Reolink updated the firmware and software which added a bunch of features that were missing during this review from 2 years ago. It's something I really love about Reolink. They are always improving.

The Eufy camera did a much better job with the infrared night time darkness recording, compared to the other camera. The other camera was washed out when he stepped close to it.
Hi there - been watching several of your videos now. I ended up buying some Eufy based (also) on your reviews. I am, unfortunately, returning them all for a major flaw which I feel you should mention on your videos: the Eufy WiFi cameras will NEED the WiFi to even record on the SD card! I am not talking of the ones based on the external base, I mean the Outdoor Cam C24 which are standalone and have an SD card in the camera itself. I got that confirmed by Eufy customer support. I tested myself: I disabled WiFi for 10 minutes. When I connected back, one camera kept recording ok, one lost 10 minutes of footage, one lost 6 hours of footage (??). Also, and this is also confirmed by Eufy customer service, the recording quality DEPENDS on the quality of the Wifi. Even though the recording is local on the SD card - I suppose the cameras can only encode once so they adjust for the worst bandwidth available at the moment. I am not questioning your videos at all, I feel they are well done and very comprehensive. And Eufy has NO MENTION of this whatsoever (again, they did confirm that there is no mention themselves!). Just for that reason, Eufy is a no-go to be honest. I hope this helps and thanks again!!

Your thorough and in-depth review testing of cameras has helped me a ton to chose a camera for my 1 bedroom apartment which I will be renting. I was comparing the Reolink E1 vs Wyze 3 as budget options in Canada, and the Wyze 3 seems like a way better option even though I don't like the delayed longer motion notification it has. However Reolink doesn't even send a picture with the notification and the connectivity issues is no good either. So Wyze 3 for me. Thanks a lot.
We're looking for something to replace our Wyze cameras because they have become very unreliable. Given the poor audio of the reolink, I think the Eufy is what we will plan to try out.
Looking forward to receiving my pre-order of two Eufy pan and tilts. Sure hope that when it gets HomeKit certification, I will be able to ask Siri to show the video on my iPhone/iPad, like the others do. After watching your comparison, I’m glad I went with Eufy! Another great video! Thank you!!
Thanks for the comparison. I've been looking between a few different different brands. Looking at it, I think the image quality looks better on the Reolink but had worse audio. But in the end, I'm not looking at the audio as much as I'm looking at video. 👍
Reolink has stated that newer E1 Zoom cameras will not have the memory feature or auto pan. People should keep this in mind if purchasing the others in the E1 line.

Did your Eufy stop recording yesterday? I couldn't even open my recorded videos. I searched online and people said the Eufy server was down. Huh???? The camera stands alone and records locally. But still need the company server? For what? Very interesting. I have the new Indoor 2k cam (not rotating one).
I have been looking for a camera to catch a small rodent rat size inside the house, It needs night vision and good motion detection for small critters, I like how some you have shown allow picking an area to sense motion which I think would help catching it. Which camera would you advise getting? I purchased a cheap spy cam but have problems with software not connecting and the motion detection sucks. Thanks in advance for the advice. Note: I want to get high quality images of this in night vision so one with good quality image in night mode.

I bought Reolink E1 Zoom, thinking its like E1 Pro but with zoom. When you showed the Bookmark/preset feature, it is not in my E1 Zoom (App is up to date). Same for the auto pan. Why would reolink not add it? Is it because of the zoom auto focus feature that gets in the way?
@@LifeHackster, yes, this commentary was from me. Reolink has stated to me that they did it for longevity of the internal hardware, but this is a poor excuse because the minor adjustments needed to turn the camera to the exact spot it was before you panned wears out the internals more than just having a memory location. The Reolink E1 Zoom also has speaker and microphone consistency issues.

