No complaints with my Blundstone 585’s. Hardwearing, insanely comfortable, look nice and cheaper than nearly all the options on this video. Sure they are not goodyear welted, but they cost about the same new as a re-sole does. If the sole wears out in the next few years, i’ll get a new pair. Not sure why a few TH-camrs seem to dislike them so much?

Blundstones are popular because they are great boots. Comfy from day one. Long lasting. They last way longer than sneakers and 99% of people never resole any boot they own. They have a wide toe box which makes them much healthier for your foot than most “more stylish” boots.
As a Tasmanian, everyone grew up with Blundstone's, but when they really took a quality hit when the manufacturing moved offshore. I wear RM's Dynamic Flex every day, as do most people working in Brisbane. Once they wear in, they are like sneakers. Yeah, they are expensive up front, but you have them for life. No other boot I've worn comes close.
I actually bought the Blunstone for that alternative waterproof rainy day as I usually wear Redwing Moc toes which can be heavy for long walks and standing all day. I have three pairs as the colors are great. As i have been wearing these types of boots for more than three decades, I highly recommend weatherproofing all boots before wearing them. The Blunstone is really a fashion gimmick in Europe but it serves a purpose however overpriced… Loved that ‘’Ace Martin’’ for it’s nostalgic look. They used to be that narrow in the 1970s when I first saw my father wear them. From where i got my passion! I entirely agree with your number one! Delicious looking color and styled boot. Great video again.
Agree with you on the RMs! I have two pairs as does my wife. Full disclosure - she's an Aussie and we travel there often. The yearling leather keeps the weight way down and the comfort way up. Almost like a beefier cordovan. Two thumbs up. We also own Blunnies. They are purely kick-around boots for quick trips walking the dog or knocking around in the garden, but if you let them sit too long in the closet the inner sole crumbles to dust. Terrible design.
RMs are definitely comfortable. I have 5 pairs they do tend to scuff easily when you’re going up steps though. Something that never happens with my moctoes.
@user-ox5xg3br9x Hey mate. Not made in Aus any more. I have had a few pairs over the years. Currenltly on pair made in Vietnam (659) and another made in India (405). I'll be interested to see how the 405's go. They're buffalo leather and only cost me $90 AUD delivered. Seem okay a few months in.
Those Grant Stone oiled roughout Chelseas have been on my list for a while, I’m still undecided since I own their Chelseas in waxed suede… their quality and style is superb!
Greetings from Australia. RM Williams used to be known for their comfortable, quality boots. They issue them as dress boots to our military, but they have become some of the most painful boots to wear. After walking around in them for a day, your feet ache. They are probably the most purchased boots in Australia, mainly due to brand recognition rather than comfort. They are incredibly overpriced for what they are. Unfortunately, Ariat boots, which are now made in China, have started to dominate the Australian market despite being of poor quality, often described as "plastic fantastic garbage." For good quality western boots, one should look for products made in Mexico or the United States. I spoke to a cobbler who was resoling my Boulet boots from Canada. He had piles of RM Williams boots that couldn't be resoled because their internals are made of cardboard. Once these boots become damp or wet, the cardboard is ruined. RM Williams boots were, and still are, iconic in Australia, but this is more about brand recognition than quality.
Given the massive increase in price subsequent to RM Williams acquisition by the LVMH group, I wholeheartedly agree. At this price point, one can get a pair of Crockett & Jones with a level of craftsmanship far superior to anything RM Williams does.
Ace mark black , in my eye, is a perfect Chelsea as far as shape and sleekness we consider. Carmina one, not Chelsea but looks high quality and stunning design
What about Velasca brand? I am gonna pay them a visit in Milan Italy next week. Their shoes look really nice so I was wondering if you have any experience with them.
0:21 I have the exact same and the 1st time I wore them I took a walk on the beach at low tide. After 15 mins of just walking in the sand ald maybe stepping in shallow water my socks were wet. Otherwise I quite like them, they are robust and did not wear out after almost 2 years wearing them regularly.
My Thursday legend boots are not as narrow as your pair which is weird they have quality control issues your never know what your gonna get when you order with them
Tried on a pair of RMs after a recent purchase of a cheaper brand, and the difference was night and day. Expensive, but as they say, buy once, cry once.
Why did you not try the RedBlack Chelsey boot. I have two pair. One pair are safety for work the other pair or work boots for lawns, gardens. Hiking etc. I also own the RM chefs boot, their Garden boot and their city / walk about boot which are super comfortable and dressy just don’t want to wear them out too quick due to price. This is not to say the garden and the chef boots don’t get worn. They most certainly do.
First off I want to say that I am a fan of your video. But to me the holly grail of shoes or boots is the Chelsea. Now I don’t know what size you fit but in AE I am a 12 eee when they fit. Sometimes they aren’t wide enough. You don’t even comment on fit. What the hockey puck!
!!!! Not objective about blunies.. if you want to test waterproof you have ta take a right shoes , I mean blundstone thermal ( winter edition) I am living in Sweden , really hard winter ❄️ and my blundstone thermal my foot stay verrrry safe and warm ;)
Blundstones are not what they used to be. They used to be waterproof and I’d wear them four seasons, including in snow. Whether it’s the offshore manufacturing or design factors they are just not the same quality. Redbacks aren’t as well known but they are much better in many ways, including waterproofing. No argument with RM Williams, they are premium and a venerable brand.
Beckett Simonon over Carmina? I have both and that is ludicrous, especially because your reasoning is that you like a jodhpur better than a zip side? Really odd logic there. Carminas Chelsea’s should be at least number two and I feel like you didn’t include them simply because you don’t own them. This is not th 13 best jodhpurs my guy. But you included the zip side because you knew Carmina had to be on the list. Strange.
I kno this is old, but I def agree. Even the Ace marks should be much higher. It's a kind of dress boot so it's not supposed to be very "distinctive." They're nice enough to wear with a suit (no tie) and can be dressed down with a nice pair of jeans or chinos.
CHELSEAs WITHA THICK MOLDED OR JUST A THICK LUG SLOE DON'T LIKE THE LOOK OF THEM , LEATHER OT THE RUBBER ONE LIKE THE THURSDAY BOOT LOOK BETTER, RIGHT THE WORK STYLE I WOULD WEAR OR BUY . YOU WEAR A CHELSEA FOR THE COMFORT AND THE LOOK, THEIR NOT A WORK BOOT
Zip boots and jodphur boots are for girls mate, Meermins look way better than the RM WIlliams and the RMs are overpriced shite these days compared to the old ones. You missed the real best bootmakers as not one English boot in there. Cheaney Trickers Loake Oliver Sweeney
That’s incredibly short sighted. Buy cheap, pay twice mate. A good pair of RM Williams boots will last well over 20 years if you take care of them properly. If you know, you know.

