I got in on the RC10 40th preorder. I was 10 or 12 when it was released. I wanted one but I just had cheap RC’s. I had a World Engines Rockbuster which was a grasshopper knockoff. I built a Kyosho Javelin last year and wanted that back when I was a kid. For the RC10 I’ll put ball bearings in and run it. I’ll probably lightly run it and then keep it safe
Excellent video! I got in on the preorder for the RC10 and am so excited. I raced back in the day, but I had a Losi LXT. I remember the two servos. One was for steering and one was for the mechanical speed controller. Pretty high tech at the time! Thanks for the video!
Two days ago I was telling my wife about how I've always wanted an RC 10 and the history of RC cars altogether. Punky Brewster was how I learned of hobby grade and rc10 being the bar.
Get it bro… or in 10-20 years you’ll regret it🤔… take the tires and shock seals and oil them up and throw them in a ziplock (2). Put it back in the box and build it in 10-20 years with grandson/daughter. That would be the ultimate build! Or buy two and build one now and save one for later…
I’m getting one…just trying to decide on what turn motor… I’m thinking brushed motor but don’t know if I should use a 15t or 17t or 19t?? I’m with you on the nostalgia and childhood memories… I remember the grass hopper, fox and falcon running around the neighborhood…
Back in the late 80 and 90s I used to race the rc10, rc10t and rc10gt. It was so much different back then. I used to make my own 7cell batteries for the track and the brushed motor. You had to solder on your wires and resistors. Seeing this car brings me back. A lot different today then it was back then.
Are these 40th anniversary Rc10s coming with physical instructions? All I see is that barcode for the digital instructions. Would be a bit of a bummer if it didn’t.
Would the Rage be a decent candidate for a mild 2s or 3s brushless system? I have an extra Spektrum 100 amp 4000kv combo i grabbed when they were marked down to $65 at Christmas. I'm not familiar at all with the truck. I've actually never owned the brand and feel like maybe I've missed out after watching this.
The Rage 2.0 is basically the same platform that the Mad Van is built on, to go brushless in the Rage you really need to upgrade the spur gear to a steel spur. The stock plastic 48 pitch spur gear strips out pretty quick with brushless power, easy uprade to do though.
The associated equipment is a buggy with a very old design, it is 2wd, it lacks control and receiver and its price is $380😢😢 dollars...definitely in my opinion I would go for the rage (which offers a 4x4 transmission) and a control, and receiver included for only $190 dollars....
It had been figured out. If you take the price of the original and adjusted for inflation. It was close to around $169.99 sometimes 100 with no body or motor. a bit more with bearings. but 169.99 is about $500 in todays money. SO those of us that couldn't afford then. Can better now. I didn't pull trigger on the 2014 release where 2or3k were made. lowest production run of any version. So bummed. not again.

Do you know if the RC10 has metric hardware or is it all OG American like it was?
I hope they come out with a brushless rage. I like that body

Yes me too😊

Or could use the 11 turn and esc that we all took out of our Gorgon and swapped for brushless stuff. Can have mine if you didn't Gorgon.
15t

Just got my RC10 today. Don't know if I'm going to build it or keep it sealed in the box
sweet!! did u at least open the sealed package?
@@JayTeeRC started building it but it was missing a 5/32 locknut
It would be wonderful to see a video of the rage 2.0 in 2024...there is very little recent content on this car

The Kyosho Rage is the Better option for $190 bucks (4x4 ) and 540 12 turns motor😊😊😊
Kyosho motor is 14 turn.
@@gillian9178 sorry :) its true
yes, but this is about memories , not about 4 wheel drive, but I did have a yokomo dog fighter.

Legendary buggy. But this kit is way overpriced.
