Sadly, fable 2 only seems to run for the very beginning of the game at the moment. Once you get past the intro and become an adult you'll likely encounter many texture bugs and crashes. Canary runs it better, with patches, but still can't progress very far without GPU crashes on the Ally

I'm surprised how far the performance differences between xenia canary and rpcs3 when I tried rdr 1. I cant get anything above 20fps on armadillo when using rpcs3 in 15 watts power, but lo and behold, xenia can get to 25+ fps out of the box with the same wattage power, and i think the game looks so much better too.
Xenia won't let me play skate 3, it launches the game correctly but i can't get past the intro and get to actual gameplay, instead it just open an error window that says : Faulting thread name I am using a Lenovo Legion Go Handheld device with Windows 11 and Emudeck/emulationstation.

So I'm pretty new to newer emulators, last one I had was for the OG nes. I've been doing my reading and researching and just got an rog Ally. I'm trying to get Xbox 360 NCAA football 14. I went the emu deck route and have that downloaded however I've been reading about bios. Is that something I need for a 360 game or no? Any help would be appreciated.

The emulator automatically detects and sets up the built in controller of the Ally. If it’s not detecting the controller, make sure that gamepad is selected for the control mode in the command center overlay.

OK, making custom config files is a nightmare, just add the codes this guy is mentioning into Steam Launch Options, much less time consuming and works well. I tested with all games for launching in fullscreen, launch option is "--fullscreen=true" I tested Blue Dragon, the D3D12 option is no longer the same, it's under GPU, but you can put in launch options "--clear_memory_page_state=true" I reccomend just adding the lines you need into Steam Launch Options, save yourself the hassle of altering the configs on a per game basis, this just saves it. For example, copy and paste this into launch options for Blue Dragon to get it to run in fullscreen and not crash after the logo, "--clear_memory_page_state=true --fullscreen=true" Hope this helps folks.

There's not much on the 360 that isn't already ported to pc. Most of the exclusive games I don't care about. It's disappointing because I had so much fun with the 360 back in the day.
one thing people fail to mention is xbox 360 outsold ps3 all the way up till when ps4 and xbox one released, for whatever reason there was surge in ps3 sales when the generation was dying.

Showing Kingdon Under Fire: Circle of Doom. Legend. Such a forgotten game. Also incredibly sad that Amped 3 has so many issues. It's my favourite snowboarding game.
I followed the steps in the video, but I think either I'm doing something wrong or maybe it's the version of Xenia Canary that's causing the problems. The game I'm trying to play is Ninja Gaiden 2, but for some reason once the game gets past the initial loading screen it has A LOT of slow down to the point that it won't even load in after picking what difficulty level I would like to play on. Also for some reason after trying to play Ninja Gaiden 2 several times with the same results my Ally was giving me problems and after several restarts it reverted my home screen back to a configuration that I had set weeks ago.
Interesting, I did not experience that issue at all except for the issues with Team Ninja games that be fixed in the config file. I definitely recommend trying out the build that I was using for the video, which I have linked here: github.com/xenia-canary/xenia-canary/releases/tag/9333373 Your other issue sounds like Windows might've reverted back to a system restore point since you mentioned that you had to do several restarts.
@@retrotechdad Thank you I really appreciate it, but I figured out what the problem was and it is potentially a much bigger one. For some reason Windows wasn't reading the Gpu drivers. In the device manager settings it was saying that Windows could't read the Amd Radeon Graphics and there was an error 31. I tried reinstalling the graphics drivers and other troubleshooting methods, but nothing seemed to work. But, when I woke up this morning now in device manager it seems that the drivers are working properly now even though in real time monitor it currently is reading 0% Gpu with 0mhz and 0 apu Watts (which is impossible).
PS3 games came on Blu-ray discs which could hold far more data compared to the double layer DVDs that Xbox 360 came on. I think a lot of developers just utilized the available storage and didn't bother compressing data.
As lots of others have commented, I keep getting "Graphics Driver Lost" crashes, and other random crashes at launch of just about every single 360 games ive tried (Forza 3 and 4, Halo 3, Halo 4, Halo Reach, etc). And yes, all drivers on my Rog Ally are up to date. Ive even tried setting the gpu backend to D3D12 and Vulkan, no change.
Did you incorporate changes I suggested in the beginning of the video? In the config file make sure the following is set: mount_cache=true apu_max_queued_frames=3 I have not tested Halo 3, 4, or Reach specifically since those have PC versions available. Forza 3 requires d3d12_readback_resolve=true Which version of Xenia Canary are you using? I recommend to try the specific build I've tested all the games in this video with which is linked in my description.
Great tutorial Tech Dad. I would like to add another suggestion to Xenia config file. Under GPU change gpu_allow_invalid_fetch_constants to True. With out this enabled some 360 import games like the Cave shmups games will have sound but no graphics on the screen. This change will make those games playable.

