- Does it work with external storage? How different is it from the Desktop version? Does it work with external displays? What happens if you run it on an iPad Mini? How does it perform on the M2 iPad Pros?
This is a huge step forward for iPad - hopefully we see more pro apps come to iPad in the near future!

Thank you for this. You've answered the questions that have been on my mind.
Thank you so much! All my questions answered 😊
Other pages are available but hidden. You have to enable keyboard shortcuts.
Yeah, already saw all the desktop tabs on the iPad version as well so the future looks great for editing on the go 😊👍🏻
how do i do that
Command + K and you have to map the show tabs with a key@@nomita2432
@@nomita2432hit command option to bring up keyboard shortcuts scroll all the way down and create shortcut inputs for each page you want like fusion edit etc
Shift + 2 , shift + 3 ......
This is an excellent video. I just got Davinci resolve for my M1 iPad and I’m really looking forward to putting it to work after watching your video. Thanks for posting.
Very precise, detailed Nd most of all best overall review.
Great video, very informative. Thank you 🙏
You have good spirit I was delighted watching this video
6:45 yeah, I noticed it working with Lightroom. I simply snapped my iPad on a metal tray from IKEA and it was good enough to work as a heat sink, so I’ve got the full power back!
BTW, could you please test different cooling solutions for iPad? 😉
I'm in the boat right now with looking into the iPAD pro m2 12.9'' with the 1TB version. I could ALSO get a MBP or even M2 Mac Air that just came out but as mentioned... I really LOVE The imersive experience of the iPad over a laptop. Viewing photos using touch and pencile and just enjoyment of using it is much better than a laptop which I loved.. I'm holding off though and looking forward to an M3 iPAd pro coming up early next year.
The upcoming Apple Vision Pro will be able to run apps for the iPad Pro. Is there any possibility that we could see a version of DaVinci Resolve that's optimized for VR/AR, allowing users to create virtual sets where they could walk around and place objects, lights and cameras anywhere in 3D space?
Broll shots 🔥🔥
This overview was outstanding. You covered the best questions and did so efficiently. Nice work. I just picked up the iPad Pro M2, 12.9 yesterday. I broke my budget to get the 1TB version because it has 16GB of unified RAM and I figured Davinci Resolve would use it. I could have bought a laptop for less but I really enjoy the iPad experience and IOS has a tonne of little apps that are like cheat codes for my video business.
bro can i go with 512 gb varient ?
would it be good for Davinci Resolve ?
{strict budget}
@@NikhilKumar-yq1fx if you do, you will only get 8gb of ram. You need to go 1tb in order to get 16gb. Video memory is a big deal for video editing. Of course it will still run and you might be fine. See if someone has done a DaVinci resolve performance test of 8gb vs 16gb ram. I really stretched my budget. I’m broke AF right now… I’ll get over it…
@@NikhilKumar-yq1fx so this test shows that 8gb is just as good for the tests that he ran. th-cam.com/video/TrlpuvHg_Ig/w-d-xo.html
Great review! How is the rendering speed when we apply noise correction? Can you please respond... or do a video showing the same... 😊🙏
Extremely helpful! Liked and subbed
External storage is amazing. I’ve tried and for some reason don’t know how to change the storage to an external. Just gotta do some research on how to set it up. Very glad it’s possible though.
I was waiting for this feature to get one as well
How long could you get time wise out of the battery you think during an editing session?
woah that's pretty mindblowing, i didn't know resolve for ipad was a thing. i found about it looking stuff up now that the new ipad m4 is out and it's interesting what the form factor can do.
Awsome video 😎
I have the M2 16gb so hopefully it’s fast enough to do all these processes fast! I haven’t decided to use FC or DaV (have never used)
I have an iPad Pro M2 and I would like to know if in the free version of Davinci Resolve I can import to the project, edit and export videos in H265 HEVC. It is not entirely clear to me that the Studio version is the one that allows decoding in H265. That wouldn't affect my case, right? Thank you so much!
