On the contrary I believe if the cars are controlled by engineers we will see extraordinary new maneuvers and controls by the cars. Also if we like to watch races due to the glorification of drivers why can’t we give the same importance and status to the teams who design the best AI and win races. Also the internationally inclusive nature of these races would find new fans for the sport around the globe. Example, we rarely see a sport where two arch rival countries come head to head thus if let’s say, USA comes against Iran or India comes against Pakistan just imagine the adrenaline rush amongst the spectators at the same time patriotism would also be infused amongst the spectators of the respective nations. These are my thoughts on how it could be fun to watch.
