O nice, must head out there again. This little mission was in April already. I didn't think you'd get Trevally there in winter. That's good news as I really like eating them, haha.
Mint video mate , shame you didnt get into anything substantial but cracking spot eh. I had 2 days fishing there on me kayak summer gone. I paddled out to those islands sat in the middle of them, a local said there was a deep hole that held bigger snapper and i did get one of the bigger ones , as well as on the corner as you head around towards the mussel farm. Absolutely gorgeous spot
thanks mate, yeah what a nice spot. We were there just at the end of the season. So fishing was a bit slow. I bet early and late summer is a great time to catch some biggies around there. I'll have a look for the hole next time. It's also quite good around the cape I believe. It's not that much further from the islands. Good effort paddling out there on a yak.
A good New Zealand fishing video . #smallboatfishingNewZealand
We stayed the Okiwi holiday park a few years ago. It was not a big camp but a great base for getting to French Pass and the sounds
Beauty of a spot I was in their on the bike in summer. Nice to see those blue cod. Those spotties give you a good, tasty little fillet.
yeah, spotties are actually surprisingly good eating. They taste very clean. I usually scale and fry them whole. They fit nicely into a big pan :)
Oh We love to eat spotties as well. They taste actually great! Very similar taste to blue cod or flounder👍
Hey mark left hand side out to the cape you will get gurnard ,trevally and big cod this time of year , cheers , shaneo, Nelson, 🍺👍
