For the smoke you only need
1: an air tight room
2: more pressure on the smoke so it doesnt turbulate.
You can also make the hologram inside a prism, you just need a big one.
1. Make monitor the desk.
2. Create a prism on the desk using or the fillament, or plastic or glass.
3. Project every angle inside the prism, using the front sides and back of the image to display it in the prism.

For the electromagnetic field device you could also repurpose a theremin. From my understanding it does exactly what you need straight out of the box, with low latency because it's an analog device.
Two possible problems: interference from tabletop and computer hardware, and accuracy.

Idea: The screen position should be adjustable so that it can be raised and lowered along with the desk. (protect your back)
could easily be done with fishing line and some pulleys

For anyone wondering the desktop I believe is something called the Node by encase. They ran a kickstarter a few months back which unfortunately failed but you can search it up here on TH-cam. Sounds like they’re still working on bringing it to market though hopefully and I guess seeing it here is a good sign 😊
Great setup, you should use ionic air propulsion to get rid of the fans and some of the noise.
do you know how LOUD ionic propulsion is? super loud. but high frequency. it'll sound like someone turned on multiple box televisions in the room. the noise would be maddening.

I love how this doesn’t need to be practical. The holographic display and in-desk PC is cool enough for day to day work. The keyboard and “mouse” is just novelty. I think I want this, lol.
I love that you're letting us learn mroe about you and your past over the last couple of years. It really does add more to the content than just some extra funnies
I’d love to see you put a “physical” keyboard inside the desk, with the keys as an LCD layer in the top of the desk. Something where you have 100-ish sensors pointing upward from under the desk, that can detect a tap through the surface. That way it would be a traditional keyboard layout without breaking up the surface of the table

Awesome. In the future you can probably make the screen 25% bigger and curve it around the desk. That would be very aesthetic, although not sure how well the projector would handle that

The TAP XR “keyboard” is amazing. They release mouse function soon too! I’ve been using them since the original TAP strap that went on fingers. So awesome
This is amazing! To fully sell the effect, you can use a Musou black fabric (it absorbs 99.9% of light) backdrop to fully get rid of the projector image on the wall. Completely selling the illusion
The cloaking material is essentially a big lenticular lens. You can find them in old TVs for pretty cheap.

I've got an idea for the next upgrade. You should combine this with the gas powered PC, directing the exhaust gasses to create laminar flow for a better screen, killing two birds with one stone!

Another way to just make it "invisible" is to... COVER THE ROOM IN THE BLACKEST PAINT AND EVERY THING ELSE IN THE ROOM IN SAID PAINT. Cover the walls. Cover the chair. Cover the desk. You would eliminate the projection against the walls, because light won't reflect off the blackest paint. And it would look like you're walking up to an invisible desk floating in darkness. Instead of an illegal polymer that makes things "invisible"

With the smoke, you can get more laminar flow, if you make it go faster because it increases the distance in which turbulence occurs, and you can have a sort of receptive for the smoke, or something that receives it on the other end.
for the screen you could go the route of acoustically trapping the smoke for your screen, that way you can use a screen out of smoke rather than constantly pumping smoke in

you should try and make the whole hologram tv built into the desk imo, since then it would be slightly more portable. also the tap xr and drawing pen seem better for control, but not nearly as clean as the last version. i think you should try and (ik you said no but its just better) use a trackpad of some sort and use a keyboard that doesn't require the user to hold it.
for the hologram tv, maybe you could put it inside the desk and add a mirror that bounces it out of the desk and through a hole like you did in your wall, so that way it would have less latency because you kinda ruined the point of changing out your mouse by making the display wireless.
i think its brilliant besides the wonky keyboard
im thinking either sth similar to the old design with actual keys and like a round guide to not guess blindly, or, a gamepad type detection with a "joystick spot" and a "X, Y, A, B spot"
