Sean Bean is a legend. 99 minutes worth of scenes, slightly less screen time, and he stole the show. I thought about Ned every step of the way.
Didn't realise he had such little screen time until the video and that's so true. The way he carries himself on screen makes you miss him and want his guidance for the other characters for the whole show. He's like the good version of Darth Vader, only had 34 mins of screen time in the OT but the impact they have is insane.
This video is missing plenty scenes with him so that's not really true
Nah this video just cut out a lot of scenes
He had 1h 39m of screen time
I'm always fascinated if I rewatch stuff and see how little sceentime some characters have even though they left a big mark
0:50 This dialogue is in the books, its wonderful. Ned recives the notice that the man who was his loved master is dead, and the first thing he respond is "How is your sister and the boy?" Always putting Cat feelings before❤ always thinking in the others
Mentor, not master.
Ned reminds me of qui gon . Gone too early but at the same time such a influential character throughout the story
Bwahaha 😂😂 Qui Gon was a pointless fool.
@@johnshogskins4443 just say you don’t like Star Wars and leave it at that 💀
@@johnshogskins4443 there's always a bigger fish.
@@biglbigl9229 so is there a fish the size of the universe?
@@nunyabusiness7056 there's more lore and canon than just the movies.. Qui Gon is often described as the last true Jedi, he was the one who discovered being able to live on through the force and project one's spirit to others, as well as the first one to sense the Sith had returned. In large part due to him recognizing that the Jedi council was flawed and falling away from the principles of the light side.
as for his "wisdom and honor" in comparison to ned stark, that was something you inserted in your own comment and does not have anything to do with what @noefajardojr3981 actually said, they simply stated they are both characters that despite how influential their contribution to the overarching story is, they perished long before the main events of the series.
Jesus Christ. The acting, the dialogue, the character work, the visuals, the design.
It’s like this and season 8 are two entirely different shows.
Give it a rest…over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over
@@mikerob2134 No.
You say that like everything was terrible in season 8 besides the writing
@@eh6623aside from a few bits of acting, music & some good shots… eeeeverything else was absolutely awful
@@mikerob2134The North remembers
Such a cool character!
I can't wait to see him in next seasons
A boy of summer
UNFUNNY
You’re not gonna believe this..
It's great! By season 8 he becomes king of the seven kingdoms and everybody lives happily ever after.
Me too! Seems like a very intresting character
Hearing Ned refer to Jon as a Stark ("you have my blood") knowing that WE know Ned was aware of his lineage the whole time, is a very interesting Easter Egg for show watchers to catch the next time around. Ned is always subtly in an implicit state involving Jon. Like an inside joke only he is part of.
He does have his blood Jon is half Stark Ned is his uncle
Well even bastards have the “blood” of their noble parents so not realy
I mean its not a lie technically. Since Ned Stark is still his uncle.
Yeah, watching it back now I like to interpret the line “you may not have my name” as Ned referring to Jons true Targaryian lineage rather than his bastard name
I believe it's also why he didn't want Daenarys killed. I think he'd always planned to have a back-up card by wedding Jon to Daenarys in case the Lannisters ever.. y'know, Lannistered.
Sean bean is such a phenomenal actor. He controls any scene he’s in. All eyes on him
I can’t imagine the fear he felt before his death. Unable to return his daughters back home to safety. Aware that his daughters will witness his death left traumatized. Unaware if they will live or be killed due to him alarming Cersei he knows her secret.
That was the dumbest thing he did
Ned was far to honorable a man for Kings Landing.
Even worse he realized his daughters would be mistreated like brood mares and that his sons are walking into a war they're likely to lose against a vicious house
@@KolyaBennetthe was just too stupid
Never forget his confession of treason in public for such an honorable man and while he's done everything right, just to keep his daughters safe.
Funny how it took the man less than 30 minutes to become the MC for seven seasons after he died
B-but.. he's only the MC for the first...
What’s MC?
@@valdo2323 Main Character
@@BobTheArchmage thanks man
@@Onigirlibut like 70% of the plot of the other 7 seasons is "damn, we shouldn't have killed"
You can always say no, Ned 😭
8:30 It's not until now you realize that Ned was likely having flashbacks to when he fought Dayne. If this is the case, this is masterful writing and connection.
robert’s rebellion
Nah it’s just battle in general him fighting Dayne isn’t the only battle he ever fought it’s actually one of the last battles he fought in the Rebellion
@@josephstalin2606thats point, he trained Jaime
@@SlZIJI What?!
