This is awesome. I’ll never forget Christmas morning 1987 unwrapping one of these, going outside and driving it straight into a bush. That led to finding a local RC track with my dad which led to my family opening an RC track and many years of racing. Great memories. My dad still has a couple of the original RC10s in his collection.
Man, the assembly editing is awesome. Took me back to 1987 when I built my first RC10. Thank you!
I reckon that’s my Cancelled order you are unboxing!
I cried all night on Thursday when the notification came through 😭
Awesome that Team Associated has created another release of the iconic RC10. I still have mine that I raced at tracks in Omaha Nebraska and surrounding towns back in the mid to late 80's. This past summer the 1/10th scale World Off Road Races were held at Hobby Action RC Raceway in Chandler Arizona. I took my OG RC10 there and to meet Alex Sturgeon from Hobby Towns Hobby Plex Omaha where he introduced me to none other than Jammin' Jay Halsey who autographed my car. Unbelievable! Sure would be awesome to get one of these RC10CC's.
Thanks for this. Reminds me of when I built my first RC10 in 1987.
This is a must have for me.
my first car and got me hooked in the hobby 55 years old now fly everything drive everything love this hobby
Oh did that make me feel old, 40 years?! I owned one of those back then, wiper esc, tires as hard as rock, 40oz in servo, brushed motor, a bit prehistoric. lol
Fantastic vid. You can tell you are an OG in this RC Hobby with the true Nostalgia and love you had for this kit. Good on Ya.
Classy AF!! Still kicking myself for not buying the reissue a decade ago. I'll need three clear ones lol
I've had several of the AE RC kits and loved them. Simply worth every penny to those who thing they are overpriced.
Thanks for this video. You made me realize just how cool the raw aluminum shocks look vs pink, purple, red, etc.
The clear kit would be nice for the collector as well....I've never seen it done!
Thanks again!
Had an original from when I was a kid and in 08 times got tough and had to sell it. It was still tearing it up over 30yrs later. Great car.
Im on the fastrack list. Got an email the other day, that my kit was ready, go to order it two hours later, and said it was sold out. Ae said they "accidentally"sent out too many invites for stock on hand. I like how months ago the msrp price on the website was 319, now mysteriously its 399. Heard people complaining already of the poor quality of the kit overall. Air bubbles and voids in the plastic pieces, and the chassis is paper thin, and somehow lighter than the gold tub. I have a mint "a stamp ive had forever, and sold three other ones theoughout the years. Kinda miffed with the expierience so far. Im 46, so trust me when i seen a ton, owned a ton. And really really wanted this.
I saw this too. AE sold out when they told me I would get one. After that they also raised the price for the second batch of cars. However, I did get one from Amain! Of course they are now sold out too. Thoughts?
the build montage was so well done. do more of those!
An RC10 was my first hobby-grade kit in 1987. Still my favorite to this day.
You were one of the few lucky one's then. My parents didn't spend that kinda money on me nor did any of my friends parents either. Just kids with wealthy folks and they always rubbed it in to the point most kids despised him and eventually used him for his toys...
@dieseldabz7104 my parents didn't either. I spent the summer mowing lawns and working nights as a short-order cook (3.35/hr) at a bowling alley to save up.
I could watch this all day. Love watching build videos with the right music. It wouldn't work with Slipknot 😂
What an awesome Throwback Brett it was a pleasure to watch you build it!.. I may have to get myself one now thanks lol.
My best friends dad, WAY back in the day had the gold tub, while my friend had a Grasshopper. That, got me into RC. Had about 10 years away, but race a B6.4D Team Buggy. (amongst many other cars).
Memories.....
Man I love rc cars, got my first one years ago when I was a youngin', it was a tyco bandit. I've been hooked since
Excellent video. Love the close up built clips 👍🏼
Pls do more of these! More re re retro builds thanks Brett 😂
This is a GEM! brings back tons of memories
I am trying to patiently wait for stock to get to you guys so I can see that wonderful shipping notification! I am very much looking forward to building this one and then just sit there and stare at it for hours on end!
