it just comes down to in reality that there is good and bad of everyone .. of course others had a harder time coming up no doubt but in this day and age, for a while, anyone can make it..it truly comes down to childhood and your will to make it out... personality ambition and talent ..and if you dont have those traits yet thats okay we should lift eachother up until you can be strong enough to do it.. i dont see how anyone thinks otherwise except deep rooted hate and being close minded or like a chip on your shoulder.. i hope one day we can overcome this .. he was also saved by a white cop so this has also set his mind in a certain way, of course hes not going to believe racism exists , bad people exist ... people express hatred or discrimination towards specific people usually not because they are racist, but because theyve experienced something or were grown up that way and never came out of it.. anyone can come out from it but some never do out of stubbornness and those are just bad people showing us why we need to do better ..i was in a time and place where i had to save someone and nothing else crossed my mind during that besides holy f this human being does not deserve to die this can not happen .. nothing about race ... this is one thing ill never understand because i guess i havent experienced it on others levels but i just cant help but think why are we as a whole are so hell bent on it ? the majority of us dont think that way or at least they dont right away and i think its a tiny bit good we can see who is like that and stay far away from them and let them waste away...

The amount of courage this took on Wayne’s part is going to fall into a whole domino effect of men starting to open up about mental health. All it takes is one person to speak out. HUGE props to him🙌🏽
Indeed, I hope More will step up. As a career firefighter guys think it’s being soft. Fuck that!!! its being a strong person to know you need a bit of help.

@Nathan Smith There is a balance! Being their parent always teaching rigjt from wrong not being their friend but also still listening to them and letting them be an individual. They shouldn't be afraid to come to a parent and say I'm feeling this way but I don't understand why. When we were kids we didn't understand how to process these feelings. If you die tonight, do you know where you're going? Did you know that Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven and He loves you? Through Him, God offers you a FREE gift - forgiveness. All you need to do is repent, turn away from your sins and evil ways, from now on put your faith completely in Jesus Christ and be obedient to Him. Explanation: God doesn’t want anybody in hell because He loves us, but you must understand why we deserve hell and why those who refuse to live under His authority will go there. (Matthew 12:30) ''Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.'' He gave us the law (Ten Commandments) not to make us righteouss, but rather to show us our sin (Romans 3:20). God gave us free will and since Adam sinned in the garden, sin is the nature of our flesh and we’ve all sinned. (Romans 3:23) and the law demands death to those who sin (Romans 6:23). For someone to be justified before God they have to be sinless, that's why everyone need Jesus Christ. None of us are good in God’s eyes, because for God good means moral perfection. We all have broken God’s commandments, we all have sinned in our lives so none of us are good. ‘’For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.’’ (James 2:10). ‘’For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.’’ (John 3:16) That’s why only Jesus can save us, because He lived a perfect and sinless life and is the only worthy sacrifice and died for our sins. We aren’t saved based on our good deeds/works, but only by the grace of God through faith. ''For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9) He said ‘’it is finished’’ (John 19:30), which means He paid the fine for our sins (past, present, future) to be forgiven if we repent and trust in Him. ‘’Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.’’ (Acts 3:19) Biblically, a person who repents does not continue willfully in sin. Repentance is a turning from sin, and it always results in changed behavior (Luke 3:8). While sorrow from sin is not equivalent to repentance, it is certainly an element of scriptural repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10). Do not play a hypocrite. (John 3:3) Jesus replied, "Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again." If you confess that Jesus is Lord (John 10:30) and believe that God raised Him from the dead, then you’ll be saved. (Romans 10:9) When you believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession-to the praise of His glory. (Ephesians 1:13-14) You are born again with the spirit of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. (John 3:36) We are living in the last days and Jesus Christ will return soon. Get right with God and start your relationship with Jesus Christ right now before it’s too late, because there’s not much time left!. "But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.’’ (Mark 13:32) You may start with a simple prayer from the bottom of your heart, TRULY believing that God listens and cares. (Jeremiah 29:13) ''You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.'' Get to know Christ through His word. At first I recommend reading Gospel of John and book of Romans. God bless you!
Yes, mainly cause i have asked myself that question so many times. I know what it feels like to have people around you and feel alone at the same time.

