      @@v.german11b 🤣 I never said any of that. My point is simple: People looking for a decent affordable pistol can spend $300-$400 for a Canik, Shield plus, Mossberg or countless others that are proven. $600 for a new and unproven single stack pistol is laughable in 2023. It’s a solution to a problem that doesn’t exist. I own many pistols, but no Hi Points. If you don’t already own one, you should go man bra shopping. Is this a test gun that was sent to several reviewers? The barrel has a lot of wear on the exterior of the hood and the feed ramp area. There's a lot to like here. So many great features in both being thin/compact and strength. It make me want to try this one out. However, the trigger is a deal breaker. That long take up followed by a long pull that appears a little stagey and then a break all the way at the frame is just awful for a gun produced in 2023. That would have been marginally OK in 2003 but not today. I know I can be a bit of a trigger snob but the trigger is what connects YOU to the firing of the gun. The on switch is the most important part of training accurate, repeatable combat and/or target shooting

  • @jpk9171jpk
    @jpk9171jpk ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Graham are you buddies with Rob and that’s why you’re giving this such a positive review? Anyone with have a brain can see that this is an obsolete design. Because it was designed pre p365.

    • @GBGuns
      @GBGuns  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I consider Rob a friend, but that has nothing to do with my assessment of this firearm. The build matches his intent very well. This is a gun that can be carried AND trained with. I've yet to see anyone willingly run a microcompact in a training course. Micro co.pact magazines are no fun to load and guns of the 365 size are difficult to spend a full day of training with.

    • @jpk9171jpk
      @jpk9171jpk ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@GBGuns my p365xl I have no issues shooting 200 rounds in one day with. it’s also better for concealment because it has a shorter grip. So let’s take the p365 macro. The new one without the comp. The slide is the same width which is the part that matters sense it’s what goes in your waist band . grip is .1 inches wider. Gives you 17 rounds, what I’d assume has better texture from the looks of the p10, Less likely to cause accidental slide lock (issue with most Glock style pistols) 10 times more modularity and after market support, much better mag well for reloading, the price is a little more but comes with 4 mags ( why only 2 mags with the p10 if it’s to train with out of the box). why is the thing on the p10 mag shaped like that? If it’s for stripping mags why isn’t it shaped like a finger stop. Who still uses an xd style loaded chamber indicator? Used single stack carry guns don’t sell so why would this? If this came out in 2017 it would have been a decent option. But it’s 6 years too late.

      @@RobPincusPro I’d say in this situation his friendship with you is clouding his judgement. But what he should have done is tell you this is a bad idea to bring this gun out. As for a single stack yes they are obsolete. When you can gain 7 more rounds by adding .1” to a grip and the grip still isn’t wider than the slide there’s no reason not to take that trade off. Hence why that’s what sells today. I also prefer guns that hold more than 10 round’s because for some reason that’s the anti gunners magic # that they want to limit us too.

    It looks like a gun which may be lackluster on the spec charts, but a winner in the hand.
    The block on the rear of the recoil spring looks like it'd do a good job of dumping slide energy directly into that beefy locking block.
    Also looks like the grip is set up to do that thing with pushing into the web of your hand (Archon B?) to tighten your grip.

    I think the story of Avidity Arms is how a bad marketing/media campaign can ruin a good gun design. I like the gun and the concept. But, with decades of hints, teases, and "I get to shoot the PD10 and you can't" videos, AA pretty much killed off any enthusiasm that the gun world had for it. And it was one of many factors that hurt Rob Pincus' reputation over the years. When Glock beats your company to the "innovation" of a single-stack, polymer-frame 9mm carry gun, then your company really needs to take a hard look in the mirror.
    Looking forward to the range review. I'd also like to see you try other 9mm 1911 mags and get some trigger weight measurements, if possible.

    No doubt that if you knew you were going to be in a shoot out you'd take the best shooting pistol you own. I own 8 9mm pistols of every size from a P365 to an XDM with a 5" barrel. But for every day convenience I pocket carry an LCP2. It is so thin, small and lightweight that you literally have to feel for the pistol to make sure it's there. Love it for that as it feels like your carrying nothing but still have the same stopping power of ANY pistol caliber (see The Best Handgun Caliber - A Real World Study). When I feel like more accuracy may be needed I'll slip in my pocket my P365 which shoots quite well at IDPA & ASI competitions. I'd love to see a comparison video of the Shield Plus 4" ported barrel with the PD10 as my Shield Plus is one of my best accurate shooting pistols, but my P365 & P365XL aren't to far behind. (My 2nd Gen P10 C is even slightly more accurate but I consider it to be a full size pistol).

That the trigger bar to striker is not very similar to a Glock. If I am way off, where did the thought or idea to design this gun come from? Only thing not Glock-ish is the magazine.

    • @GBGuns

      The takedown is similar, but the BROWNING action is as most semi auto have been since before Glock. The internal construction is different, but yes it's striker-fired. Pause the video at the exploded diagram, or pull it from the website.

      My understanding is that the single stack could be very thin and easy thus easy to conceal while also accommodating a wide variety of hand sizes and shapes. Whether this helps it compete with the micro compact double stacks remains to be seen.

    Do you like G-Code holsters? I've never tried them. I primarily use Vedder but also like Muddy River Tactical and Tulster holsters. All 3 have a lightning quick turnaround. I think I checked out G-Code but something turned me away. Can't remember but maybe it was a very long wait period.

    • @GBGuns
      @GBGuns  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We've not tried them before. One thing I have learned is not all holsters are equal, even from the same maker when it comes to different gun models. New gun means openly looking into new holsters. For example I've used CrossBreed for my K100 and liked the first one, but the second one, and one for the 365XL is not the same cant, height, etc.

      @@GBGuns No sir it hasn't, I've just seen too many cop mag dump videos hitting suspect 10+ times with a 9mm and they continue to run off. 9mm penetration is my issue, seems to just punch holes and not stop in target in real world applications. Only reason people flock to 9mm so much is bc the FBI and cops use it but that's just bc they can't shoot and have no recoil control. It's not a more effective round it's a more controllable round

    • @GBGuns
