    The current power system passes power requests from the consumer back through the grid to a single producer per tick. If that producer can't produce enough power it will pull some from it and go to the next producer in the list. Forking and joining via batteries and relays causes all sorts of issues.
    There are a lot of bug reports about the power system.
    Another player submitted a complete rewrite of the power system that fixes basically all these issues to the developers. They're taking a look at it, so maybe we will see it in a future update.

    New to the game, this helps a lot. Thanks!

    5:00 Well having 2mw load is okay there because 1mw is for the lamp and 1mw is for loading the batteries. So it would drop to 1mw after the batteries are charged. Problem is they should get charged but they deplete. That's kinda weird.

      New to barotrauma, and learning wiring has been a nightmare

    it works in the testing area, but when in campaign mode it overloads the junction boxes

    Where were you 180 hours ago, i got the 24 hours in the editor achievement only because im fucking dumb and my subs kept blowing up cause i cant wire shit

      I was in the same situation. I spent so much time debugging that I made a training submarine for myself. Then I realized I might as well make a channel and upload what I know.
      Glad it helped. Check the other videos!

    Nice guide to wiring! Do you by chance know how to make a voice-activated reactor? I've been trying to look up guides and ask other engineers on how to make one but it never seems to work when I replicate it. I think it requires a WiFi component and a RegEx, but I don't know how to put the correct expressions down. If you can help me that would be so helpful! Thanks again and I hope you make more Barotrauma guides!

      The only reactor control i know about that uses RegEx and Wifr components i this one. th-cam.com/video/sYWmfghJVD0/w-d-xo.html

      something like ^(reaactor start)$ should work ^ signifies that it must be the start and $ signifies that it must be the end, the parenthesis create a capture group "reactor start" which is what it looks for, so if you type "reactor start" into chat it should recognize that and output a 1 signal, if you have it setup that way.

      @@killingtimeitself Wait so does that mean if you have no end, if you happen to say "reactor start" in a sentence it will activate?

    • @lonejohnwolf
      @lonejohnwolf ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately there is no input for starting the reactor, only shutdown. I did recently watch a video about a chat controlled reactor recently though. Maybe I can link it later.

      @@lonejohnwolf you can cheese this by setting the fission rate to 0, the turbine isn't required but if you want a clean system thats also recommended. a simple way to do this would be using wire control for the on/off and reactor auto or player control of the reactor when in operation, or if you're using a wire control circuit you could put a multiply component between the fission rate and fission input on the reactor, and when you set it to 1 on one of the inputs that enables the reactor and when you set it to 0 well it forces it to 0 fission regardless of what the circuit says.
      there are also other ways to do this as well, greater than components and output specifics, sgns technically can as well iirc. Probably others as well i just cant think of any.

    I just have my batteries constantly receive power to charge from a junction box, and then wire the batteries to another junction box through a relay I can turn off or on at any given time. I'm currently building a sub where it toggles the battery power on or off if you say "battery" in chat.

    Cool, thanks for this. Also could you tell me what load means exactly

    • @Captain_Yogurt
      @Captain_Yogurt 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The load on the reactor is how much power is needed to power everything that’s asking for power from it.
      So say you have 2 1kw lights needing power, the load would be 2kw, and you’d need an output equal to or higher then 2kw to power them, assuming you have no batteries wired in

    I put down 6 junction boxes and wired them from 1 through 6 all wired to eachother and they wont charge. I am using the massive reactor though because i want a giant engine to actually work

    what about reactor>junction1> battery>junction2>lights. can't you just power everything from junction2
