You can also use a 9 volt battery to find out. Just keep mixing the wires around until you see light and keep note of which color is on the + and which wire is on the ---
I've a kayo 110cc, it's got a new battery, new spark plug, ive checked the fuel lines and filters and I've cleaned out the carb and jets, it's cranking but won't start, if I spray some easy start into the air filter, it runs long enough to burn of the easy start. My mechanical knowledge ends there, any suggestions where to go to from here?😬 9
From what you describe, I would say it is a fuel issue. You said that you cleaned the carb and jets, but something is still not letting the fuel in. Check the carb again or replace.
Might need a bigger pilot jet or check your pilot screw. It mat be cranked all the way in a shutting the air or fuel off. I think your looking for somewhere around 2 turns out from the screw being all the way in. Just a thought
There are only a few items to check, if you have fuel and compression, then spark is the missing link, Either the plug, wire of CDI will cause this issue.
Hi I just purchased a used coolster 125cc atv and it starts and ran fine. Got it home and then decide to change the oil and check the spark plug and now it won’t start. I have no idea what’s wrong and what I should do. The spark plug was a little dark but it had no trouble starting before I took the spark plug out.
Anything could have happened by chance. I would start with the basics; check compression, spark, and fuel delivery. Once you know those variables you can work from there.

My cousins cave me there blue small thin go cart it had a Robbin engine on it and I took it off and replaced it with a 3hp Briggs and I just now got Robbin to fire and run but the clutch that was on it I destroyed how I need to find a new clutch but the problem is the crankshaft on Robbin is 7/8s can you help
search ebay. They have some, but since you are going from 7/8 to 3/4 the step down will make the final shaft longer, so you will have to make adjustment for that.
Most standard small engines, 6.5 hp and less, clutches are sized at 3/4 inch shaft so either you will have to find a 7/8 inch clutch or use an adapter.

Show off my cusses gave me there Chinese ATV it won’t suck fuel and stay running if I spray fuel in the carb a crank it will run just as long you keep throttle open but when you close throttle it dies so let me know if you know what’s wrong with it because I give up I boil the carburetor in carburetor cleaner for 22 minutes and it ran and idle intill 2 days later I think when I took it for a test drive down our treat and on 3 etimped going down our street it lost spark so I took carburetor off of 4 wealer put it in tool box then 4 wheeler sat for 1 month and that’s basically how it no longer runs and idle on it own so what’s wrong with it is it just the carburetor or ? Need help leave a suggestions if you want more info I make a video on it tomorrow so go to me channel the video will be could it won’t run
Even with all you did, still sounds like it is a carburetor issue, emulsion tubes are difficult to clean completely. All it takes is the smallest particle and it won't run right. I now will not spend the time to rebuild or clean it since they are so cheap online for a replacement. Find the best replacement you can from Ebay or Amazon. They last few I have been able to find for around $12. The motor cycle style maybe more depending on fitment.
Ok I boil the carburetor in carburetor cleaner for 22 minutes and it’s worked good and then I road it down our street and then it lost spark on my 3rd attempt going down our road and I had to pushed it back and then when I got home to shop I took carburetor off put it in closed in toolbox 🧰 but then I got new spark kit 1 month latter and that’s when carburetor quit working. so do you think it’s the gas it leeking between carburetor and aluminum tube that bolts to engine because that black thick gas it is really hard so do you think that’s it a vacuum leek because cause even with bowl full of gas when I crank it no fuel is flowing in the engine. I use spray nozzle on compressor up to 80 and spray every hole and enter way and it’s all clear but there is probably a blocked enter way in carburetor that still block but I may need you carburetor with new gas it’s
The 4 wealer is so new never had miles put on it my cousins father got it for his daughter but she didn’t like it so it sat in rain snow sand for I don’t know how long I got it 1 mouth ago so I got new spark kit 2 weeks ago I think so it never Ben drove so it has factory compression and basically new
Well I got it running today I had carburetor above starter so I turn the aluminum pipe around and now carburetor is above the valves so the carburetor is at better angle
I have a son-of-bitch-diro (sundiro) sunray that I was battling for several years. It was personal! But I finally figured out it was the crank seals. It had zero vacuum at the carb. I tried everything literally before I took the motor out and disassembled it. The crank seal on the left side (if I remember right) had 1/8" gap all the around it. I can't believe it ever ran. I took the seal everywhere I could think of. I couldn't get anyone to even try or look for a replacement. I finally took 1/8" rubber and glued it around the outside of the seal and stuffed it back in there. Put everything back, checked the Reed valve, checked every other seal, stomped on the kick start after spraying some of the mixed fuel in carb and ba ba ba ba woo-hoo! Ha ha I won! Still doesn't like staying running while cold, working on that now. Any advice? Thank you!
Hey i have a question so my son was riding his quad parked it and went to start it back uo and it wont start checked the battery it was good the solinoid clicks but wont start i even tried touching it with a screw driver it does not spark i replaced it anyway went out the next day and now its saying the battery is bad so i jumped it off my car battery so im getting power but it still just clicks when i hit the button dont even sound like it want to start do you know what it could be please and thank you
Jumping off the car is not good, even though it's same voltage it can cause damage. How old is the battery? It sounds like you either have a weak battery or a bad starter..
MrFixit battery is about 8-9 months old I just put new solenoid on it and it's not that I tried touching it with screwdriver didn't work so I'm going to put a new starter on and see what happens
Have you tried spraying some carburetor cleaner into the carburetor to see if it will run? If it catches and runs for a little while, then you will need to repair or replace the carburetor.
You indicated that it cranks and fires, but wont start and run. If it fires at all, then it would indicate it has compression and spark, the only thing left would be proper fuel metering. You may want to do a compression and spark test to be sure.
My dirt bike will not start but it has compression and spark and I’ve changed the spark plug and clean the fuel filter and still had no luck. The bike try’s to start but then blows white smoke out the exhaust and flames if anyone knows what’s wrong with it or how to fix it let me know thanks

You can use a test light or meter. if you have alligator clips, that would help.

Nothing nothing happens when to try to turn the key on is there a fuse in line
The model I worked on did not. Check the starter relay. But also make sure your battery is good.

My rocketa fourwheeler won’t start, and it will make the sound when electric start but it won’t actually fire

Just got one brand new and the kiddo was driving and when braking it will cut off. Any idea what it could be?
Does it start right back up? If it does may need an idle adjust or the float is high not holding allowing enough fuel in the bowl possibly.
MrFixit yeah starts right up. How do I adjust the idle? Is it off the handle?
The one I worked on had an adjustment screw on the side of the carburetor, make small adjustments.

Make sure you ground the tip or threaded sides of the plug to test.

Check the starter and work back to the switch...it could be wiring related..

Check the starter, if you have a new battery the starter should crank fairly easily.

They do make sleeve adapters, I just don't if they make for the difference your looking for. Just do a search.

Since it was sitting, the carburetor would be what suffers the most. Hopefully you can get it cleaned out.

There may be a button on your frame or under your seat that keeps it from starting