Do you recommend Dynamic Flex over Comfort Craftsman? I'm unable to decide yet. I travel a lot, and my feet get sore in most shoes.
To be honest, I've never worn CC, but rate the DF. They are extremely comfortable, only a few weeks to wear in. @@vickzin
@vickzin i got both... CC is better comfort.
If you're looking for a wider fitting chelsea, Jim Green has two. They are currently $159 in the US.

Blundstone are a work boot mate. No one in Australia wears them as fashion. you’re comparing apples and oranges
No one cares about Australia m8
You’re right they are work boots but so were doc martens and they became fashion
@@Dazulolwarrior well considering they’re made in Australia, I would say some people do cobber.

Not a huge fan of the style but I have a pair of Beckett Simonon Dowlers and they are nice, with a moderate wait/build time and great value.
Did you wear out through the heel cap on any of your boots? they look so thin.
Great video, these are all good choices and rankings, but what does one make to afford such expensive boots andd so many of them?!😅
Dont you find the RM williams rough for such long walking?
They have flat outsole with no traction
They aren't that comfortable
I just got my first pair of RM Williams boots an love them soooo good, and yes a Aussie however it took 64 years to get them
RM Williams all the way every day any day.
Have you come across Buckler boots from the UK
Surprised you make no mention of Allen Edmonds' Liverpool chelsea.
grant stone forever
Would be great to see you review Benzein’s/Briselblack the seventh Chelseas
Try Doucal's, made in Italy.
staying with Docs hardy there's endless models.
Dude, I love my Blundstones
I got a pair of color 8 Kenton Chelsea’s from j crew when they were on sale. It’s a really nice looking Chelsea and very comfortable
I have Blundstone and RM Williams I have no problems with none of them. I wear Blundstone every day summer and winter and never got my feet wet.
Surprised the Crockett & Jones Chelsea wasn't on the list
Agree. My CJ Chelsea 8 suede boots are incredible, they felt like gloves from the day I purchased them.
It’s because he doesn’t own them
Can you review canada boot Chelsea shoe I have heard it a very good boot
Have you tried the fugashin Chelsea with the S last?
