Song was decent. I think Camille and the boys need to find their synergy and define the sound they want to go for. I'll miss Tobias (and I still miss Matteo a lot, his era of Novelists was the best) but I'm curious and eager to see how they'll shape their music with Camille.
Saw them live last night and they were a huge highlight.

It will get gatekeeped but we need to open up a little and accept the change if it is really good. Will see them in November here, excited to check them out with Camille. Saw them with Matteo and it was incredible of course. But it is a new era!
I imagine most of this bands fanbase listened to it for Matteo's lyricism. I know that's certainly why I listened to them. This is objectively a downgrade in that department, a big one. But a lot of people also just listen to music for the sound/rhythm and hey if that's your thing this kind of music is probably right up your alley.

Best I can think of this song is that, I don't really care for it. Sure the vocalist has talent, and I think she'd fit in a band that's less heavy than Novelists. God, I miss Matteo and his soothing voice.
Fun fact Matteo wanted to be a guitarist at first xD he said it to me while selling me their t-shirt at a show long back ago in Marseille.
Tobias is one of my fav core vocalist, in Alazka/Burning Down Alaska and in Novelists.
But their new vocalist is so good too! She has interesting voice, something more fun and colorful in her voice. Kinda reminds me of that Jinx(LoL) song from 10+ years ago. Plus the dance moves, i've been craving more choreos on Metalcore

I love it. Like I said on the video itself, I saw so much negativity on IG and YT at first that I was not hopeful, but after hearing it I actually love it. It's a very new spin on the same type/style of sound we've come to hear from them. I love her upbeat vocals in contrast to the dark, heavy-ass guitars as well. I'm so into seeing where this goes.
For me, Noir was the peak of the band. I'm glad I can still go back and listen to these tracks, but man I wish I was still getting more of that sound. It was so unique and Matteo had such an amazing voice that suited the style.

Mateo is still "making Old Novelists" in his new band Sal3m... If you don't know them, check them out.. Walk on Water is one of the most beautiful tracks I've heard in a long time! Cheers
The was quite good. Spiritbox is gonna have some competition.
I don't think anyone's been shocked by the sight of girls at the front for a while now, and even more so since SPIRITBOX, which is a pure banger, but the problem here is really the intensity in the voice and the power - it's too timid, too smooth, too soft. So maybe it's the vocal mix that does it, but when you go from Tobias to Camille on the choice of vocal lines, it's still far behind. After that, I'm curious to see what it's going to sound like, and I hope it's not an honorary stunt.

Better than Lost Cause in my opinion
Even with the lead changes I love the flavor and vibe of Novelists hasn't changed. Its evolved and grown, but still feels like them and big part is original lead guitar and drums for sure.

It's a bit of a cold shock. I only discovered Novelists with Tobias so that's what I'm used to hearing. This isn't bad, but it hasn't captured me yet. Excited to see the future of the band
Don't listen as much since they moved away from the Souvenirs sound but genuinely glad to see Novelists still going, and excited to see what this vocalists brings. Man, that was a forgettable chorus though.
I mean this is great and all but I really miss Mateo..novelists was the first band I ever seen live back in 2016 and it was crazy

It’s interesting seeing people comment they don’t like the new song when it sounds like a natural progression from Deja Vu. I couldn’t be happier with this direction. Such a cool evolution.
It's because a lot of them are still stuck in the Matteo era. It's my favorite era of Novelists too(all 3 records with Matteo were great) but people need to understand that they want to try other things with their sound.
The lead guitar is just carrying the band. That is a talent in 20 years. And they got downgraded with the singer, even thought she is amazing, Tobias was too good and connected with the band flow.
The instrumental gave me a stank face soooo fast
I was also very surprised to come across the new voice in the band Novelists, but it was a good surprise, I think it shows that they are in a new style segment, reaching a new audience, something that also happened with Bring Me The Horizon. I loved it. Tobias Rische on the band's vocals, but I also liked Camille Contreras on vocals. All success for the band Novelists on their new path and we continue to love the band here in Brazil
I’ll probably get some hate for this, but oh well. Souvenirs and Noir are two of my top 20-30 favorite albums of all time. I musically grew up with those two albums. The intricacies of everything and the beautiful chord progressions is what made those two albums stick. All that is gone now. While this song is good, it’s just so damn lifeless. No emotion in it whatsoever. I’m all for bands changing their sound to bring in a new audience. Bands like Erra changed did that while still holding onto elements from their old music. The new girl is a great vocalist, and I enjoyed the guitar solo. But man I miss Matteo. I miss when they used to write songs from the heart. This wasn’t from the heart and we all know it. I do think they have a lot of potential with this new vocalist though.
Really loved this track and whilst the vocal change really surprised me, I think it gives them flexibility moving forward. She clearly has range and the music has always been incredible. Great start!

I saw them opening for Imminence last year and I loved it. The instrumental still sounds great, but I think they should have started featuring her harsh vocals sooner. There're just parts that shouldn't be clean here

Never liked Tobias in Novelists. He was much better in Alazka. This song is a fucking banger though. Especially since she used to do vocals for Novelists in the Matteo era
I just think she needs time to develop her sound and how it fits with the band. Her voice is a bit flat and I feel like it brings the sound back a bit. Personal opinion of course - I always cheer for this band, regardless of some of the decisions they have made with remastering songs, and constant front-man/woman changes. I wish them all the luck!

This feels like the pivot of Sonic Syndicate around 2010. I like the female vocals in theory but it sounds like a nu metal flyleaf or something. The end was great though. Looking forward to giving the new sound a second chance.
I wish the chorus was heavier. If this is the new direction I'm not super excited about it but always willing to give new stuff a listen. The break down was good, spiritbox vibes.
Oh boy, dunno what to say about this. I mean, their sound with Tobias was weird but good weird, didn't even know he left the band. This era though, I think they need to find their sound asap, in my honest opinion, this is not it. It sounds like an instrumental from the last album, but with a new vocalist.
I was aware that there is another band called just Novelists, I was talking to Tobaias about that after their gig, and when I saw a girl singing that song I thought that this is that band. Had no idea Novelists FR parted ways with Tobias, such a shame, but I hope for the best for New Novelists and Tobias. Also nice banger.
It'll be interesting now how Camille will perform their old songs live. Are the band going to make some adjustments to their songs live (pitch shifts etc) or will Camille belt out the original male tones with a feminine take? Nonetheless what a great song for a rebrand!

That's one of the best songs I've heard this year. This song has everything I love: Heavy rhythm guitars, pop vocals with insanely melodies and great solos. Love it.
