- Its spring! my amaryllis I started from seeds on May of 2011, fast forward to April 2014. I don't know why but my amaryllis started flowering when they where 2 years old, maybe because I lived in Florida or the variety, who knows. I moved last May 2013 from FL and was only able to take half of them with me, left the rest with my mom.
I stopped watering them on October and put them in a dark cool place in the basement in till early April, thats about 5 month with out watering them ones. I saw that every single one of them had a flower spike so repotted them with fresh new soil and gave them a good drink and put them outside. there is a couple of them with double flower spike! im still putting them back inside when I see the temps go below freezing.
Such a great video. I have been searching for this kind of video, where I could see the whole evolution, from seed to flower. Finally I found it! Thank you! 1+ like
P.s. I did self-pollinating on an amaryllis in my school. When the seeds were ready, I took them home and put them in water. They began to germinate! I am so happy. :)

From where you got this size of big bulb let us know so we can buy also.
I got my first one from a local store, a lot of places put them on sell for the holidays here. Also lots of websites sell them too.
@@Hermit4321 can you tell me where you from coz here in India it's rarely available in local nursery this size of bulb.

Una pregunta, cuantos años se tsrda la semilla en florecer????
En la Florida, donde no hace tanto frío, tomó aproximadamente 2 años, normalmente 3 a 5 años.

thank for the comment but i dont understand what your saying. but maybe your asking what substrate im using, its just normal miracle grow potting mix from store.
En k mes se plantan y cuando se le cortan las hojas
necesitan 2 a 3 meses de un lugar fresco, seco y oscuro con cero agua. las hojas se secan solas y luego puedes cortarlas. Después de 2 a 3 meses es posible que vea que la flor comienza a salir, luego puede regarla y traerla de vuelta al sol.