I have the same problem with my E1 Pro. I am constantly receiving a network unavailable message. I'm gonna return mine and try the Eufy pro instead. I was very disappointed in the E1 pro. I wonder if its cause of an internal antenna, not sure but it's very frustrating. At this point I wouldn't recommend the reolink E1 pro.
It seems like... it is their app... ever since I have Reolinks, I need to have a good solid connection on my phone to be able to view my cameras.. Reolink NVR and WiFi cameras.

eufy indoor security: I have taken this camera after watching your video....it is showing good streaming on my mobile when checking with wifi connected ....but if i go out side and use cell phone data for this app....it is not connecting with camera. I have 4g speed on my cell phone...can you help me to know the problem please.
Also wondering about this scenario as well re eufy. 1. If you are out of the house and about and not on wifi....shouldn't you be able to still receive notifications and view livestream of your house or am I missing something? 2. Also, if you get a notification someone in your house...does eufy allow you to record or take pics on your cellphone of intruder from livestream and is there video time limit to doing that? 3. other question..does eufy work if during setup you put your phone on the 2.4 until connects w it (or do you have to use an ethernet cable to plug in til eufy connects?) @@LifeHackster Just received mine today. Yep it has LAN port. Newer version has increase frame rate from 20fps to 22 and 25 fps. Max bitrate increase to 5120 Kbps.
for the eufy its just a usb power cable , so it doesnt matter as long as the cable is , the data goes over wifi , if the camera is more than 5m far i will recomend to buy and extention power plug and then just use the stock charger its the same on the reolink exept if you wanna do a nvr system then the limit is about 100m (cat5 cable) or 120m (cat6 cable)

Some may not see the value in this setup; but I have an outdoor PT camera where, two times, the camera ended up pointed in random directions, like completely down at the ground. Outside my house, at night, is a street light, so the yard is well illuminated. As a countermeasure, I placed an indoor wireless camera in the window and it sees a similar view; meaning no one can simply go over and move the PT camera. Being a battery powered camera, such cameras often miss anything less than a few seconds; so, this gives me a failback for the front parking lot. In all likelihood, it was a squirrel or bird that managed to rotate the camera; or just some quirk with the camera. I see lots of value in indoor cameras pointed outside, especially on one story homes. Glare can be an issue at night with indoor cameras pointing outside; but in many places on a one story home, almost any outside camera is easily within reach, or can be reached by walking a perimeter around the camera then disabling it by turning the camera. If it's high enough so that it can't be "touched", it's also often high enough that the video is more or less useless. FWIW, I'm now using a LaView 4MP camera that uses starlight sensors; works great in that window. going to put some in other windows.
DO NOT BUY. I bought 4 for indoor use AI 2k while I’m travelling. One small power cut and the cameras all fail to reconnect to the wifi so they are totally useless now.
These cameras aren't much better than wifi cams from a decade ago. And those cameras could be used even without an internet connection when you're on the same wifi network, vs. most cameras these days require an internet connection or you can't use the camera at all, and if the server goes down you're out of luck as well. I guess that's why they're so cheap.

Yes, I have both the Eufy battery doorbell & the new 2k indoor cam...both were down yesterday because of a Eufy server upgrade or problem.
I heard other people were having issues but I did not. I have 4 eufycam 2c's and the wired doorbell and all of mine were working during the "outage".
Yes.. I did a community post on it.. it is now back to normal.. supposedly they were upgrading and an outage happened.

yes , it comms with a mount and it has the option in setting to flip the footage 180° automaticly , actually the tilt works even better upside down

I bought a couple of Reolinks and I thought it was just mine that had faulty mics but looks like yours also struggled to pick up sound?

on the eufy yes , you can acces the footage even if u have the sd card , you need to use the app .
somehow you cant turn that off 😔

How accurate is the on-device AI of the Eufy cam for person detection? I like how feature packed it is and can also record to a NAS in some capacity.
It is pretty accurate..their pet detection is ok but my little son is usually picked up as a pet sometimes :)

Homekit in eufy work with 5gb plan, resolution is limited, ai turned off
