Three big races in the world Le Mans 24 hour, Daytona 500, Bathurst 1000. There's no track like Bathurst 571 feet from the bottom to the top of the mountain. The Bathurst 12 hour endurance race brings drivers from around the world competing in the fastest and most expensive GT Touring cars, Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Aston Martin etc. etc. a must see, end of January 2025. For those that don't know that is how Peter Brock died, in a Targa race in Western Australia.
In 1979 one driver Peter Brock led the second placed driver by 6 laps at the start of the last lap. On that last lap he set a lap record. Also, he won it nine times...
Have been to the Bathurst 1000 race so many times as a spectator but was lucky enough to be invited to an extreme sports event years ago that occurred there. Just driving on the track to get up to McPhillarmy Park (where we had the lodging and entertainment etc) was epic, you can't even realize the changes in altitude by watching it on tv, you have to experience it. One of the worlds most incredible tracks for the touring car race series. Awesome.

I made the pilgrimage to Bathurst in 2011 to watch the race. Would love to see some of these so called Nascar racers take on Bathurst they would last about five minutes.
Americans always think they are so fantastic but yet they have no idea about the rest of the world??? The land of the brave and the land of the free well just take a look at the land of the brave lol!
@@stuwhiteman3810 😂😂 damn bro, what did we do?🤣🤣
@@VivitStudios Sorry I had a few red wines last night lol.
You think they would successfully do two laps ?? LOL
@@VivitStudios LOL.. There are sooooo many racers that think they are great.. They go around and around a banked track.. There is little thinking there - they are more avoiding other cars and trying to pass - the track is the same inch by inch..
Bathurst - well, the first thing the drivers need to do is think and handle the track before even worrying about the other cars.. As he says, if you can't be sensible 120 metres into a 1,000 kilometre race, then don't bother starting.. You will probably the first the first "sensation" of the day - first crash on the first corner.. LOL
@@JK-tq5oe It would be interesting to see it, but if your conditioned to going round and round in a circle for years I think it would be difficult to adjust to a proper racecourse. This is Bathurst lol. No round and round in a circle bullshit, pretty boring really lol. Maybe they should get some of those Nascar racers out here and see how they do just out of interest?
that was one lap they have to do 161 laps
You need to watch USA's famous lap of Bathurst by Waltrip!!
