Thanks a lot for your series. The videos show clearly how the parts of the picture can be brought back to what was the impression of the landscape when the picture was taken. May I ask how you handle the situation where the mountains get partially covered by the clouds. High mountain peaks very often are partly covered with clouds. The mountain shows through these clouds as if this is mist.

But I would probably start with a color based map and maybe intersect it with a luminance mask. Sounds like it would take a little work. Yet another excellent video tut Mickey; thanks. I've always struggled to get my skies, and the clouds in them, looking the way I want but have never quite succeeded in achieving a wholly satisfactory result. But now you've shown me how to do it, I will be forever grateful to you. A question for you: When on those occassions one wants, or needs to replace a boring, empty or flat skies, do you use a 1/3rd party plugin option that you would be happy to reccommend? I typically use either PhotoShop Replace Sky or Luminar Neo sky replacement. Either of these plugins will give me a nice looking sky but again, I can never quite get them to look the way I want them to look. Best wishes, Maarten
I am in the same boat as you. If I replace skies (and I have to admit...I rarely do that), I have used PS, On1 or Luminar. Getting the sky just right is a real pain. The most success I have ever had was using Ps with the BlendIf mode to get everything just right. It takes a lot of time and effort, that being one of the reasons Idno't use the sky replacement actions. Good Luck

Adobe sent me an email stating, “Adobe is modernizing the Creative Cloud storage experience and will begin discontinuing Creative Cloud Synced files on February 1, 2024”. I really have no idea what this is about. I know that occasionally when I close Lightroom it asks if I want to sync files. I always click yes but really don’t know why. I use Lightroom regularly so I don’t want to somehow loose photos or edits come next February. Do you know what this email is about?
I don't really know. But I will need to check it out. The storage for sync'd files is primarily for those who use the mobile or web version of LR. It allows you to sync certain files so you have access to them remotely. I use Adobe portfolio for my photo site. I know it sync's files from specific Collections on my MAC. I hope that is not the type of storage they are intending to cut off. So, I will definitely have to check on that. I will let you know what I find out.
