This is incredible! It applies to all addictions. This is how this should be explained to teenagers.

I feel that. It would have been best to have people with the right information instead of the D.A.R.E program.

Why is this not shown in detox and rehab centers, such a wast of information, their could help so so many.
The more addicts are educated about there adition the better chance of recovery, to no why they feel and think the way our brain works ,would help so many .
Please keep speeding this information, u no I will..
To the lecture please advocate to have this played in centers it would help

Drug treatment is part of the medical industry, repeat customers are good for business, well people aren't.

This guy helped me immensely during the most difficult time of my life. His feeling scale makes sense on an atomic level.

I wish I would've heard and understood this lecture back when I was Tom and Sam's age. Now I do but what's next.
It would have been best to have people with the right information instead of the D.A.R.E program back in our day.

I will say this. The FIRST step in recovering from addiction is learning to forgive YOURSELF and understanding that only GOD can take away the shame and guilt that is associated with an addict. An addict can hide and deceive and fool everyone, including himself, but God sees ALL things. No matter how hard you try to deal with the emotions of shame & guilt it is only when one comes to the realisation that God TRULY has FORGIVEN you that you begin to get well and allowing Him to be in control will keep you clean. Self forgiveness THROUGH Jesus is key to a clean and peaceful life.

An interesting series of talks, though he does waffle and repeat himself a little. I also think that self-sabotage and self-hatred play a part in continuing addiction. Some addicts don't want what is best for them.
