    I don't say that it's right, but many people complain always when a new system is out because it's different than something they're used to. I prefer personally waiting, before installing windows 11, that all bugs are fixed and that there is no loss in performance compared to Windows 10.

    well done - I just built this new gen 10 i5 desktop so been prepping it for win 11 - just did mbr2gpt and all went great on my nvme drive - but just figuring to see what early bugs appear on win11 before jumping in - figure to use it for another 10 yrs or so like my last desktop since I'm mostly an office type app user and just need basics - also I got some older software I do not want to orphan - but also prefer security related support at a minimum. Win 10 I expect will get ongoing security support beyond the 2025 end date published by MS due to the huge installed base on older machines - I have 10 yr old laptops on win 10 with no issues and as long as they run ok, I see no need to replace them - at least until all security patches stop.

    I have a couple of pc's which MS confirm will run Win 11 and I have one which I use that is already Win 11. With all of my research and my own limited experience, I have decided to use MS's download assistant to upgrade my 2 pc's. It seems to me that most complaints revolve around "first impression" views of the screen, panic because it's different and not bothering to look further. I like how Win 11 looks and performs. I prefer the start menu to the one with Win 10 and I'm positive about Win 11's future.

    The drag-and-drop issue seems to be by design. The trick is to start dragging, then - while still dragging(!) - use ALT+TAB to open the target window, and then drop the file in there. It's something to get used to, but it definitely works - and it kind of makes sense. Thanks for the video.

Now it is working fine although I noticed my laptop fan is particularly loud when I am gaming. • @obinator9065
      @obinator9065 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually that’s pretty easy to “fix”. You just need to turn off ‘Virtual Based Security’ features. 11 was using 10-15% of my i9 in idle, now it’s back to a normal 1% and memory also dropped from 22% to 14% (32 GB; but ‘unused ram is bad ram’).
      But these features aren’t causing problems on the 11th generation. That’s also why we manually have to upgrade and didn’t immediately see the upgrade option. Security issues are getting too common.

    I'm enjoying Windows 11 on my less than 3 month old Dell G15 Ryzen Gaming Edition laptop with 5800H and 130w 3060 rtx... it is a really nice looking OS that I enjoy using. Sure it has some bugs and slight irritations, but I have full confidence it will be a perfect OS given some time, feedback and patches.. I hope they fix the AMD CPU slow down issue very soon.. although I haven't noticed any difference in gaming performance under windows 11.. far cry 6 runs amazingly well.

      @@LironSegev This is very true.. I have always been an early adopter.. been using computers since I was a young kid in the late 80s with a commodore 64 (my first computer} I still remember the first time I fired up GEOS on it over 30 years ago and being blown away that such a limited system could run a full GUI OS that rivalled and was better than what both Windows and OSX offered at the time.. I've used eveey version of Windows from 3.0 to 11.. and ever since Windows Vista I have installed the beta versions of relase candidate on my main PCs.. I'm strange for this I'm sure- but I just love operating systems, I get just as excited of a new version of Windows as I do when my favourite AAA game is released... So far I'm very pleased with the way design choices Microsoft are going for with Windows 11.. I do feel it was released a little early though and needs some polish here and there, along with some features brought back i.e. drag a drop to task bar... Though I have full confidence it will get there with future updates. All in all even as it is now, it's a great OS imho and I might be a minority here, but I love the widgets menu, it just needs a to-do list, audio player and a few other things to be truely useful.

    I really hope someone will find a way to customize the primary right-click menu so you can add your most used shell extensions there for ease of use.
    I actually think it is a good idea to have a "more" menu to declutter while not outright removing options you use once in a while - but you have to be able to choose what goes where!
    There are a handful of shell extensions I use constantly, and one extra unnecessary click every time I use those options can slow down workflow and annoy you much more than you would think. The mouse is a great tool for navigation, but it will always be much slower and prone to misclicks than keyboard shortcuts.
    Ideally you should be able to move every action between the primary and secondary menus - including the default ones. Advanced users rarely click on the most basic functions like "rename" anyway because
    it is much faster to just use hot keys for those instead.
    Come to think of it - it would be great to assign custom hot keys to items on the context menu too (for those often used shell extensions). Having a configuration screen where you can shuffle items and manage the hot keys should not be hard to implement, and I think it would improve workflow fluidity power users immensely for relatively little work.
    I like what they have done with the clipboard at least. An easy way to manage multiple copy-paste brings a lot of potential improvement in workflow flexibility.

    People hate new things because someone influential who doesn't like change tells them to [I can think of another iteration widely hated for a single reason, and virtually no one used the few other features that were changed]. I'm on the fence about Windows 11. I'm learning more before I make up my mind. But I'm not going to automatically hate something because it looks different, and I'm definitely not going to hate something because someone else tells me to just because they didn't get their way.

    I love it so far, only had some very minor issues. I'm not even 100% sure my Ryzen has a slow down issue, the benchmarks I've done so far are more or less with in specs. Its a 3600X and all i see people mention, or mostly anyway, are 5000 series. Cinnebench scores are about the same and geekbench 5 compared to the scores I could find on their boards is a bit off but that could be due to slight overclocks or what ever, its not big enough to say for sure. Guess I'll see next week. I have not noticed anything in games. Probably because I dont play games at 360 fps.... xD

    Not to be rude, but you ignored one of the biggest bugs with 11, the AMD performance bug. - Having been an insider since 2014 I would have to say that 11 would have to be the worst for performance problems out of every OS I have tried, not to mention the way that M$ have blocked a lot of things that we used to be able to do with our OS's (or just made them impossible to find) - So for now since rolling back to windows 10 (for the second time) I am playing the waiting game to see what they come up with, and am advising my friends and others to wait and see before jumping in.

    Hi bro, I found an issue after updating windows 11, all the icons of system apps (like setting, store, calculator, and any apps download from store) became transparent in the taskbar, is there any way to fix it?
    I've tried many methods which I learned from google and youtube, but all failed, I'm about to be crazy. CRYING

    The only issue I've encountered has been a Bluetooth issue. Before updating to Windows 11 I could connect no dramas, but since the update my phone cannot even see my pc. I've uninstalled the bt drivers then reinstalled them I've confirmed that bt is "on" but cannot find the pc with any device. Hope for a fix soon.

    Here's a novel idea! Use Ubuntu Linux or some other flavor. I cut the Linux computer on and it boots in less than 20 seconds while I can run a 30 minute errand and Windows is still booting. Windows is a POS and will always be a POS. It's for mindless point and click monopoly users! Windows reminds me of someone who loves where they live and would never live anywhere else. Because they have never been anywhere else!

    Every new version of anything has to change something that was already working before, just to justify the "new" version, I find that terribly annoying and boring, Android does that all the time with every version, Windows is the same, otherwise nobody will notice the "improvements", my arse.

    • @LironSegev
      @LironSegev  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      by definition a new version means something changes to something already working. So basically we should just be riding horses as they were "working" before?

      @GA-br8wj 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LironSegev You understood the point perfectly, do not play coy. Many programs add improvements without making changes to the basic UI or how it works, Microsoft and other could do the same, keep the basics and add a personalization layer (optional) with as many novelties as you like.