It is okay to love ppl for their creativity and their way of expressing their craft, but to say someone is your idol when they're just as imperfect as you are does not sit well with God

Wayne is the realest. I've seen other interviews where he thinks for himself and gives his opinion unapologetically even if it's "unpopular" with the media. He makes zero excuses about it and I respect that.
"Loneliness does not come from having no people around you, but from being unable to communicate the things that seem important to oneself, or from holding certain views which others find inadmissible." Carl Jung. It's important to find just 1 person that you can feel heard around.
This is what the media is accomplishing. They tried to demonize 75 million Americans and make them feel voting for 1 of the 2 candidates was an inadmissible view. Same thing with the war on "Anti-Vaxxers", "Conspiracy theories/theorists", etc.

Mental health is real & I respect Wayne so much for being a advocate for myself & so many others. No one will ever understand the struggles of having mental health issues.
The real pain to me isn't even the one I feel it's just seeing it in the people around me. Seeing so much negativity while trying to stay positive, that is the challenge. Every second of the way your faith is tested and depending on who you are what you've been through, you might be Constantly waiting on the next bad thing to happen. Growing up and being a slave means nothing to me, seeing what it's doing to my people, my mom, is the conflict. over 2000 years of "civilized" existence and daily mistreatment/racism somehow still exists. The world seems to fail to meet the bare minimum, Every time.
Its not beyond understanding. Understanding we're all "mental," beings of mind, and we all have "issues" that keep us from being Wholy holy - Healthy, free from sickness and dis-ease.

this brought me to my knees. I've struggled with hiding my mental health issues since I was 13 and at age 30 I decided to be honest about it and it almost broke me. This was so needed.
I stumbled upon this randomly and what a full circle moment. Wayne gave an interview with MTV behind the music circa a decade ago and this story was told from a comply different perspective, one filled with bravado and hyper masculinity. The truth behind the event is not only heart breaking but so commendable. I’m so happy he got to this point and that I, a life long fan got a chance to see one of my favs in a different light. Love you always Tunchi,
This is my favorite lil Wayne interview. He is not only a lyrical genius but he’s also a tremendous mental health advocate. Acho walked him through this like a true friend. Great video!
Depression is "Real" as young boys living in single-parent homes are taught to tough it out or it doesn't exist. It carries on to adulthood in a more challenging way bc it wasn't taken seriously as a child. Its great that especially men are now recognizing the importance of seeking help to resolve mental health issues.
Yes this, I’ve gotten into arguments with my no good of a father (context: estranged to me/abusive and used to be out of our lives for us older siblings) just because I tell my younger brother he doesn’t have to be alone and “tough it out”. I tell him crying is not weak, that’s actually supposed to help you as crying is not an emotion or feeling, but a way to help you relieve and cope and to be frank, that is quite natural. Your body produces this stuff naturally and it’s normal. Lool I’ll stop my rant Edit: And for people who say that that is making them soft, I will say this.. The more you refrain and hold it in, the more you will cry so actually that’s getting to be found counterproductive
Often the discussion degrades into a competition of woe listing. It’s one thing to talk about your problems, but when the person responds with a list of there own in a “I’ll trump you” sort of way(pardon the expression) that’s not the person you need to talk to. Yes, Every person’s worst problem is their worst problem. Yes, it’s good to remember someone out there probably has it worse. It’s not good to compare your problems to others.

This was a really good, heartfelt interview. When he spoke about his Mother that reminded me of my Mother when I was a kid. She didn’t carry a gun, but so many people were scared of her including a lot of my friends parents. I thought she was crazy when I was a kid. She would tell me that I better call the police because she’s gonna whip my ass. I got so many whippings with everything under the sun. I remember getting whipped with a high heel shoe because I didn’t have a coat on. I kept trying to tell her the weather had changed and it wasn’t cold outside. I hated her as a kid. As an adult I realized that that’s all she knew to do to try to make me stay out of trouble. The crazy thing is she’ll tell you that I was always a good kid. I have so many stories that I could write a book. All that yelling and whipping isn’t me. That stuff can make kids become angry adults. That’s why I don’t judge people no matter what they look like. I don’t know what they’ve been thru to bring them to the point they’re at.
I'm glad you thought she was crazy instead of internalizing your trauma as much as you might have. That's a question. I was terrified of my mother. Weird, she was just a woman. I still judge, and I'm 64. It's human.

it just comes down to in reality that there is good and bad of everyone .. of course others had a harder time coming up no doubt but in this day and age, for a while, anyone can make it..it truly comes down to childhood and your will to make it out... personality ambition and talent ..and if you dont have those traits yet thats okay we should lift eachother up until you can be strong enough to do it.. i dont see how anyone thinks otherwise except deep rooted hate and being close minded or like a chip on your shoulder.. i hope one day we can overcome this .. he was also saved by a white cop so this has also set his mind in a certain way, of course hes not going to believe racism exists , bad people exist ... people express hatred or discrimination towards specific people usually not because they are racist, but because theyve experienced something or were grown up that way and never came out of it.. anyone can come out from it but some never do out of stubbornness and those are just bad people showing us why we need to do better ..i was in a time and place where i had to save someone and nothing else crossed my mind during that besides holy f this human being does not deserve to die this can not happen .. nothing about race ... this is one thing ill never understand because i guess i havent experienced it on others levels but i just cant help but think why are we as a whole are so hell bent on it ? the majority of us dont think that way or at least they dont right away and i think its a tiny bit good we can see who is like that and stay far away from them and let them waste away...

