Hey We just dropped a new song with Novelists former vocalist Tobias Rische! Maybe it would be something for you channel to react to. Its called: CHANGES by 2SILENT feat. Tobias Rische Thank you✌🏻
I agree with your final comments. I do like this direction for them, instrumentally they are so good and I would hope that after another vocalist change that they would come out swinging a bit harder. This feels pretty safe. That said, I didnt hate this... and I look forward to more stuff in the future as they get more songs under their belt(s) as a refreshed band.
I will keep remaining optimistic. There's alot they can do here. That being said i'm not the biggest fan of this song, felt some parts were way too poppy but hey it is different and she is a really good vocalist.
The lyrics have the depth of a tea spoon.... and that's being kind. That being said, after I got over the initial shock of the new singer thing, I have started to come around to it. The vocals are, as you say, too poppy for my taste. However, she is obviously a talented singer, and the small amount of screaming she does is a nice little taste of what's to come, hopefully. At the end of the day, I'm keeping an open mind until I hear more, but until then... I can't lie... This track has grown on me enough to be on heavy rotation this weekend. Along with Silent Planet, and new Tesseract.
I think Novelists found a cool direction around Noir where they fused a moody, groovy rock sound with progressive metalcore. Stood out from the crowd to me. (To be fair, Matteo's vocals were a big part of that sound). Glad the band is still around though, and hopefully with time they find a way to make this sound more compelling.
I've only known Novelists since Tobias joined and i absolutely loved them, so i was gutted when he left. This is ok but doesn't hit as hard BUT I'm looking forward to see where they go from here
A very good song, as a ''5:12am'' fan (which is one of their songs featuring female vocalist) it seems like i've always needed something like this, good alternative to Spiritbox. I wish the band remains alive with new vocalist which is also amazing and i can't wait for their newer stuff, let's hope there will be something more interesting next time. This is a good direction and might suddenly blow up if the band keeps evolving with new vocalist, also i really like the instrumental of this song sooooo far, especially that breakbeat solo omfg, saying that the song is generic after this - is stupid. I still love early Novelists so much, these guys had such a pleasant nostalgic sound no other band ever had (in my opinion), Souvenirs album is still on replay and the self-titled song particullary, i mean even the music video of this song is perfect and describes different types of nostalgia like Anemoia and Kenopsia so well. Noir album has grown on me a lot too, after time.
I’ve known Novelists for many years and been to many shows, since they’re from my hometown. Their music has always clicked with me and their shows were ok. But bringing out Camille as a permanent vocalist was a big move! I saw them last month in Montreal where they opened for Void of Vision, Make Them Suffer and ERRA, and I can assure you Camille goes hard live ! Novelists stole the whole show !! Everyone easily singing their lyrics in the pit was amazing
7/10. I enjoyed it, the sound is great, but I suspect I will tire of it before long. It needs to break more song-writing rules for me, but of course that might shrink the audience a bit. Hopefully they get a bit bolder as they settle into their new crew. I'll definitely have to keep tabs on them. I think with even just a bit more variety (especially in the chorus) this could rise to a 8.5 - 9 for my taste. If they could find a way to grab the best parts of Sleep Token, Vola, and Birthday Massacre (don't judge), that'd slay me. They might need a keyboard to get that range though.
I'd not really listened to this band much, but I did catch this latest drop and found it rather entertaining - even did a reaction too (th-cam.com/video/WRW52dSxeuU/w-d-xo.html) - and oddly enough, someone (I've yet to find the tweet) was going on about how someone ought to actually do choreography for some metal. POOF, here strode in Novelists tearing it up with this song. A few comments on your reaction for your comments section: 1. 1:03 Jeez dude, you picked up those dance moves REAL fast, is this really the first time you've seen the video? 2. 1:58 That's the going conensus, love it or hate it, it's a whole entirely different band now! As HORRORHIPPO commented, "this fucks"! 👊🏻 3. 2:06 This deduction, I agree, she's super fucking cool! Her vibe is rather endearing and note she's basically smiling to varying through the WHOLE SONG and it's... good. Just real good and then... 4. Just after that tasteful solo, as we'd expect from Novelists, holy shit she just drops the vocals into the realm of beast mode! Anyway, got a subscribe out of me and will add a post back to your reaction in mine! 🤘🏻
Imo this made the band 10x more interesting. In todays world of music, you have to stand out.. You need catchy choruses/grooves/great melodies and amazing singers. Like the reality is, is that metal bands need to make money to keep going. How many bands are going to live the slum life for 10 years until they break up? Even the biggest metal bands in Australia are fucking broke lol
I much prefer Novelists’ older technical stuff from Souvenirs and Noir, but this is pretty good. That being said, I wish it was less like Deja Vú, because I really don’t like that album too much.
Instruments are great. Song is decent. Camille's voice hasnt clicked with me yet. Terrorist, heretic, lost cause all were such bangers and the vocals were super catchy but also heavy when needed. Tobias was a great addition to this band, but now that he's left I'll have to retune my ears for this "drastic" change
Bad ass music I'm not a fan of the vocalist it's really really poppy but she has solid aggression when she wants to so I'm verklempt tawk amongst yourselves mmmm
Honestly, this is my least favorite song on the EP (and it’s still decent). Not sure if you’ve checked out the rest of it yet, but I highly recommend it. Also see them live! Was my first introduction to the band on the Erra tour and they were amazing.
This is amazing, never heard of novelist before this song dropped and honestly the band is tight and good but the other singer is the definition of mediocre, yeah he can sing good but it’s just a boring voice and sounds like every other band in their genre. Every old song of theirs would be an immediate skip on my playlist. I hope they re record all their old stuff with their new singer. I’m a huge fan of this new version and hope they don’t look in the rear view mirror. Great song, great hooks, great video. I love the dancing. Reminds me of a mashup of sevendust, evanescence, limp bizkit with a modern twist. This is the direction the genre needs to go if they want to stay hip and relevant otherwise before you know it your favorite band will be the next Grateful Dead and their legacy will die with the fans.
Obviously reserving full judgment for future songs, but in this, the instrumental is kickass but the new singer's voice is just too light and poppy for it (aside from the screams, of course.) I think it's a great swing to try something new and evolve, as bands should, but they just missed the mark with this for me personally. Really not liking the vibe so far, but at the same time I'm excited to see what's coming up in case this was just a bit of a false start
Didnt like the last singer and don't like this single. I feel that at this point they should just change the band's name. Her voice(cleans are good) but harsh vocals seems pretty weak. Her cleans make me think of sevendust for some reason.
I feel like anytime a woman sings in a modern metal band that both sings and screams, too many people immediately starts comparing them to Spiritbox or Jinjer. Maybe thats just cause most metal vocalists are dudes, but thats weird to me. Lol
People hype up Matteo so much, but to be quite honest I’ve hated every novelists vocalist so far 😂 Hope the new one works out, this wasn’t that bad, but the chorus was a lil off
I've got to be honest, I'm a little conventional when it comes to my core music. Women absolutely have their place in this genre and they're killing it for the most part. I do enjoy some songs from a band like Spiritbox, but it's not something I can personally spin daily. Also, MTS is one of my favorite band and I really enjoy Savior. They're not fronted by women, but the addition of their vocals is amazing. I was just personally disappointed with this change. Don't get me wrong, I wish them the best, but when a band used to have male vocals for so long, it's too big of a change to keep the same name in my opinion. Just writing this, I know I could be 100% wrong, but it is how feel at this point.
@@octaviogallo8513 Yeah, to be honest I feel like they're really searching for their true identity since Matteo left the band. It couldn't be more obvious... From both statements they made related to the changes due to the departure of Tobias and the arrival of Camille, it screams just that. Tobias clearly mentioned the issue was the fact that they don't share the same vision about where the band should go in terms of creativity process. He was just fine as the vocalist. I feel like they were looking for something to grow "bigger" which I kind of understand when you want to truly live off your passion. It's a sad reality in this genre.
Lost Cause was the last 'good' song they released, and everything after that has gotten progressively worse. They're basically just radio rock now, which is super sad, because Souvenirs is one of my fav albums of all time. Real ones know that Sal3m is where it's at now
To me it doesn’t matter if the singer is male or female. But this singer in particular comes off as lifeless and flat, the screaming part I guess is okay. Ill pass on Novelist from now on though, it was a good run and wish the lads good luck.
Deja vu was a great EP and very fresh. No generic metalcore
I love that they keep this style
I liked the riffs of the song for sure, but the end really sold me on it. Absolutely slaps at the end
Singing and catchy chorus’ bring people in and they still went full Novelists with 2 solos plus a heavy breakdown. Love this ❤
they didnt go full novelists, they went full generic
She sings on C'est La Vie. She's also done stuff with LANDMVRKS.
Hey
We just dropped a new song with Novelists former vocalist Tobias Rische! Maybe it would be something for you channel to react to. Its called:
CHANGES by 2SILENT feat. Tobias Rische
Thank you✌🏻
She can clearly do it all, cant wait for whats to come
Let's not forget this band has 2 of the best (french) guitarists in the genre rn. Things will prolly get more technical and varied with time.
Nah, they used to be technical and varied, and they were great. They’ve left that behind for more accessible metalcore
Which one? I'd say they have 2 of the best guitarists on the planet let alone France
@@scottmh96 Flo and Pierre, and I ain't forgetting Quentin... The Kadinja boiz

