Two of your example sentences were "Vado al supermercato PER comprare il latte" but "Vado in cucina A prepare il pranzo". Are a and per interchangeable here or does it depend on the verb that follows per or a?

In the supermarket example, I see that the "to" of comprare doesn't count. You need PER. È vero? I'd like to request a video about when to use prepositions with infinitives.
Me neither!! 😄😄 This is one of those cases where it's really hard to find a logic behind the exception...I guess it developed this way in the language, probably in the past Cuba was considered more as an island then an indipendent country, but then I can't help thinking of many other islands that weren't indipendent for longer (e.g. Madagascar) and we still use "in" with those. Ah, the peculiarities of the Italian language! 🙄😁

No, "in ristorante" è sempre un errore in italiano. Diciamo normalmente "al ristorante", solo in caso intendiamo "dentro al ristorante" possiamo usare "nel ristorante", ma comunque è necessaria la preposizione articolata "nel" = in + il, mai solo la preposizione.

Sì, corretto! You need "per" when it means "in order to" even if in English you don't need the preposition. Noted your request down!

I didn’t see “AN” but “AL”, which is an articulated preposition; a combination of a+il, or “in the.”
