on its way 😉 😀
Get yourself a dry bag for stuff you seriously don't wanna get wet then keep your pack in the porch if you want to.
I am to old for that shit.. 😜
But then again, I live in a cabin in the forest, so this is like my backyard ... 😊
If you ever come to Norway, let me know, and you all (cat and dog too) are more than welcome to spend a couple of days.
😂🤣 don’t encourage her with terms like bell end lol!!
Good fun for you, great entertainment for me (and all your many fans). Thanks Lou ❤️👍😀
Great video lou 👍
Yep, loved it. As someone old enough to be your mother I worried for your safety. I know we would never do anything if we constantly give into fear. Not sure you totally enjoyed it though Lou. Stay safe girl. Love all videos that the four of you make.
Great video as usual love your wildlife pics look forward to the next one
if the porch has not got a groundsheet get two sticks push them into the ground then upturn your boots and put them on the sticks that stops bugs getting into your boots
You are so cheery and fun. What a pleasant night in the woods. Sorry about your migraine tho.
Really enjoyed your camp out video. Used to love the smell of thee morning air outside.
Summer would hate it lol!! Thanks guys 😀😀
So many people do it so many ways it's great to find out as well 😁
Massive respect to you Lou! ATB, Sue.
Cheers Sue
Well done Lou, your enthusiasm is inspiring 👍. Leave nothing but footprints and take nothing but photos.
Thoroughly enjoyed your trip to the forest. Can’t wait to see you all again soon. Xx
Love the headlamp. Although the red light is not the best for seeing things, it is the least attractive colour to insects like moths etc. Great film as ever.
That's a bonus
Thank you, I (Em) like the idea of eating before bed for sure 😁 thanks there are some great tips
Thank you for making us laugh, for straight forward advice. Just spent a windy 3 nights on north wales x
A sneaky squirrel bullying a human caterpillar, living in an orange tent, who loves wildlife photography, oddly shaped mounts, tea in the woods, socks as bug protectors (unpatented), reusing cooking water for aforementioned tea and migraine-inducing headlamp tent raves, oh Louise, you spoil us 💚💚💚💚
I use super cheap shower caps for my muddy boots, just pop the boots inside and keep inside the tent
Hope you enjoy it as much as we do, lou has got another channel
Louise Stockbridge, she has not posted loads on their recently but there are some good vids on there 😀
@@campervibe Thanks I'll go check it out :)
Hope everything stays smooth in Norway!
I've used shower caps to protect from b7gs in boots and also to cover soles of boots so no mess inside the tent. And yes, if im the only one using the tent, everything in their with me.
Another great video, looking forward to your next camping video and learning more about the kit you are using.
Brilliant video as always Lou.
Looking forward to more wild camping films. Photography was brilliant as always.
Happy & safe travels ladies Terry
Anti-bug tip. Use your head torch to lure your flying buzzing friends out of the tent as they are attracted to the bright light. Then turn the torch off and nip back into the cosy bug free tent. Voila. Great vlog btw.
Thanks 😁
Hi Lou, I used to take a small fly spray, little scoot about 6.00 zip up the door, drinking around the fire till 12.00, God send no mozzy's while everyone that didn't use it got tortured all night. Still use it now in caravan.
Don't forget to air your gear when you get home the moisture on your tent and sleeping bag will need to be dried before you properly pack it away. Best way to store your sleeping bag is an oversized stuffsack / pillowcase or hang it up in a hanger but not the small stuffsack though
