      Ohh @AnnabelleEdwards-e6y!!
That is so kind of you to say.❤
I always feel as though it may be annoying to viewers, so I have tried to 'calm my enthusiasm'.
I am genuinely so passionate about the channel and Australia, our authors and culture, (and I LOVE books!) that I can be overly effusive if I am not careful!! But I will keep your comment in mind in future. If it ignites passion or joy in you and others, then so be it.....Bring on effusive-ness!!!❤😀
Thank you also, for commenting. All of these ideas and comments help me to see a way or future, for the channel. Feedback is important, so Thank you.
Looking forward to hearing from you again.
      Stay tuned!
      Happy reading and safe travels

Hi Cheryl, Leeanne here, I wanted to let you know that we love this channel especially the content with the travel videos and the book recommendations and I just wanted to tell you hubby and I went for a drive to Euroa, today November 29 to country Victoria and they have the best little second hand book shop I have been to thus far it is called Alredy read book shop, it is volunteer and not for profit, they have a large selection in a separate little reading room (love it), Australian Authors and Australian books of every type. the shop is very well arranged and extremely tidy as I said the best little book shop ever, I read and then I donate all I have read back to them. then we eat and buy a little bit from the other shops we love visiting this little pretty country town, so you are very much spreading the word! We would love a list of little town independent book shops so we can buy a new book in every town.

      Good Evening Leeanne and 'hubby',
I was chuffed to read that you visited Euroa. This is a town yet to be featured on the channel, possibly next year at this stage. I will be investigating that bookshop, quick sticks! Sounds amazing. I also love the fact that you spread the love by visiting and buying at the other shops. Go you!! At this rate, Country Victoria will survive and thrive. What a wonderful day you must have had.
Actually, you have given me an idea. Perhaps I can read out a few of the bookshops we have visited and loved during our travels with the channel. Possibly at the end of the year so that those who wish to, can visit them next year? It is an idea. Thank you for planting the seed.
Thank you for sharing your news. I love to know what you are all up to!!
Happy reading and safe travels....keep up the great work,
      Cheryl (ABT)

Hi Cheryl, I made it, I’ve finally caught up 🎉 I originally found you because I was looking for an Australian based book lover and your travel content is an added bonus. I subscribed because your content and recommendations are exactly what appeals to me. For instance, I have added all of your book recommendations to my Goodreads TBR, I have ordered from your recommended bookshops and gift shop Wavertree and London and I even booked tickets to the Melbourne Flower and Garden Show (with high tea). I have no doubt that I’ll stay in one of those gorgeous B&B’s one day as well. I find a 30 min video is my ideal but everyone is different. I understand that you want/need to expand your audience but I don’t know if my suggestions would be helpful - more cooking, more animals, short stroll around the garden. These are just things that interest me though and I enjoy all your content. Maybe some sort of virtual Bookclub where you choose a book for the month and people can send in their comments and you could read them out and discuss? I agree with @vintagesue though, as long as you enjoy what you’re doing, just keep going. I appreciate all that you do Cheryl, thank you ☺️

      Hello Jo and Good Evening!
Yayyyyy, you have caught up. You need some sort of recognition for your marathon effort. All power to you! (and thank you so much for your support.)
Honestly Jo, this is wonderful to read. The fact that you have not only been somewhat encouraged or inspired by the novels on the channel, but also Wavertree and London (aren't the scents divine?)
AND the Flower show!!!! Oh My Goodness, You are right on to it! You will not be disappointed with the Flower show. It is great. Wear comfy shoes and take a trolley.....you may need it for the goodies available for purchase. A lot of the stalls and the displays are inspiring.
Now, the channel.....Thank you for your ideas. Yes, cooking is something we have thought about, although we need to complete our kitchen before I would feel comfortable doing so. At the moment, we have one video at the pet friendly accommodation that was our first attempt at cooking on location, in style and era with the cottage and a recently shown novel on the channel, 'Free' by Meg Keneally. But we need to improve on that score. More animals should be easy...she says as they jolly well do what they like when they like! But we can try that idea. Garden? Yes, we certainly would like to discuss the garden, our ideas and ethics of our style gardening and also the difficulties we face in this climate. So that is something to think about for 2025, I would say.
All great feedback Jo and things to think about, for sure.
Thank you and thank you again, for your support. It is greatly appreciated.
Until Monday, happy reading, safe travels and have a wonderful weekend
      Cheryl (ABT)