I can also use edit, fusion, fairlight page just like desktop version but i require a little bit setting to do about shortcut
This is a great video - THANK YOU!!!!! Pretty touched on the important bits I wanted to know about. It's almost like reading my mind 👍
This is my next plan having a new IPad M3 and DaVinci Resolve system later this year
Great content. Quick question though. For a total newbie to video editing, would DaVinci Resolve for iPad be a great / practical way to get into it or would it be better to start off on the full computer version first before trying the iPad version?
DaVinci is probably the most complex and complicated video editing software on the market right now, so for a totally new editor it'll be a really, really steep learning curve. Final Cut Pro will probably be the easiest to learn but still not totally easy, and Premiere Pro being in the middle of Final Cut and DaVinci
@@ryanzspaulding Thanks for the response. Much appreciated. With more and more great video editing apps appearing on the iPad, merely choosing one as a starting point for a newbie becomes daunting in and of itself. More so when intending to go the long haul with the app, with limited time to allocate for the learning curve and yet needing to choose a "one size fits all" app with the potential to meet all possible future project challenges and requirements.
Hey ZY Cheng, can you use iPad to watch Suzume?
Does the first feature (editing trough external ssd work on the free version of Davinci Resolve? Thanks!
I reply to myself: yes, it does
Do you recommend the iPad Pro configuration with 16GB RAM for Davinci Resolve?
When you plug to a monitor through usbc, how do you continue to have access to the external drive footage?
Finally!
Is there a way to turn on the time and date meta data so I can have a time date counter at the bottom of my video? It’s the only thing I need to accomplish before switching completely to an IPad.
Can he use a regular iPad Air or iPad (10th generation)?
What’s better this or lunafusion for iPad?
Does it have speed ramp feature?
Is there an SSD that also has a slot for an SD card? I’m wondering how you can totally work on a project using the external storage. Do you import the files from a desktop first?
WD My Passport Wireless SSD or something like that.
Will it run ok on the m1 chip ipad pro?
How to reset DaVinci in iPad or set to each settling after edits.
What is the different in davinci work space with 11&12.9 m1 and m2?
Have you had any problems adding third-party transitions to da Vinci an iPad? I can get them on the program they just freeze and the program crashes. And I lose all my data.
how to save projects caz i cant find any menu for the save button
Can you create mask with the pencil?!
External SSD… but what about an external hard drive? (Like a WD Passport)
How can I install it on my first gen iPad Pro?
Any difference between 11" and 13" iPad pros for Davinci Resolve? (Anything other than screen size obviously)
iPad version did have magic mask ? I didn’t find ?
How do you set up working from ssd, not importing but from the ssd it self. Am probably being stupid but any help would be great.
Once the SSD/Drive is plugged in you simply ‘import media’ from Davinci via the Apple ‘Files’, it’s very straight forward and quick. Only thing to be wary of, it only reads certain formats i.e MP4’s, mov etc. nothing too niche
I am using 4th generation Ipad Pro 1TB and it crashed very often when using Davinci Resolve. 😢
can we create compound clip on ipad version?
how do you separate audio from video like you could on pc
Can you help? I have downloaded video clips from my Photos to my Resolve media pool on my iPad Pro but some of the thumbnails show as red rather than an image from the clip. What has happened? All help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Hello friend. I installed DaVInci Resolve 18 on my iPad Pro 12.9 but, in the COLOR tab, when I click on EFFECTS (FX), the LIBRARY with the effects does not open. Do you know what it could be? Thanks!
does blackmagic cloud work?
Yep
I never use the cut page only the edit and color page 😢
Sadly we cant edit prores RAW on external SSD:s with final cut pro. That is huge flaw and that is the reason im selling my ipad pro M1.
do you think it is possible to edit multicam (2x Sony A7s3) file format 4k 60p 10 bit? on an ipad pro M4 with 8gb Ram?
Can you synch multicam footage to audio automatically?
Yes
And have you ever seen a movie called Suzume?
Hello are you a American English speaker?
The real question here is, How do I use davinci 🤣😭
Same 😂
Pretty dissapointing review when you didn’t even delve into the menus to discover way more pages are available than just Cut and Color.
“Actually our performs my MacBook Air” LOL … no thanks
