The Lady Has Plans is a 1942 American comedy film spy thriller film directed by Sidney Lanfield and starring Ray Milland, Paulette Goddard and Roland Young. It was produced ad distributed by Paramount Pictures as a World War II espionage film set in neutral Portugal.
Dastardly criminals have stolen some top secret plans and tattooed them on the back of a woman so she can sell them to the highest bidder in Lisbon. This woman plans to take the place of a 'Sidney Royce', a legitimate traveler going to Lisbon as a reporter. Crossed signals allows the real Sidney to reach Portugal first, where she is pursued by those trying to obtain the plans and US government agents trying to prevent the sale.
There will never be another Roland Young. I’ve so enjoyed everything that he was in.
🎉Top
notch🎉
I like espionage films. I'm a huge double, 07 fan. And this is right in there with the best of them.❤
I love the fact, but there's no sex or foul language!
Thank you for another golden oldie!🎉
This is a great movie! Should be more well known. Paulette is excellent!
First time I've seen this movie and as usual, very entertaining, especially with the lovely Paulette Goddard. Ray Milland does an excellent job as does Roland Young as both played their parts well. A great movie to watch again. Joe S
Lovely old movie, some good repartee and Ray Milland was rather dashing.
Loved it! It is so good to watch movies that you don't have to worry about bad language or sex scenes. Thank you so much!
Ignore the negative comments. Just by virtue of the fact that you are looking here considering watching this move means I can guarantee you will love it!
Roland Young's a real scene stealer in this one.
Loved it. Always thought Ray Milland was so handsome. Too bad the picture quality was so bad.
WOW. A most excellent, COMEDY/Mystery and Mayhem film. Thank you for posting this.
Great movie, what a gem. Excellent cast
Great movie! Thank you!
The days when studios were just churning these out like M&Ms.
37 minutes into it, have to say this is the best spoof❤. Very entertaining!!!
Marvellous! More Roland Young please!
I love him! The first time I saw him was in an adorable movie he made with Lillian Gish, can’t remember the name of it though.
@@cookiesspirit2329 Got it...

Ithink Ms.Goddard did a screen test for the role of Scarlett O'hara in" Gone with the Wind," one of multiple actresses who auditioned.
Boy, that guy sure was a lightweight until he did "The Lost Weekend."
Súper guapo!!!
GOOD MOVIE
What fun
Mild mannered Milland meets mystery and mayhem
Lol
“And” … “mit”
This is a fabulous old movie (my 2nd time watching). Thanks for posting it and of course I gave it a 👍, will recommend it and I will watch it again too!! ☺️❤
Thank you
LOVED IT!!
These movies are often painful to watch but they ALWAYS have cute (satisfying) endings
Excellent ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I have always thought that a younger Ray Milland would have been a perfect Bond, James Bond. And the ending - the overheard conversation - Stolen for a Bond Movie or two.
What a hoot!!! 😆
Good flick😅😅😅😅😅
Ray Milland ❤
53:33 i wonder how much was known about the soe/oss, this crack about a wooden leg reminds me of the real life undercover ally agent virginia hall who herself had a wooden leg…
Cool
I'm a Goddard by birth. 😢
Never got to find out if my descendants crossed over or were already here.
Not that that has anything to do with the movie of course.
Great movie ......✨
Goddard started in the entertainment industry at the age of 13, she was 31-32 when this movie was released. The thing that always bothered me about Goddard is that in every movie she was in, her desire to look at the camera was so strong you can see her strain to look away in every scene. At 4:56 you can see it very clear, not a big deal to most, they just don't notice it. For what ever reason it sticks out like a sore thumb to me. LOL
Sounds like she and Meghan Markle have that same love affair looking into the camera!😅
Not crazy about her voice. And yet she almost won the role of Scarlett O’Hara...maybe she could’ve pulled off a southern twang, but considering how melodious Vivian Leigh’s voice was, am glad Goddard didn’t get the part.
Needs restoration, impossible to see, too blurry.
It's awful what they did to her.
I, kiss my girl of my choice😂😂

Comedy Romance
Terrific muted screwball comedy. One "zip" of a witty line after the next from consummate actors!
Low res.

AH. Your last name has German roots? Perhaps, that is why you don't consider it a comedy? Just kidding you,

Boring Movie and horrible story line, laughable
The movie wasn't too boring.
Hollywood Heroines
They gave their all in their all-together for the war effort!
Without the sacrifice of their modesty, we would all be singing " Deutschland Über Alles."

But note the year, 1927.