"i wish you good fortune in the wars to come"
Cat:- you nearly killed little Finger, yesterday!!!
Me:- he should have
If LittleFinger was killed, I doubt anyone would've gone against Ned.
I don't believe a man like him would've ever confessed something he didn't do, he would ve trusted rob to rebel and save his sister's, and told the truth anyways.
he did it to protect Jom as he promised to Lyanna
He didn’t trust his son to win he was “just a boy” Varys is the one that has to reassure him that “boys have been conquerors before”. Plus Sansa was in immediate danger he would’ve done anything to protect her even admitting to a false accusation. If everything went to plan Ned would’ve been spared which wouldn’t have caused everything afterwards to happen the way it did, but Joffrey had to go and F it up by going back on his word
for his sister , she knew robert.
Yeah. Robert would definitely murder Jon if he ever found out even if he was Ned's nephew@@clintoncox5751
Robert named Joffrey to be king specifically. Ned did, in fact, alter his final command. That's why he confessed! He was guilty.
I love how his friend wouldn’t let her watch them execute her father. I always thought the first time he would escape somehow. Was truly heartbroken when he didn’t.
Sean Bean masterclass. I still think Season 1 exuded the strongest feeling of ASOIAF than any other.
Its always like that with first seasons. Underbudget and creative.
@PRubin-rh4sr yup they don't have the budget for big action scenes so the writing has to be top notch and thanks to GRRM, we got 4 masterpiece seasons.
Fr this felt like they took the pages out right out of the book and played it out exactly how you imagined it
5:45 GOD his acting is insane
I wonder if Sean knew Lyanna was his mom. His demeanour is just too good for him not to know 😢
@@AstroSully If I’m remembering right, I read somewhere that the showrunners correctly guessed that Lyanna was Jon’s mother before they began filming the series. So if that is true, he 100% knew that while filming this scene. But yes, his expression just *screams* that he was aware of this.
Yep you just unlocked my memory. It was part of the interview question GRRM asked when he was looking for Writers for the TV Show. Also If I remember correctly Sean Bean himself knew about this and read the books. @@TheLevitatingFleem
Looking back, there is so much foreshadowing. The conversation with Jon about the Nights Watch, him saying that you are a Stark (Lyanna) even though you don't have my name, you have my blood. All true. Magnificent writing.
My favourite foreshadowings are jon having the name of the man who raised ned but wasn't his dad and having the only white fured direwolf
The subtle nervous tics he makes when Robert talks about Lyanna. Man…
Not even half an hour of screen time and he's one of the greatest characters of all time
Joffrey was stupid. Killing Ned cursed them all
so was his mother ,cersei
@@EPFOEXAM No, Cersei wasn't stupid. She's just a mother.
@@ArchitectGGA stupid mother.
@@ArchitectGG A very, very stupid mother. Cersei is the most stupid out of the 4 Lannisters. By far.
@@ArchitectGGCersei was a moron countless times…
Ned Stark is without a doubt my favorite character in the entire series! It sucks that he only got one season.
He is indeed a very interesting character, as he knowingliy notices, slipping into moral selfcontradictions, when it comes to decide between duty and honor.
The music in the series is fantastic, but the removal of it in most of the scenes here gives them some really powerful drama.
When Ned stands the only people is remain seated are Littlefinger and Maester Pycell. Showed where their allegiances really were.
Its wild.. Ned never actually ran game on Cat... he was actually a good and faithful husband. Too bad she died not knowing the truth.
This isn't every scene. There's tons of missing ones
And then HBO would take this video down
cause some scenes got copyrighted so if you want all scenes you should download it from the link in description and I said that several times

Ned stark didn’t get overtaken for total screen time until season 4, with Tyrion finally racking up more minutes
I can’t believe that to be true at all
@@freyasworn2600 he's lying, Tyrion was everywhere in first two seasons already
Just not true 😂
Btw, can we give kudos to Ned for being able to fight against Jaime on semi-even footing? It's obvious that Jaime is the better of the two during the fight, but he's also the best swordsman in the realm at that point. The fact that Ned can keep up with him and sometimes pressure him is rather impressive.
Man, Jaime is not a best swordsman. Cmon, Nedd better than weak Jaime
Not the best but certainly one of the better ones. Ser Barristan would have clapped his cheeks before D&D nerfed him to kill him off in S5.
