    I'm going to post this one more time. I knew nothing about Ocean City until moving to Maryland. The beach is 10 miles long. Basically it depends on what you're looking for and your age group where you should stay. Eat sleep Hangout all those other good things.
    The lower numbers is where the yong crowd hangs out.
    Drinking blasting music screaming and yelling partying like mad takes place in the lower numbers the closer you are to the rides basically.
    The further up you go the more expensive the hotels are you're going to find middle-aged couples trying to get away from it all. Peaceful better quality food more expensive hotels cleaner and quiet. I personally stay at the Princess Royale. There are too of them, one located on the ocean one located on the Bayside . The one that's located on the Bayside is less expensive the one facing the ocean is more expensive and nicer. Now you can make an educated decision on the layout and your stay at Ocean City

    Hi. I know this is an old video but I look at it every year to help me decide on a Hotel to stay at each year. I usually stay at the Clarion but there isn't a boardwalk at that end. It's quiet at that end but not much to do. Sometimes want the hustle bustle on the boards. So, thanks again 😉

    • @Mr.Robert1
      @Mr.Robert1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The hustle and the bustle is in the lower numbers. When I was young and wanted all that nonsense I used to stay in the teens. When I got older and did not want to hear the noise I stayed at the Princess Royale. There are too of them, one on the ocean one on the Bayside. The one on the Bayside is less expensive obviously. It is high-end and you will not hear all the noise and nonsense from people running around drinking and partying. It's for the mature crowd.

    Ocean city is a nice vacation town that served people from the early 20th century to present . It starts on the pier with small shops , motels and rides as you travel down the boardwalk there is many stores and each small streets have little stores and the further you get its less stores and more hotels to high rises . The beach is grand as the ocean has decent waves crashing in . The smell àt the pier is a smell of French fries and vinegar and many more food smells that you have to try. The first time I went was a small kid in 1965 and we stayed by the pier which they call old Ocean city and it was only going up to 12street and dunes on the beach before high rises as hippies hung out and biķers but the 70s i hitch hiked there once and the 70s i would go a weekend since your money didnt last long and so all you did was hang on the beach most of the day then walk the boardwalk eat walk more go back and sleep some shower and look for girls or head to a bar. Later in life i would work on my Dads trailer there for a weekend stay . The last time there was 1990 . Lots of memories.

Normally it would be eastern Europeans present as we were told but that time the Irish flocked. Had a brilliant time. Next time im in Washington or new York I'm definitely going down for a few days. Good memories. Was there for spring break and 4th July. Great atmosphere

    Spent many summers here, late 60's through the 1980's.. Walked the boards many, many times, had a lot of fun, from Thrashers Fries, Dolle's Caramel Popcorn, Candy Kitchen, Soft serve icecream cones, chocolate dipped frozen bananas, The Alaska Stand burger and Fries, etc. Rides on the end of the boardwalk, Trimpers... Ahhh, memories. I think the boardwalks ends at 27th street? My parents owned a place in northern OC from 74,to 87. It was so hard when my Mom had to sell it.. I worked my very first job at Burger King on 33rd St. in the summers of 80 and 81.
    Some of my family took their kids and grandkids in 2010 to Assateague and spent the day on the boardwalk. They didn't enjoy it as much, not as family friendly anymore..

    Wow the tram has it's own path now? When I used to go the tram would run right on the boards of the boardwalk. There were 2 white lines that ran down the center and every so often you'd have to move over so it could pass. I used to go every summer but it's been YEARS since I went last. 23 yrs I believe since I went last. I'm sure everything has changed 😞
    Edit: ok so I commented before I even got halfway through, I see it still runs on the actual boardwalk 🤗

      Its about the same amount of time past for me. I had my honeymoon there in September 1989. Back in the late 60's, thru the 70's and 80's it was much more casual and laid-back (as I'm sure most northeastern shore towns were). Now I call it "Fort Lauderdale North". Just TOO MUCH of people, bars, restaurants, stores, cops, condos, and generally everything. I used to be able to "cruise" from the inlet all the way up to 100th street and back again in 30 minutes in August. Try doing that now, ha ha ha. Just too many people (because of high-rise development) crammed into too little space for the summer. Nice to see that some of the "old" institutions are still there in some form, though. OC has now morphed into 3 distinct towns: OC, North OC, and Fenwick Island. Sort of like the Wildwood NJ of long ago.

    I grew up in Maryland and OC was our weekend or week beach get away. Now that I've moved away I've learned you can go to an all inclusive Carrabean or Mexican resort for less than what they charge for crappy hotels in Ocean City. Some places charge $300-$400 a night, and I mean crappy places. Supply and demand is why it's so expensive there. People from Maryland, D,C, Virginia, West Virginia and Pennsylvania all competing for reservations. It's a pretty cool place to visit if it's all you have, but think of your financial options.

    • @blemast
      @blemast 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, sadly, it's not how it use to be, that's for sure. Our Capstan apartments on 25th Street (facing the beach) were torn down like ten years ago now and replaced with what looks like a holiday inn haha damn it. At least my family has tons and tons of memories and vacations of staying on 25th Street. My immediate family (mom, dad and sister) use to drive every summer from Illinois, to go to Ocean City and visit our family out in Maryland. It was the best part of my year, every summer, growing up. Thankful for that.

Next person down there please tell Trashers French fries to provide ketchup so maybe then we will purchase some. Have over 200 resturants. Dumsers ice cream rocks. North park is great all year long. Go walking & crabbing there in summer and always visit the millon light Christmas show except this year when they stopped tram cars from transporting you but let you walk it. Always bring home a ton of salt water taffies, fudge & tubs if carmel popcorn. Mmm mmm good.
