The other is getting adventurous with editing, I am new and trying to add a little more here and there but since I don't know much about the ins and out of shortcuts and what does what it prevents me from trying new things. I just want to get it edited and uploaded usually. Your tips and tricks' have helped out a lot and has made the video editing easier and less daunting.
Pretty amazing. You can also use a projection to track your mask. For more complex shot and you should also do a tutorial how to place a objet using the point cloud so it track perfectly if you haven't done already. Great tutorial keep it up

I tried using my laptop as a teleprompter but I also need it in front of me at the same time so I scrapped the prompter and just glance down. I've been trying to be more general and rehearse a little more and that helped because I can pause and look down, then cut that portion of the video out or cut to something else for a few seconds and mask my glances but I still end up doing it on camera too much. Your channel and a few others have helped me so much though. I don't do a ton of fancy editing but following along with stuff like this helps me practice my basic skills too and that has helped improve my editing skills very quickly.
Amazed at just how far editing programs have evolved in the last ten years! I stopped doing video work almost 9 years ago, and I remember trying to use the low end version of Vegas, that didn't have tracking, to try and fake the final with this type of text effect. I would move frame to frame, eyeballing slight camera movements, then nudging the text on the X, y, and z axises, all in a futile attempt to get this cool effect in the cheapo version of Vegas. I came close several times,but it was always 'off' just enough to kill the effect.
Well i run a video production business and have been pretty much obsessed with learning how to make good videos and use effects to help. So I just try things until it works 😂😂

DR17 is way more affordable than a new PC and i consider buying the studio version for hobby purposes as soon as i have a computer to work with more efficiently. i do not want to make any advertising, but you will not get a better editing program for that money, or does someone have another opinion?

I did want to enter the world of 3D tracking. I thought I was ready. I wasn't - My current struggle is the latest Da Vinci update locking a camera tracker node behind a paywall 😭 Great video again either way man. Now to find a work around 😩🙏🤞
My creativity has struggled with the lockdowns. Not being able to experience life and people is not conducive to inspiration....at least for me. Most of my videos start getting this subtle moody look that pretty much represents my feelings atm. Would not be a problem if the majority of my clients did not want fun and happy videos. At least I am working (somewhat).

First of all, thank you so much for this great video. Meanwhile, I can not help but say how dramatically easier it is to track texts into video with After Effects. My goodness, I honestly try to do it with Davinci for may be like 10-th time or so. But then just like always after failing to achieve the result I need, I export clip into AE, do everything in just seconds, and put the clip back into davinci.
Fairlight Input busses don't detect my input sources, so difficult to do overdubs, Thanks Billy, you are doing a gr8 jpb.BTW I don't like writing either :)

I sometimes use text with stroke in my videos and was wondering if it is possible to add stroke or an outline to other shapes, like arrows or any other png... Really appreciate your videos. They are very helpful!
I was wondering the same thing and found the answer! Use the "Image plane 3D" next to the "Text 3D" instead of the Text3D. Attach your PNG to that node and BOOM!

thanks, for tracking operations...I use after effects, there is only one "auto-track" button and you can do everything in a few minutes (two-three easy steps).

cause thats the paid version, you can use planar tracker in fusion (its free) there is different tutorials for that