Hes hardly gonna beat ned in seconds, ned wouldve gave him a run
@@MegamarodJaime in the books is the best swordsman alive in the seven kingdoms
Arthur Dayne and prime Barristan are the only ones superior to him
The show took things differently, they severely nerfed Jaime,Barristan etc and buffed the main characters like Ned and Jon
Jon in the books is a solid swordsman, maybe even talented, but he's not even close to being the best
@@_Morph-what a ridiculous statement. Jamie is top 3 in Westeros before losing his hand. Of all time, might I add.
See that look Ned gage Rodrick when they found the mama direwolf makes me think they both knew more then everyone else
winter is coming
No it’s just the type of look the oldest most experienced men there who are close give each other when they both instinctively know how out of the ordinary that was.
Actyally in the books most of the characters apart from bran knew the symbology of a stag killing the dire wolf. They were silent for a while and stared at each other.
the episode 1 hairstyle for ned was perfect wish he kept that for the whole season
The emotional shock that racks even your physical body when they execute Ned and at the Red Wedding is hard to forget.
This is the man I was ready to follow into battle for 8 seasons at least. Goddamnit
Man that look on Ned's face when he discovers that Joffrey ain't the rightful heir. "Oh this shit is gonna be BAD." And he was right. LMAO
legends say littlefinger is still bringing the city watch
"I finish him off in other ways..."
Cersei- Superhead of the 7 Kingdoms😏
nice 😏
Perfectly spent 28 minutes and 29 seconds
So strange. Ned, regarded as a man of honor and upholder of truth…yet the very the things that bring him down is himself betraying his own nature. Hiding the truth about Jon, twisting Roberts words in his will, false confessing to usurping Joffrey.
His undoing was his arrogance, not his willingness to bend on his ideals. Arrogance led him to ride south with robert and serve as hand. Arrogance is what led him to even dare to blackmail Cersei into running away and saving her children. Arrogance let him believe he was anything other than a dead man that doomed his house and his family all for "honor".
Honor only serves the living, it turns on the foolish in their graves.
How did he twist Robert's words?
Robert told him to serve as regent until his son joffrey comes of age. Ned wrote "until my heir" instead. Yes, he didn't have a malicious intent, but still.
@@user-yv2ee2ei1bbut Joffrey is not bobby b son
@user-yv2ee2ei1b Ned went to South because his best friend needed and begged his help. He confronted Cersei with the truth and gave her the chance to run away from Robert's wrath once he found out the truth. Joffrey was the heir at that point so changing son Joffrey to heir was not twisting anything. Probably in an official document the word heir was more appropriate to use.
Not all scenes but thank you none the less.
There is no other character than Ned Stark I relate myself more. Every second of his moments hurts me. 🐺🖤🇦🇿
Very nice. I look forward to season 2 scenes of Ned Stark!
2:30 "It's done your grace, the Targaryan's are gone." "Not all of them." In hindsight Jon is the terrifying subtext of this conversation.

Still waiting for season 2 scenes. The one with the head spike is very memorable.
8:22 - “uh oh what have I encouraged?!” This girl is going herself into trouble.
Ned Stark S1 scenes... As if we had more seasons with him
Can’t wait for his season two clips
Me too. Can't wait to see him reunite with Jon and tell him who his mother is. Probably some random girl, but we'll see
Lannister is complete opposite of Stark.
Dads: one loves his kids and is respectful / one tolerates his kids and is controlling
Children: Starks have a halfbrother/ Lannisters have half of a brother
Mothers:: Cat is alive at the beginning of the story/ Joanna is dead to begin with so end of story
Ned doing the honorable thing his whole life and being known for it even past his dishonest confession and murder by the king who past the sentence but didn't swing the sword(Ned's own sword by the way)/ Jaime lives keeping quiet about the noble sacrifice he made by breaking his oath to save a city and murdering his king with his own sword (Jaime's literal own sword plus the King's Guard are the king's own sword)
cant wait for all the cutscenes from season 2
Ned Stark should have won the game of thrones
He looks like a badass on the throne
When we see back now.. how can a man be this strong and honorable
I thought this was a reveal of a new show about the Trident war, with just his name as the title. Sounds pretty epic
I'm guessing seasons 2-8 would be Ned's view from the top of the head spike
J I wouldve LOVE to see a scene written with the utmost care between Ned and Twyin !
cant wait for season 2 all scenes
🙂
Biggest mistake (of many) Ned made was not telling Cat Jon's real parentage. I get keeping it secret at the start. He barely knew her. But after a couple years of marriage and trust building? Had she known she would have embraced jon, in all likelihood he would have been named a stark, and everything would have been different, potentially for the better.