Yes it is perfectly safe to leave this setting enabled. This will also work on the UAP versions of Xenia that runs on the Series consoles.@@retrotechdad
loving my ally, got it a few weeks ago and it's a beast, haven't tried ps3 or 360 emulation yet but just gaming overall it's great, had no issues yet but looking forward to trying out more systems.

omg - thank you so much!!! I initially tried Xenia in Batocera Linux and realized Lutris wasn't cutting it. I configured Xenia Canary using your suggestions and one of my favorite games, Ilomilo works in Windows without a hitch! This Ally is truly amazing - my xbox360 has been gathering dust (I don't think I've turned it on in over a year or two) and now I can bring my games on the go and finally finish all the games I actually bought! (yes, other games are tempting and will surely play them but I figure I should prioritize games like Ilomilo Lol). A rainy day project will be to figure out how to connect my KINECT to my Ally cuz that's why I bought my xbox360 in the first place - for Dance Central! 🕺

I got import tuner challenge working but for some weird reason the gas button only detects half throttle and can't accelerate at full throttle even tho I have the gas trigger all the way down :/ any suggestions?
I'm doing this for a regular PC but man thank you so much for the patches and especially the Tokyo Xtreme Racer patch, I had no idea that was a thing. Great tastes in games, man. NG2! All these shmup! I hope all the Ally and Deck owners give those games a try

No game works on my Asus rog ally z1 Xtreme. No Ridge Racer 6, no Forza Horizon. Everything crashes. Do I have to set anything else?

My issue with Xenia is I can't get but a few games to not crash, and the light issue. I have yet to find a fix to any of it.

Most of them have been ported to PC or elsewhere. I covered a good number of them in this video so there isn't too many worthwhile ones beyond this.

Why are 360 games sizes smaller than the ps3 versions? Ufc 3 is like 7 gb on 360 and 20gb on ps3.. anybody know?

omg - thank you so much!!! I initially tried Xenia in Batocera Linux and realized Lutris wasn't cutting it. I configured Xenia Canary using your suggestions and one of my favorite games, Ilomilo works in Windows without a hitch! This Ally is truly amazing - my xbox360 has been gathering dust (I don't think I've turned it on in over a year or two) and now I can bring my games on the go and finally finish all the games I actually bought! (yes, other games are tempting and will surely play them but I figure I should prioritize games like Ilomilo Lol). A rainy day project will be to figure out how to connect my KINECT to my Ally cuz that's why I bought my xbox360 in the first place - for Dance Central! 🕺

It might sound simple but have you tried updating your drivers? If you're using an Ally, check in the MyASUS tool for the latest AMD drivers.

I tried everything to get that one working, it's one of the games I mentioned in the beginning of the video with issues.
It is working with the XG mobile without issue. I just can't make it work with Rog Ally stand alone.

I got import tuner challenge working but for some weird reason the gas button only detects half throttle and can't accelerate at full throttle even tho I have the gas trigger all the way down :/ any suggestions?
Old comment but the ROG Ally by default is not configured right go into aurmory crate , calibration and recalibrate the triggers. Had to do that.
I'm doing this for a regular PC but man thank you so much for the patches and especially the Tokyo Xtreme Racer patch, I had no idea that was a thing. Great tastes in games, man. NG2! All these shmup! I hope all the Ally and Deck owners give those games a try