Its so so pretty!! but put a ESC and sweet motor in there for show! finish the build.
I love Amain and Brett! What a combo!
Amazing build video Brett. Brings back so many memories of building those og kits.
I know this is made as a collector addition additive but I can see it holding up running it , think they just didn’t want to be responsible if it didn’t and the sole fact of bringing it back to life
NIIIIICE👌🏻 My first proper racer was a T3 2wd stadium truck, I won several races with that truck, Love to win this RC10CC 🙏🏻
I ordered mine November 1st from A main. Hope I get it!
Amazing build video and editing.
Such melancholy building music. Made me cry😂
Love to see they released that rc Icon again. Sadly, I can buy it, and it's really hard to believe in those giveaways.
AMAZING BROOOO !!!! Also your face in thumbnail was very funny!!!!! Love your vids Amain hobbies
AWESOME...I cant believe the price on this kit now {:-o I still have ny RC 10 from 35 yras ago, and it runs great.AWESOME little kit....MOPAR 4 EVER.
Takes me back 37 years to when I got my first RC10!
Never owned a RC10, I ran Losi back in the day, first car being a JRX2, my first hobby grade rc car. Still own it. This RC10 will definately be a collectors item. But what's gonna happen when the Vintage Racers, run out of Vintage stuff? LOL.
What a kit!!! Awesome!!
I was going to order the optional lighting kit for the Ghost R/C 10.
Remembered that Amain has my account info, they know where I live.....
Looks sweet but doomed to be a shelf queen since clear replacement parts aren't available
Gotta get it! Love Amain Hobbies, keep up the great vids. Thank you
This kit brought me back to my childhood, had to have one again, the only disappointment....come on Associated, add a couple extra c-clips, you KNOW damn well were going to shoot a couple across the room while we're building.
It nice to hear you pronounce "Associated" correctly.
To they have One that you can actually Run and not end up as a shelf queen, I mean without the Transparent Parts?
Awesome thanks
Can these crystal parts be dyed, like we did with nylon parts back in the day? I wonder how that would look...
Very cool bro
Now all we need is clear aftermarket parts
Amain should do a collab with Gentleman’s Gazette. Brett in Black Tie building a beast !!!
all tyme fav Back then and still today
Great video, I’m just about to build one of these. Never done a non Tamiya kit so could you tell me the tool kit you used or the sizes needed please? I only have metric tools. Thanks!
I wonder if the clear plastics are more brittle than the normal black plastics.
I think so. The plastic has a similar feel to those old clear CD cases, although thicker. But I don't think the parts will provide any 'give' in an impact, they'll just snap, probably more so in cold weather.
-Brett
This would be so much nicer with stainless hardware
Man that's a nice one, so cool....
Total Collector's Item!
Atleast you got yours.
I have an old rc10 I've been wanting to rebuild.
What a nice buggy
Clearly a great rc 😂👍
I don't Facebook.
Good luck though.
Subscribed anyway!
I am so enjoyoing this
History right there....
What a beautiful kit!! Want one!!
I’m curious if the clear plastic is more fragile then white or black? Most clear plastics are more rigid and prone to crack easier then black or white.
They really missed out not using Stainless hardware.
- The black oxide stuff is ok but, the SS would have matched much better
hello my friend, I saw that you used ballrings, that they didn't came on the set, where sis you get those bullrings?
I've always wanted the 93 worlds edition but I missed out on the re-release, and on eBay they're going for so much money. is it possible to get the new 40th anniversary edition, and upgrade it with worlds parts? and if so, which company does them?
0:13 ahhhh my first car 😊
5:45 omg... the popping... the memories... original ball joints... my gawd man everything flooded back 🙏
Are you ready for Christmas
should look nice when you paint it
Yes please
what paint color is the rc10 classic (box art)?