11:19 "The wolves are howling," their leader said. Ned could see rain running down his face. "Such a small pack, though.
Missing some scenes like when Arya was brought to Robert after the fight with Joffrey, waking up after getting stabbed in the leg, finding out Jon Arryn was poisoned etc
I know that the North is not the richest part of Westeros, but the Starks are an ancient house that ruled over the North for THOUSANDS of years, and are not poor. At least they're not supposed to just look like some well-off peasants.
Northerners are a utilitarian, robust folk. They value function over form and dress accordingly.
how can you compare the northerners clothes to peasants when the show has shown peasants and how they dress. Northerners don’t care about the song and dance of the south and that shows in their clothing. Take it up with the clothing department which clearly knows its job
Stupid af comment, the armor houses wear are different everywhere and are often suited to their needs. How many Tully's do you see decked out in plate armor? How would that make sense in the riverlands or the freezing north? It makes perfect sense to have well insulated armor for the north, the Lannister soldiers are decked out because they're south and have the wealth for that.
I guess you think the have to dress like people in King's Landing with that weather😂😂
This isn’t complete… great quality though
Can you do a video for season 2 also? I’m almost done with season one and I wanna see which scenes he’s in for the next season since he’s my favorite character
"Bear Island knows no king, but the King in the North, whose name a Stark"
#HereWeStand 🐺🤝🐻
I really enjoyed it, where is part 2 ?
Ned and Cat definitely both knew that was goodbye
when will you upload season 2 scenes?
😢😭 rip Ned Stark😢
Please man Jon snow s6 🙏😊
He’s amazing!
still waiting for the next time they meet and talk about his mother
"u served him well, when serving was safe"
He wanted to prove aswell to Ned his badly misjudge. Jamie was right..
Lmao Jon gets sent to the wall, never to see his family again...
Ned: ".....the next time we see each other we'll talk about your mother" XDDD
When you see the angry mob gleeing for the head of Eddard Stark, it makes you feel less sympathy for them when Drogon torched King’s Landing. I really don’t count anything after Season 6 as being canon but there are some moments subsequent to the ending seasons.
Ned Stark meets the Guy Who fight his brother for his actual wife Catelyn
Ned: yeah i totally trust this Guy except the bald one Who didnt want to kill Daenerys from all the council
👍
nice vid can you make one for season 2?
Sure, a compilation of Ned's scenes in s2 won't take long at all **snicker**
GoT has two main parts. Before Ned Stark’s death and after it. Sean Bean was the best of the series.
9:06 why do I find this part hilarious 😂 I will??
Here's your like, melt it with the others!
" you don't choose well"
I want a Robert's Rebellion adaption.
Ned was an honourable fool as Robert said
I never understood cat, like she knew ned for what a day before he left for war. Before that she was creaming for his brother her actual betrothed . And then there's the theory of Robb actually not being neds son
You forgot the scene with him and Jamie at the feast
Now do all his Season 2 scenes...:(
Damfk!they should use Ned Stark till the end
That first scene, forshadowing? Like how when Tywin was skinning the stag. Here we have a stag killing a wolf, right before Robert shows up and dooms them all.
:28 Sean Bean paying homage to Sharpe.
you think it's honor that leads me to Kings Landing Cat? It's fear and bluud.
MAJOR SHARPE
When's all his season 2 showing coming out ?
Lol Well there ain’t that many..
You missed the "You will feed them yourselves, you will train them yourselves, and you will bury them yourselves" scene with the direwolves.
Make video of him in other season.. oh wait
I'm new to the Game of Thrones, can I see all Ned Stark season 2 scenes please?
5:40 nahhhhhh im tearing up
This video is missing some scenes. Perhaps, most importantly, Ned's conversation with Arya.
I gotta hand it to Sean Bean specifically for the last conversation with Jon, the way he forced his mouth shut before turning to face him and almost breaking at 5:48, basically begging Jon to let go
This isn't all of Ned's scenes. Where is the beheading of the Night's Watch deserter from the prologue? And only, what three seconds of the stag scene?
Look man he included what he can, it's more than enough to get your fix
The people over HBO just needs to watch this clip this is what the people are craving for a character strong as is eddard Stark and Jon Snow that's why the series was so popular it hasn't been too many characters with that quality so get off your ass and make the Jon Snow story
You missed the deserter from the nights watch scene??? Brruuhhhhh
You didn’t even have to mention season one in the title🤦🏻♀️
I guess ol Ned will never be "a head" of the game.......
