    I have been using this stuff for years even on other Brands I think it’s really worth doing every service to prevent carbon build up.
    Click the link in the description to check out a can of engine cleaner.

    Bro taking off the throttle body hose as per the actual maintenance steps is easier than what you did. It just requires having the engine clean tool, but this can costs more than the regular cleaner itself, so getting a tool is just a small investment long term over buying this.
    The proper way to do this is buying SOA868V9341 and the tool and letting it suck in cleaner slowly for 30 minutes or more.
    Don't spray this on rusted bolts, use PB Blaster. You are spending too much using engine cleaner for surface rust.

      This spray is fairly cheap now
      Especially non genuine versions
      I use it on everything.
      Iv honestly never heard of the tool your speaking about, but would love to see it in action.

    Thank you for this video. Is this process the same for a 2009 Subaru Impreza?

      No problem, yes it’s the same thing.
      Your engine will either be the same or very similar.

    Great video mate. Where do you get the product from?

    • @automotivetipsandtricks973

      For The genuine Subaru spray you have to go to a Subaru dealer.
      But there are aftermarket options just as good available online or at most auto parts stores.
      Thanks

      Subaru recommends this to be done at every service.
      So once or twice a year.

    All other videos were to apply the spray while idling at 2-3k rpms. Any reason you spray and then let it sit before starting up the engine again? I know you warmed it up before applying and that is a must. thanks!

    • @automotivetipsandtricks973
      @automotivetipsandtricks973  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Great question, by spraying it in and letting it sit for 10 mins or so if gives the chemical a chance to loosen the carbon and break it down causing it to go through the engine and get burned up.
      Also this particular model doesn’t have the small vacuum line on the manifold which allows you to Spray it in while it’s running. Just be careful not to let the nozzle of the spray to not get sucked into the engine which can happen.
      The can will have the instructions written on it which does advise you to carry out both procedures if possible.
      Hope this helps

      Hi mate top video just wanted to ask I have a Nissan patrol y62 you mentioned not to spray directly into the throttle body do I just use the vacuum lines on either side?

    • @automotivetipsandtricks973
      @automotivetipsandtricks973  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@adamsurf76 to be honest iv never done one on a Y62, but the older Nissans with a fly by wire throttle if you done a throttle body clean you’ll then have to recalibrate the throttle with a scan tool.
      But if your just spraying through the vacuum lines for a manifold clean you should be fine.

      When cars have heavy buildup you actually want it to sit to take effect if you do it before every oil change as a maintenance you don't necessarily have to do it this way. Many Volkswagens the cleaners don't work well unless you let them sit on top of the valve first

      Any accessible vacuum line or hose that goes into the inlet manifold.
      If not take the inlet pipe off and spray it straight into the throttle

  • @daviddyson7359
    @daviddyson7359 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Don’t you do the upper engine clean before the oil change?

    • @automotivetipsandtricks973
      @automotivetipsandtricks973  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It honestly doesn’t matter that much
      Everything it breaks down will mostly get burned up in the combustion and out the exhaust.