The black cab and window pillars are paint and painted on the outside (at least on the body AE sent us); www.amainhobbies.com/tamiya-ps5-black-lexan-spray-paint-100ml-tam86005/p125352
The remaining color is this Tamiya Camel Yellow: www.amainhobbies.com/tamiya-ps19-camel-yellow-lexan-spray-paint-100ml-tam86019/p125380
So fairly simple. The body is just black and yellow and everything else is a decal from the included decal sheet.
-Brett
❤
Very nice thumbnail. LOL
I wish I could win this car it would be the first time I would ever win. Good luck to all.
Looks cool. However, not including ball bearings in the kit is an insult. Likely the extra cost for Associated would be $5, but one has to pay around 20…😖
I haven't HPI trophy and I believe the glow plug is messed up me being able to screw it back in is there any advice you could give me to fix this problem without having to change the engine as all the Hobby shops have closed down in London
3 options Buy a new head, buy a new engine, or helicoil for the stripped out head
What head my head probably there must be a way to like rethread it I'm buying you engine and find a hobby store in London driving a laugh a lot I'd have to travel 100 miles to find a hobby Shop there must be an easy way to sort it out and explain to me what happened please even if it is a bit abrupt
memories
no trophy blonde, no deal
Woild love to win thia
It's clear dirt, not ice.
If this is just going to be sitting on a shelf, what is the point of adding bearings over the stock bushings?
Just for the sake of upgrading and enhancing the car I suppose, and to make it slightly different from all the others out there.
-Brett
bushings..?
I never had one my dad got me a Tamiya Fast Attack vehicle
Is there a number
Do you know how many of these clear kits have been made?
No, not exactly. I imagine a few hundred were created in the first batch but more should be on the way.
-Brett
the clear parts look really fragile. This is made for the shelf only? well that makes sense. But that price tag....
I want that car...
How can I get a painted body like the original?
Painting one yourself or having an r/c painter create one are your best options. Sometimes people sell the box art bodies on the eBay, but they're usually pretty expensive.
-Brett
I'll stick with my gold chassis thanx, it still handles nicely!
Beethoven of Builds
Mozart of Motors
Albinoni of Associated
What s part numer for upgrade parts lock nut pin on arms please
itd be funny to see rivkin drive one on a track with a 17.5 setup and puke his brains out at how old it is
Well... I guess I missed out on those. What else is new.... :(
Is this durable enough to be run? Or for display purposes only?
Polycarbonate parts aren't durable. And AE stated the clear parts will not be available separately. This kit should be display only.
😔
No slipper, it's a 6 gear
Dumb question, will this RC10cc be durable enough to drive? …or is it fragile/decorative?
It could be driven and it's strong enough to hold itself together but with no spare parts available, it's a big risk.
-Brett
@@AMain_Hobbies Ty. I really just want a classic RC10. lol. Was my dream car when I was young. …maybe I should just find an okay condition RC10 on eBay… …prices went crazy though of course.
Is this meant to be a display car, or is it meant to be driven and are replacement parts available?
There are no clear-plastic replacement parts but some generic parts are available, like body, chassis and tires. Technically, you could drive the car if you want and I'm sure some people will, but if you break a part... ouch! I would cry to break it without parts available.
-Brett
bearings!!!
To bad alot AE rc’s are made in china. My RC10T was made in USA have to love 1993
Honestly I put my glow plug in in and out many times and this is never happened tell me how much of an idiot I've been and what I've done wrong
Could you post the one I’ve paid for to me before you start giving them away?
All these free giveaways always seem to somehow mysteriously end up being given away to someone other than me I’m not even going to try ever since the last give away all I been getting ever since is e-mails from y’all like the unwanted gift that just keeps giving and giving and giving and giving and giving and giving like never ending stream of emails of giving that’s what everyone’s consolation prize will be whether you want it or not
Giveaways are usually 100% rigged regardless if they use a generator app to pick trust me. Always seems the big RC channels or their buddies wins time and time again.
You must not understand how giveaways work. Stop being a crybaby.
“If I don’t get it, it must be rigged!!”… Jackass.
I keep trying every time all the time!! 😂😂😂
Giveaways are revenue generators... by that I mean they collect massive amounts of personal data and sell that data.
