  • Today, we are going to check out the latest 2K video quality, indoor Wifi security camera from Eufy. This is the Eufy Security Indoor Cam 2K Pan & Tilt and recently renamed as Solo IndoorCam P24. A lot of people have been waiting for this camera. We will be checking out the pan and tilt version which retails for $49.99. To the people that have pre-ordered this camera together with their regular Indoor Cam 2K, it will start shipping in June.
    So, we will do the unboxing, check out its features, set it up, check out the settings in the app and we will see how a 2K resolution camera looks like on its video and audio quality in daytime and at night. We will also test out its basic features like motion alert notification speed etc. This camera has on device AI which you will be able to get notified when people / persons/ are detected as well as animals / pets. It also listens and can alert you when it hears crying sound or loud sounds.
    This camera is also voice assistant compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Apple Homekit (June 2020).
    Finally, after you have seen its features and video quality, you can now decide if the Eufy Security indoor Cam 2K Pan and Tilt (Solo IndoorCam P24) is a good choice for your WiFi Security camera needs.

Despite using a very strong account password, this cam is going to the garage and no more until they implement better security. Until then, my wyze cams will stick around just a bit longer.

    I didn't read all the comments so please forgive if this was already asked/stated. Seems like the auto tracking would be much more valuable if it also performed autozoom. If it has person motion sensing then it should be able to zoom in at least 2x or more while tracking a moving person so you get much better detailed images from a greater distance. A lot to ask of a $50 camera but hopefully they or another company will get there soon. This would be especially helpful at night when the image quality is significantly degraded at a distance.

      Gary L - I registered my EufyCam Pros with HomeKit, thinking it would be this great thing. Yay, HomeKit connectivity! But the sad truth for me was that HomeKit was a sore disappointment. I bought these EufyCams in part because of the 2K resolution; however, with HomeKit I can only view the images in 1080p. I prefer to have the time hack visible on the footage; however, HomeKit requires that to be turned off. While I prefer Eufy’s Indoor 2K camera’s flexible activity zones, at least the EufyCam Pro lets me set up three separate/overlapping zones; however, HomeKit doesn’t recognize those. So I eventually disconnected from HomeKit, as Apple requires the cameras to be watered down. EufyCams yes, HomeKit no-for me.

    Thank you for this excellent review!
    Mine arrived today (11/18/2022). It won't power on. I plug it in and it will not power on. I unplugged and replugged all three of the connections: camera, adapter, outlet several times. When it finally came on, the bluetooth won't connect. My phone's bluetooth says I need a pin to connect. There is no pin. There is nothing about a pin in the app or website or on the camera itself. It won't connect. I unplugged to wait and try tomorrow but then thought I would try again. It will not power on. I unplugged and replugged all three connections several more times and it will not power on. It should be the easiest thing in the world: plug it in and it has power. I am not spending years fighting with this thing that won't power on when I plug it in! I'm very disappointed. I'm returning it. Even if I miraculously got it working, when it's unplugged it will be a problem again. Maybe even when the power goes out. Nothing is worth the fight just to get it to power on. Definitely not this camera.
    I notice in your review you go straight to select your wifi network and skip bluetooth. I think it connected to bluetooth so fast, it flew right by it. I saw the bluetooth screen for a fraction of a second.

    Hello
    I have no cameras at the moment. Looking to get started with Eufy system after watching ur videos
    If I understand correctly this camera is a stand alone Piece of kit that requires no base station just a Wi-Fi signal - power source - and smartphone app.
    Can it be linked to a base station if you have one?
    Also with the battery outdoor cameras that need a base station what’s the maximum number of outdoor cameras you can have?
    Great videos

    Awesome review as usual. I wish it would tilt away/close when I disarm it and tilt back to record when I arm it - all indoors cameras at the same time.

      That is an excellent idea..I have to tell eufy that and I think that will be a pretty easy update.

      LifeHackster I’ll be very happy if you could make it happen. Right now I do it all manually with my indoor Arlos.

    I'm disappointed there's a lack of stored points for camera locations. I can understand not allowing a constant panning pattern, but there should be a memory. The Reolink E1 series has the same issue (or at least the E1 Zoom does). It's nice to see the video quality better than the Eufy outdoor versions, though I'd be interested in how it looks if you have it placed outdoors such that the grass can create compression noise from the algorithm. I need to see more cameras with HDR, too!
    As far as the E1 series from Reolink, I've mentioned in the past that at least with the E1 Zoom, the microphone is inconsistent at best, and the speaker requires you to toggle the volume on the application to go into full volume regardless of what it's started at. This was the case with both E1 Zoom cameras I've tested. That 3x optical zoom is fantastic, but the lack of ability to have 2-way conversations means the E1 Zoom is not worth the money.

      I know.. my older Yi Dome 1080p has this feature...I think the Wyze Cam Pan doesn't have this too...I'll try it and see how the video quality looks like outside through the glass setup.. I'll be comparing this camera with the E1 pro pretty soon...

    Great video. Still would like to see more time spent on the timeline review (i.e. trying to locate certain videos within the app using their timeline). I think this would beneficial for all camera reviews as this is one of the areas I find frustrating with certain cameras. Nest camera does this great! But, other cameras struggle with this (Trying to find a certain event in the Yi camera timeline for example is quite difficult). Even though that may have event thumbnails, when you get into the timeline of the video is when most camera apps fail. Just thought I would provide some helpful feedback! Thanks for the great review!

      @LifeHackster  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Actually, I didn’t show it but aside from the timeline, there is the events tab..which is more of a thumbnail (tiled view) of the events..so you can view recorded footage in 2 different places..

      LifeHackster maybe this could be an idea for the next video? A timeline comparison! :) you could record the same footage with the same cameras, then see how easy it is to find that footage with the thumbnails, then see if you can find something that occurred right before or right after the footage was record (without the thumbnails and just using the timeline) and then see how easy it is to download the footage. It could be a shootout video. 👍🏻

    Great videos as always. One issue, when I turn my camera off through the app it won’t give me the option to turn it back on. I had to remove the device and reinstall

    What type of SD Card SPECS would your recommend for this camera?

    • @USMC-ce2ek
      @USMC-ce2ek 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I saw this on an Amazon review from Eufy, "We recommend using a class 10 high-quality SD card; the largest card our IndoorCam supports is a 128 GB SD card"

      Yes, this is wired. It needs to be plugged in.

    Not sure how does the storage work, does that mean when the storage hits 128Gb , thats it ? Camera not recording anymore ? Until we do what exactly ?

    I have Eufy door bell with door chime plugged in and like this setup. What about the other areas in front home? Thinking getting tilt pan unit and placing in my phoney upstairs window over looking front yard? Should I just pop for two camera system with home base? What is the advantage of a home base. Right now my door bell gets package deliveries or if I hear kids going nuts in front I can record slime balls.

    Is this compatible to the Eufy homebases?

    • @jdturingkai564
      @jdturingkai564 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It doesn't appear to need/work with homebase from anything I've seen. This one is totally standalone.

    How is video quality and application responsiveness and features compared to WYZE Pan and Tilt camera? Which one is better in this regard? How about with regards to EZVIZ C1?

    • @LifeHackster

      I need to compare..I can tell you though app responsiveness is pretty quick like the EZVIZ app..