Yeah, hopefully this gets them back on their feet and they start to get a bit more confident to take some risks.

This song is such a banger. Can't wait to hear more. Love this direction for the band.
My favorite band 😍🤘🏼🔥
I loved that, great discovery! Thanks!
Metalvogue over here at the start of the song lol. Pretty solid song and really like her voice. Looking forward to see what else they release
Yeah, I am all the Matt years. The best years.
The solo before the breakdown is literallly the sexiest
Gotta chrck out their song Prisoner...holy hell what a piece of face melting magicalness
I think this its a great song, its a begining of great future🔥 for novelists.
First time I've ever liked a song from Novelists. Glad they changed singers.
bro dances to this the same way I be doin. song fkng rules

This is my first time hearing the song and I’m reallllly loving it; it’s just so fun!
Don’t mind the vocalist instrumentals are cool though!
honestly this has Taproot vibes with the melody choices
personally I dig the vibe, been having it on repeat

First thought from the thumbnail that the new vocalist looks like Stephanie McMahon from WWE. hahaha Tho Novelists are awesome af ♥️
A solid 9 for me. So much fresh energy and talent.
Whenever a band gets a new vocalist you have to look at them as a new band.
She did a one take performance too, because ofc. And wouldn't know it she killed it.
Would be sweet if Courtney from Spirtbox did a feature with Camille.

I believe she was a feature on one of their old songs when Matteo was still the frontman?
I think I'm in love.
I believe she was featured in one of their songs before!

Never heard of his band but first song I heard was "Prisoner" and was immediately interested.
This one is good but not as banal.
I’m still stuck in the Matteo era.
Brrrroooo peep their new single Prisoner its sooooo good!!!
Okay okay I fuck with that
I see the potential. But it left me mostly unimpressed, I’d only give it a 7 because of the potential. The new vocalist seems cool tho.

the fucking choreography ruins it for me, however that chorus and bridge slap