If you die tonight, do you know where you're going? Did you know that Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven and He loves you?
Through Him, God offers you a FREE gift - forgiveness. All you need to do is repent, turn away from your sins and evil ways,
from now on put your faith completely in Jesus Christ and be obedient to Him.
Explanation:
God doesn’t want anybody in hell because He loves us, but you must understand why
we deserve hell and why those who refuse to live under His authority will go
there. (Matthew 12:30) ''Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not
gather with me scatters.'' He gave us the law (Ten Commandments) not to make us righteouss, but
rather to show us our sin (Romans 3:20). God gave us free will and since Adam
sinned in the garden, sin is the nature of our flesh and we’ve all sinned.
(Romans 3:23) and the law demands death to those who sin (Romans 6:23). For
someone to be justified before God they have to be sinless, that's why everyone need Jesus Christ.
None of us are good in God’s eyes, because for God good means moral perfection. We all
have broken God’s commandments, we all have sinned in our lives so none of us
are good. ‘’For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is
guilty of breaking all of it.’’ (James 2:10). ‘’For God so
loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever
believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.’’ (John 3:16) That’s why only Jesus can
save us, because He lived a perfect and sinless life and is the only worthy
sacrifice and died for our sins. We aren’t saved based on our good
deeds/works, but only by the grace of God through faith.
''For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -
not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
He said ‘’it is finished’’ (John 19:30), which means He paid the fine for our sins
(past, present, future) to be forgiven if we repent and trust in Him.
‘’Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that
times of refreshing may come from the Lord.’’ (Acts 3:19) Biblically, a person who repents does not continue willfully in sin.
Repentance is a turning from sin, and it always results in changed behavior (Luke 3:8). While sorrow from sin is
not equivalent to repentance, it is certainly an element of scriptural repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10). Do not play a hypocrite.
(John 3:3) Jesus replied, "Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again."
If you confess that Jesus is Lord (John 10:30) and believe that God raised Him from the dead, then you’ll be saved. (Romans 10:9)
When you believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance
until the redemption of those who are God’s possession-to the praise of His glory. (Ephesians 1:13-14)
You are born again with the spirit of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. (John 3:36)
We are living in the last days and Jesus Christ will return soon.
Get right with God and start your relationship with Jesus Christ right now before it’s too late, because there’s not much time left!. "But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.’’ (Mark 13:32)
You may start with a simple prayer from the bottom of your heart, TRULY believing that God listens and
cares. (Jeremiah 29:13) ''You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.''
Get to know Christ through His word. At first I recommend reading Gospel of John and book of Romans. God bless you!

Everything this man ever said is a cry for help. Every gun bar, sex bar, "I think I need counciling, I lost my mind and I still haven't found it."
The fact the police didn’t check to see he was okay… is alarming . I’m glad God protected him. Thanks for sharing Wayne .
But it wasn't God. It was a officer...
Well no uncle bob checked on him but the others didn’t
Well keep in mind it was New Orleans in the projects .
I love how his mom changed through that experience . It’s so many moms that carry so much baggage & pour it on to there kids with anger & sometimes it takes a major situation for you to have a eye opening . Mental health is real & I respect Wayne so much for being a advocate for myself & so many others. No one will ever understand the struggles of having mental health issues.
I soo agree with this comment
Just sucks when ya mom have it too
The real pain to me isn't even the one I feel it's just seeing it in the people around me.

My 2nd favorite behind his black lives matter one.
Facts
This comment is straight up REAL!
Lool I’ll stop my rant
Edit: And for people who say that that is making them soft, I will say this.. The more you refrain and hold it in, the more you will cry so actually that’s getting to be found counterproductive
Why he sounds like that
Often the discussion degrades into a competition of woe listing.
It’s ironic how “One more chance” was playing before and then after the shot he survived, it’s like God gave him one more chance

What a great interview, I love hearing Wayne tell stories. He's so humble and just real
It's human.
Big facts. My mom was the same way