I don't know what algorithms are,but I do love your videos and it probably takes time to get more subscribers. Another booktuber I watch just reached 10k followers but she's been making videos for 8 years ..Just do what you love,I think your videos are absolutely wonderful and perfect as they are. I love the George Adams Birdscaping book, and yes to the Australian Women's Weekly, the cookbook I have is also such a good one and the recipes are not hard. I find that a big plus because I'm not a good cook and when a recipe looks difficult I get intimidated 🙈 I'll definitely be buying more Women's Weekly cookbooks in the future, you are right: they are very affordable! I can get them from ebay UK for around €10,I wish I could get Australian fiction for that price!! Yes please to a Christmas Eve celebration. I'm not like you,I'm all Christmas as of November 1,I simply can't wait any longer for my favorite season to start 😂🎄
Very excited for the Sydney sneaky midweeker that's coming, thank you for working so hard for the channel and for us and for doing a wonderful job 💕 Ps; Poor Rune and Arthur, winter is coming again boys, just hang in there in the heat 🥵

      Oh Anne!
Algorithms are a mystery to me also. Apparently they are something that picks up certain popular things in videos or something or other, but they are important to being a success or not and we need success!!
I know you are correct...when you have a passion for what you do and believe in, then eventually 'success' in whatever form, follows. I need to be patient, I think! Of course, viewers/subscribers like you, make it all worthwhile and I count myself lucky and successful in that regard. Thank you so much for your on-going support.
On a more interesting note, Australian Women's Weekly recipes never disappoint. They are easy to follow and make, difficult to mess up and are a delight and tasty to consume! And I do LOVE the fact that they are not expensive to buy. I do not know how they do it, but we are lucky that they do.
You would absolutely love their Christmas book. For your TBR, I think. It is a monster of a recipe book. Way too heavy to post, or cart around.
I think a Christmas Eve video must happen. It will be available if viewers wish to watch or you can watch it at another (not so busy) time. So, Christmas Eve celebrations it is then. Get ready! I do love Christmas. I enjoy the atmosphere and the delights of food and decorating. It certainly is a lovely family/good friend time.
Righto, I will be working on the sneaky mid-weeker over the coming days. Hoping to have it uploaded for mid next week. Stay tuned!
Yes, the boys are suffering at the moment. They are not Summer boys. Come to think of it, they do not like the rain either.....or the cold......or the wind......Yikes! I think we have two very 'soft' boys. Summer is definitely their 'most dis-liked' time of year.
      Until next video,
      Happy reading and safe travels

As you know I absolutely love your channel and content! From what I’ve heard TH-cam algorithms are very tricky to understand. Don’t be disheartened, your channel has grown really well but as they say good things take time 😊

      Thank you Sue.
We are going to change just a few small things though as @axlegrease-s4h has stated, perhaps shorter videos may entice viewers. Let's see how that works for the channel supporting all things Australian and literature!
Also, thank you so much for your support. You know we appreciate it so much.
Psst....Have you read your novel yet?
      Happy reading and safe travels

@vintagesue. Ahhh, yes Sue, I remember you saying that, apologies for forgetting.
By the way, we are having a Christmas Eve video and we are thinking of giving another book away. More information in our book recommendations on Monday.
      Happy Reading and Safe Travels.

I have a few WW cookbooks too. I don't really like the flavours of many of their recipes I've tried but 6th generation Australian hubby does. I'm 1st generation, with immediate up generations arriving from Czechoslovakia, Scandinavia and Russia. I pull out my WW cookbooks for hubby though.

      Hello @vegemitegirl1971,
With the recipes of Women's Weekly, you can add other herbs and spices to your taste. We are vegetarian and so we add more herbs and spices to taste and for our vitamin etc intake. Perhaps this would help you to like the recipes more.
Pleased to know that you have a few of the cookbooks though and your husband enjoys the recipes.
      Thank you for your comment.
      Happy reading and safe travels

@AustralianBookTravels-ii8iy Seeing as you like trains, have you ever been on the Cockle Train in Victor Harbor, SA. It's in my home town and I regularly hear the whistle from the steam train

    • @AustralianBookTravels-ii8iy
      @AustralianBookTravels-ii8iy  18 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @vegemitegirl1971,
No, I have not been on the Cockle Train, not to my recollection anyway, although I vaguely remember a train ride in SA when I was much, much younger.
This will be a 'must do' when we visit SA for the channel.
Thank you for the 'heads up'. Happy reading and safe travels,
      ABT

Hi Cheryl, maybe consider doing shorter format videos as some people might be daunted by having to set aside a big chunk of their time to watch the longer ones.

    • @AustralianBookTravels-ii8iy
      @AustralianBookTravels-ii8iy  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi @axlegrease-s4h,
      Thank you for commenting.
I understand what you are saying and I have tried to vary the length of the videos at different times.
At this stage, the longer videos actually do better and have far more views. You-tube do recommend long videos too. So I am confused to be honest. Not sure what works and what does not. It is a matter of actually getting people to click in to watch and try and that is not happening at the moment.
However, we may try short videos over the coming months (as you may have noticed the travel videos are shorter now) and see how it all goes.
Thank you for the idea. Let's see how it all works.
If you think of anything else, we are happy to listen.
Thank you also for watching, by the way.
      Happy reading and safe travels
      Cheryl (ABT)
