Marshall is a fantastic actor
His voice so beautiful.
I'm here because of Herbert Marshall. Thank you.
Great movie. Sylvia Sydney and Herbert Marshall are splendid.
Oh I love this! I’m surprised I’ve never heard of it since Herbert Marshall and Sylvia Sidney are two great favorites. Thank you for this gem and all the outstanding classics you share.
🥰 Thank you 👍Always enjoy watching Herbert Marshall 🎥🎞🥰
This movie makes me miss my husband, who was 21 years older than me, so much that sometimes it’s too heartbreaking to watch! But so well acted that it’s hard not to watch! 😁
This is by far the best film I had never heard of before but just by accident discovered on YT. It is an emblem of my life, and I was that "Old Love" incarnate, which I could not possibly regret. Thank you!!!!!
Herbert Marshall is one of my all time favourites. Loved him in Razors edge.
Fantastic!
Immaculate movie. Thank you for this.
Surprising and delightful. Thank you!!
The sheer dramatic brilliance of this astonishing film demands a curtain call of adulatory comment. Love is a splendid thing.
I think they had Oscars at this time. I’m surprised they both didn’t win one. Of course in those days the acting in general was of such a high caliber that competition was stiff!
Splendoured.
Since I just found your channel , it’s great all the beautiful dramas you have , I’m enjoying them one after another! Thank you , and God Bless you and your family, keep you all safe . ❤😊🙏❤️🇨🇦
Silvia, I love you. 🥰 Really enjoyed this one. Thanks RS&T
❤❤❤ very very thank you
Sooo cute
Pure delight!!
Love Sylvia Sidney she one of the greatest actors back then , she can truly act ! Ima big fan .
"heatherbowlan1961," She's "one of the greatest," spot on. And she's of the generation and MIND SET where she would poo-poo the 2024 pc practice of labeling everyone in front of the camera, "actor."
. . . .
"'One of the greatest actresses' spells it out accurately -- and quite nicely," Sylvia Sidney would say.
. . . . .
As a recent example of how this EVERYONE in front of the camera is an "actor" is preposterous and has gone too far -- sex of the performer be damned -- readers of the Los Angeles Times' lengthy obituary on actor Ryan O'Neal last month (Dec. 2023) would be forgiven for thinking the avowed, notorious 'hound,' 'ladies man' was gay because of the use of that 'one-size-fits-all' word when describing THE incident that broke up his relationship with longtime significant other, actress Farrah Fawcett. The paper claimed Fawcett arrived home unexpectedly, hours early, at their Malibu Beach house and chanced upon O'Neal in an intimate act, in their bed, with 'an actor with whom they were both friends.'
The editorial staff was so determined to go along with retiring forever "the [supposedly] demeaning classification 'actress'", that readers of The Times could not help but conclude Fawcett was betrayed both by O'Neal's act of infidelity but also his true sexual orientation.
. . . . .
"Thank you, 'Rare Silents and Talkies' for uploading and presenting this gem, 'Accent on Youth.'"
Love all your films. Thank you for sharing it.
Thanks for posting ,"Shop around the corner,"and "Trouble in Paradise "are among my favourite films, this was a charming movie with the lovely Sylvia Sidney and Herbert Marshall.
Youth is wasted on the young, and the dramatization of various episodes are certainly enhanced through a more mature writing of them❤
A young secretary ( Sylvia Sidney) falls in love with her boss (Herbert Marshall) ,a middle-aged playwright.complications ensue when her boss’s son ( Phillip Reed) falls for her ! Pretty fine mess they got into, huh? Well, love ❤️ knows no boundaries-or age! Ms Sidney and Mr Marshall are both great in this comedy-they had good chemistry! Good to watch! 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Gratifying ending..who would have thought..what a cad the husband ended up being..a true test to how things should have ended..how life mimicked the play..❤
Great film and cast. I rate this a 10.
I’ve met so many guys like Dickie. 😂
This was a wonderful movie. I would like to see someone restore it if possible.
