Dude, their balance is just perfect. The fact that they're in full-blown fist-fights, on ice, in skates and staying upright is impeccable.

It's my first day and i love it😂
As a massive basketball fan and recent hockey fan, I love how I used to think that the Malice at the Palace, the 2004 Pacers v. Pistons brawl, was absolutely insane and unprecedented in sports.
Homeboy in the #1 clip was beating a fan with his own dress shoe.
the bruins in the 70s were completely insane.. the big bad bruins

Man, no other sport like it! 2 guys..pissed off..throw leather..penalty..back on the ice
This rule applies only in the NHL. In the international level, fighting is forbidden.

Golaie fights make no sense but i love them so much. How could two people have beef when theyre on complete opposite ends of the rink?😂
If you watch the video the goalie fights didn't start out as goalie fights, one entered the brawl then the other joined to even the numbers again.
If you were a goalie, wouldn't you want to beat the crap out of Patrick Roy?
they start out of more so, respect for their teammates, to get involved, but they kinda have to hold back since they have more padding, so its only fair that if they wanna fight someone, equally itd be the other goalie
goliath yeti, you have to be a bit insane to be a goalie to start with.
Basically the rule is if one goaltender gets involved the other one has to come even the odds

The goalies are the craziest ones on the ice.
@@cpmow831im a goalie for the dallas stars. Can confirm
Except Holtby never wanted the fight and Emery was a POS for basically committing assault.
Yea , I’m trying to figure out why goalies fight , they’re 100 yards apart…
@JO-vj5lq goalies only fight each other. Players almost never fight goalies. Unwritten rules type but also different padding. Fights are not just because someone did something. Back then, coaches would allow certain players to fight to motivate/hype up/get the team going if they were being lethargic or low energy.
Keep in mind, back then, certain players were on the team as the goons, the guys you play to rough up the other team.
So if goalies were to fight if a team fight breaks out, the goalies go for each other.
Imagine telling your kids that a whole NHL hockey team attacked you and used your own shoe to hit you in the face
🤣🤣🤣
And that it was Mike Milbury, who hates fighting now.
@@Swim2TheMoon he doesn't hate it - just says that because he is on-air now......
That one is my absolute fave
Why?
I'll never forget being a young kid watching the Avs and Wings play in the late 90s. have not seen anything like that since. probably never again.
As a Wings fan, I miss those rivalry days. I hated Colorado so much back then...
@@philsie204 As a kid Avs fan I was too young to realize that we were the bad guys in the rivalry 😂😂😂 definitely brought the best out of the both sides, handfuls of hall-of-famers on both benches, unbelievable hockey. I hope it can be reignited with this Avs core and y'all's up and coming youngsters in a few years - only problem really is we're in different conferences now :(
I hated the Avs but when the Wings met up with them it was great hockey.. RIP Probert
That hit on Draper was probably one of the worst hits I've seen in 40 years of watching hockey. It must have been hard for Avs players to have to stick up for Lemieux over the course of that rivalry knowing that was such a dirty hit...
Probably one of the best rivalries in NHL in a long time!! I'd have to say one of the meanest players in that rivalry was Shannahan.... He was mean and dirty. Made no bones about it :)
Tie Domi was an absolute psycho. The way he was grinning ear to ear after loosing that fight with Probert made him one of the best to do it. 🐐
The funniest parts of hockey fights are the teammates that aren’t fighting are just kinda aggressively hugging each other
I was at a hockey game today and when they started fighting, at first almost everyone on both teams was aggressively huddled around Keegan Iverson as Mitchell Heard was just beating the absolute shite outta him 💀
Just waiting for their turn to dance

The rivalry between the Avs and Redwings in the ‘90s really was incredible.

That Flyers/Canadiens one was epic. I remember it like it was yesterday. All those fights and not one penalty because it was before the game. It's said that several members of the Flyers staff had Ron Hextall locked in the trainers room because he wanted to come out and fight.
It’s true. Mike Keenan attests to it. That series was awesome.
I watched that live on TV, god the 80s were the golden age of hockey. Dave Brown was in the thick of every fight. In one playoff series in 85 or 86 he was fighting 2 Rangers at the same time, one with each fist.
When Ron Hextall did come out and fight a few years later, he got destroyed by Felix Potvin! That should have been in this video.
Those Flyers fans almost shook the glass right off the boards LMAO epic
What I was thinking one of my favs as a flyers fan
I used to absolutely love watching the Avalanche and Red Wings go at it back in the day. Any time they played you could pretty much guarantee a buncha brawls. I remember watching that Roy vs Osgood fight live. There were fights all over the ice and Roy wanted to get in on it. Even my sweet little old grandma was cheering them on. Classic!
I have a hard time endorsing activities that cause brain injuries, but my mom's side of the family were hockey players and massive Red Wings fans, so I just remembered own sweet lil ol' grandma doing the same thing in the 90's 😂.

The 80s were the high water mark for the NHL, before Bettman watered the league down through expansion, before the neutral zone trap, before goalies looked like Michilen Men. Lots of goals, lots of fights, and many of the greatest players of all time.
Michelin man 😭😭😭
Totally agree with this. Right before the USSR broke up the NHL was competing with the European and Soviet leagues and getting more athletic, while still having the toughness of the 70s. Best hockey ever.
I can’t even stay standing on ice skates, never mind fighting on them.
My class at school went to the ice rink for some skating back in 1971. I was the only one who couldn't skate. I was so embarresed and alone at that moment.
i can literally do every athletic thing besides ice skating.....
This was a great compilation but there will never, ever be another Bob Probert.
12:17. That ref is thinking "I don't get paid enough!"
😂😂
The ref at 3:10 lol
Bruce Hood was forced to retire after this series because he lost control over this game.
Standard procedure in the days before instant replay was for the ref to stand back, studiously taking down everybody's number in his little notepad with a pissy look on his face, while the linesmen did the crowd control.
as a Philly representative, the amount of times the flyers are on here should surprise just about nobody
or the Red Wings
Sadly, those days are long gone.
Flyers in the 70s were the most brutal. When the Soviets toured the NHL in the 70s, they beat every team but their last game was in the Spectrum in Philly, where the Flyers pummeled them so badly they threatened to quit in the middle of the game, NHL ref told them to get back out or forfeit. They finally came out and took their loss like grownups.
It's a tradition 😂😂
@@Rockhound6165 No way. Philly will always be the worst town in the country. They're just in remission right now.

97' Fight Night at the Joe, was one of the biggest hockey events in the last half century. It wasn't random mobs of pairings. Every nuance of the big fight was choreographed by the Red Wings to get payback for Draper.
That fight was amazing! Go wings!
As a Detroit native what time to be alive.
Solid team to stand up for Draper.
During one of the NFL games a week or two ago, they were interviewing a lineman and he complimented the toughness of one of his fellow players by saying hes a football player with the toughness of a hockey player. I thought that was a huge compliment towards the whole sport.
