If I were to buy any boots in the future, I'd buy them from either R.M. Williams or Rodd and Gunn. Both brands have incredible high-quality boots for their respective price ranges for the most part.
I love how boot snobs rag on Thursday, but when you ask them to come up with a comparable alternative for 2 Benjamins, there's crickets. Yeah, they're not perfect, but for the price they're the only game in town for GYW boots with the quality of leather they use.
Thrifted a pair of Tecovas, Suede Shane, for $19.99, barely worn. They were the hardest boot I ever tried to put on, but once my foot was in there, (and yes they are my exact size), they were the most comfortable boot I have ever worn. Hardest boot to get on, but the most comfortable I've ever worn. Lately, I have been eyeballing The Roy, suede side zip boot. I think they would be a lot easier to get on my foot. As long as they are as comfortable as The Shane...I think I would be greatly satisfied. Great boots.
Nick’s is #1 right now for me. I love Nick’s, Viberg, and White’s bounty hunters. But Nicks HNW in E width with all the MTO options is the best overall boot I’ve tried.
I choose Whote’s and Nick’s over Wesco. Hand stitched stitchdown construction is old school lost art still employed by some of White’s. Agree w/Grant Stone being good value for $$ and the Truman being a high quality product for those who’s budget cannot afford the Nick’s & White’s
I prefer JK, they make great work boots. That’s usually what I wear, because I’m not into fashion boots. Thick leather and tough soles are the only things that survive in the deserts long, so I have a good appreciation for that
Whites and Truman boots are the best boots made, hands down 🙌 Jim Green boots are the most functional and comfortable for your $$$. Red wings are too painful but rewarding if you don’t mind the brutal break-in. Wolverine 1000 mile boots with the Horween leathers are great as well.
I've had my Iron Rangers for close to three years now. Don't work construction but in a butcher shop getting blood, guts, and chemicals on them all day and I do some hiking as well. With consistent conditioning the leather looks even better now than when I got them. Highly recommended...
I seen boots so i clicked on it. Tecovas are ok, iron rangers and wesco are legendary. The rest really arent boots. They are shoes. Boots are made for work. The remainder of the list isnt made for work
Not sure how you define a top brand, but Thursday sure as shit isn't one of them. There are a mountain of other brands immeasurably better than Thursdays.
No way a boot maker that uses third world slave labour and undercuts the domestic market is in the top anything of anything. How much did they pay you for this?
I have a pair of the tobacco captains. I've only had them for like 2 months so idk how it'll look with some wear, but brand new, they're not as dark as this video shows. The video on Thursdays website is accurate, but the pics are a bit off
Haha, clueless. Thursday isn’t even close to being a work boot unless you sit at a desk all day. Very low end build quality. They are cheap fashion boots, nothing more.
Can you please explain to me what is D width foot mean and B/C width mean? I'm getting into boots and I'm tryna cop my first Thursday Boot. Maybe in the future for Grant Stone too.
Zero drop anything? Something doesn’t squeeze toes. Natural foot shape. I found lens boulder boot the MOST COMFORTABLE I have every felt. Also, Vivo Scott boot. However the soles blow out IMMEDIATELY.
There are some unreasonably hard stances in these comments 😂😂😂 Cats will throw on a cape or draw swords for ANYTHING!! Relax bros! Life’s too short short to sweat someone else’s choices 😅
1. Nicks ( Best boots I've ever owned. Their lasts, quality control, and durability are second to none amongst the PNW brands). 2. Red Wing ( For the money? You can't beat them. Their styles are awesome. Their Heritage line has great build quality and aesthetics. Plus they are a well built durable boot) 3. JK Boots ( From the high value 300/300X line is an amazing value. Their O.T. Boots are the perfect combo of a durable, rugged work boot, and a light, easy to wear, comfortable casual boot). 4. White's ( The cool factor for this brand is just amazing. Very classic, robustly built, and they are more comfortable than most of the PNW brands) 5. Wolverine ( They make a good little cheap work boot. And the 1000 Mile Boot is iconic). 6. Thorogood (Good build quality, nice style, and their Moc Toes might be the most comfortable boots you can buy). 7. Grant Stone ( For the money you won't find a classier, more high quality boot. Love their materials and their design choices).
Red Wings are spot on, They do not send internationally so I had to resort to farfetch, the price felt outrageous and I kind of had to lie to my self it was worth it, luckly I got a 15% discount so I payed a fair(ish) price for what I got.
Tacovas are horrible. I was so thankful they returned my purchase. Buy Lucchese. Worth the price. I am a professional country dance teacher… I dance in cowboy boots. If a boot is not comfortable the moment you put them on, you got the wrong size, brand or both.
When it comes to leather quality and style, beckett siminon is untouchable. So why is it behind thursday? A boot company thats main sellint points are leather quality and styling
Nick's Handmade Boots is hands down number 1.
They are great boots. I am a Whites fan !

No solovairs?
The Thursday boots are not for the rugged heritage look at all.
thursday boots, redwing and timberland are usually my go to
Timberland is absolutely garbage knowledge up fam
What do you think about the heritage coulter pullons by Timberland.

Thursday and timberland are trash

Jim green beats the pants off Thursday in terms of quality, for the same price or at most $30 more
Jim Greens all day

More of a Whites guy myself but point taken
Exactly the kind of video I was looking for, definitely will check out all the products later
Thanks for not making this an unnecessary 10min video
Just get a pair of Nick's
Well this is a TH-cam SHORT so it’s gonna be 10 minutes long
When I walked into a Redwing store they straight out told me “we only make boots for workers.” Didn’t want to sell average consumers boots. 🤷♂️
Good, I’d have told you the same thing if I worked there.

Can’t agree more; my Iron Rangers get all the wear they can when the path gets tough.
And I’m really itching for a pair of Grant Stones 😢
@xplosiiv55No, they are just difficult to find your size

An none of those boots of his will ever touch a job site 🤣

Why are redwing online boots frustrating? I’m on week 2 of my iron rangers I got online. Literally zero complaints. They even included free boot oil
Waiting for my Nicks to ship!
Own two Thursdays their captain and the casa moto, they are so nice.
I want to get the casa moto. Are those good to go out casually?
Whites, Nicks, JK, Jim Green.
The boots you ranked should be labeled the top basic boots.
Viberg
Red wing
Parkhurst
Grant stone

Best "fashion" boot brands...
Meanwhile my dumbass classmate: who cares? Dior, Hermes, Chanel, LV boots will always be better cuz they're more popular.
How do people afford such boots to "build out a collection"
They last years so you will have some time simply adding two pairs per year. And also as more you have in the rotation, the less wear they receive
Remember when boots were for work.
And not one of them were work boots. 😅
Looks like you need shoe trees
I thought boots were for women.
