      This is a very good spot to fish around that area. It gets pretty busy over the weekends.

      It was good fun. You were actually really fast with your kayak. Only a few minutes behind at each spot. Was impressive.

    Lovely video guys!! About the bananas.....Back in the day, fruit and veggies would over-ripen too quickly and spoil because bananas were near to them aboard trading ships. So, bananas were banned for a while and regarded as bad luck coz they ruined other foodstuffs. That's all.

    I've never fished there, Drive past it all the time going to Orere Point. Must check it out. Can you easily get your kayak to the ramp by the wharf, or do you need to launch at the beach and paddle around?

    • @Fishingreminder
      @Fishingreminder  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      nah, the wharf is a bit too far to drag the kayak to, much easier to launch at the beach and paddle around. Or launch at the kawakawa bay boat ramp and paddle straight to the islands from there. There is a good current running in this bay. If you time it right you can paddle to the islands and then slowly drift all the way back to the boat ramp.

    Try putting a berley trail out near reefs.

    • @Fishingreminder
      @Fishingreminder  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great idea. Although I never bother with berley as I don't want any sharks near my inflatable, LOL

    What's kind of reels do you use?

    • @Fishingreminder
      @Fishingreminder  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Justin, I'm using Penn Spinfisher reels for softbaiting and a Penn Slammer for bigger lures for kingies.

    • @justinnznz
      @justinnznz ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Fishingreminder both great reel as waterproofed 👍

    • @Fishingreminder
      @Fishingreminder  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@justinnznz yeah exactly. I used to muck around with non-waterproof reels but they just need so much care and maintenance. Especially if you fish from small boats and kayaks. Very happy with the Penn reels. Super robust.
