The suicide mission in ME2 is honestly one of the best video game moment I have ever experienced.
DarkAntem I was completely in awe when I first played the game, since it actually made me secondguess myself and my decisions, first ME I ever played.
For me the most epic moment was the conversation you have with Sovereign on Virmire in ME 1. When it tells you about inconsequentiality of organic life, god damn it I get goose bumps just by thinking about it.

I love this saga, i'm emotionally atached. I played It trough all My adolescence. Played 1 when I was like 12, 2 when I Was 15 and 3 when I was 18. And replayed the trilogy two times. It gives You so much emotions. You see moments of loyalty, of break ups, reconciliations, reunions with old Friends, love, good laughs,epicness, courage. This Game has It all. My favourite saga ever.

There's something about this games' music that makes my adrenaline race every time.
Specifically "Victory" from Mass 1
You should have included the Fall of Thessia. That was extremely epic. Tragic but epic. Especially with Kaiden's dialogue "there's a lot of moments in my life that I wish I could forget. The first life I saw taken, the first life I had to take, and now this." which was perfectly placed.
The ME2 intro is tops for me. I re-watch it periodically and it's great, every time. It transitions ME1 players into ME2 with an absolute bang. You can even tell how the game's reality and style change after Shepard falls into the darkness of the planet's orbit. It not only set the tone for the rest of ME2, but for the rest of the series.
The ME3 opening is also great, as was opening sequence of the final battle. Just a great series in general though.
I remember having to catch my breathe after the omega 4 relay cutscene. The suicide mission imo I consider to be the best end mission of any game I’ve ever played.
Oh yes, so agree. Although the final part of The Last Wish raid in Destiny 2 comes close to epicness of the Long Walk.
The most satisfying moment in all four Mass Effect games for me is the moment you use the Thanix Cannon on the Collector Ship. Joker says what I think/feel.

Watching this in late October 2019. The intro to the game still gives me shudders and my memories from the story are as still as vivid and fond as ever. This doesn't feel like a game I played; it feels like a life experience I lived through and survived to tell my story. Such a masterpiece...

Ivan Pardo Yeah... I am much older than you, I've played lots of computer games but in my formative years the best games we got were the Sierra quests, so I imagine for you all of the experience must be even stronger.
I played ME1 when I was about 30. It was almost an accident, for whatever reason I wasn't aware of it and picked it up at a deep discount and out of sheer curiosity, thinking it was some sort of dumb 3rd person shooter :))))
To this day I distinctly remember the moment ME changed me forever. It was the scene where I was forced to choose which one between Elenko and Williams should live. This moment somehow... broke me, I never imagined until then that a computer game would force me into making a hard, incorrigible choice. I didn't sleep well at all that night!
But I think the game taught me my lesson well, because during my first run of ME2 I somehow managed to go through the whole Omega 4 mission without losing anybody. By that time, I wasn't taking anything for granted, I tried to know my crew as best I could... and it paid off! Boy was I proud with myself.
@@drkskwlkr Yes that Kaiden/ashley choice leaves You with nightmares, it's amazing what a great game like this can make you feel. And for how You started with the series it's a great coincidence. I was fooling around in the PC store, Had few money and found this game in the cheap part. I choose It because it had aliens and action. I even thought not to play it and thinking it would be crap until I found Ashley in the first mission. What a great choice it was to not abandon It. Now I love this series and i'm SO grateful

Aside from the way Casey Hudson fucked over the story arc going from the end of ME2 (dark matter) into ME3 (starchild bullshit), these 3 games.... for me... are just the greatest games I've ever played. So much time spent in all 3, and the way you make emotional connections to characters in a way that isn't done in any other series in my opinion.
There are no other games for me that I fire up and create new characters on and just get lost in the trilogy all over again.
Bioware has stumbled a bit over the years (lol dragon age 2) but overall, I think they make some of the best games...

Nihilus I agree entirely. I've only ever played Mass Effect 2 and 3 but they are the best games I've ever played. I've never cared for and felt so connected to characters before in my life. Just ... Unbelievable job on Biowares part.

After all these years, this warp-into-Omega-IV-and-nearly-crashed-head-on-100-times-light-speed-into-an-enormous-debris part still gives me the jumps. ME2 really did good with the second installment.
Plus, that war-drum-and-tuba instrumental score was really rhythmic, and uplifting.
And, gee, despite how small bunch of energy the Mass Relays SEEM to have, they pack one big, giant, huge, enormous heck of a punch when destroyed! Testament to how we should NEVER judge ANYTHING by their size.
Love what you did at the part where Shepard remembers the characters when shooting the reactor in ME3!
My only complaint with Mass Effect 3 was the squad members. I wish we can assemble our own team from all the casts in 1 and 2.
The intro to ME2 was masterful. That was the first one I played and I was hooked instantly.
When harbinger says at the end "you have fail me, releasing this form" I was really surprise I really wans't expecting that. I had a feeling he was behind them, but I wasn't aware he was Controlling them

The scene where the Reaper appears at the citadel in ME1 gives me goosebumps all because of the music over a game released in 2007. GODDAMN!!!

Beginning in ME2 is always in my memories. It was painfull and at the same time exciting cutscene. From the first minutes ME2 got my hearth :D I more prefere this part than 1 and 3.
Every Second in the series is an epic moment.
No first talk between Shepard and the crew with Sovereign? That moment certainly was epic. His voice is perhaps my favorite synthesized robot voice ever.

I've noticed some people are upset that ME "4" may not have some of our favorite characters. I totally understand them. I love many of the characters myself: Anderson, (my) Shepard, Adm. Hackett, Tali, The Illusive Man, Liara, Wrex, just to name a few... But it wouldn't hurt to fall in love with new characters, to build a relationship with them. Even though nothing new is out about the next installment, I am excited and can't wait!
I'm sorry I have to say this but the lack of Sovereign speech from ME1 brutally kills the whole video.

The programmers did a very awesome job, but Shepard can't die. EDI can't die. Shepard can't be the one who is controlling the Reapers. Earlyer or later, he will end up like the Reapers: Thinking the organic life has to leave.
I just can't agree with that story. ME ending: Very epic, dramatic and heroic/badass. ME2 ending: Very epic and great teamwork of Shepard's crew/dramatic dying scenes of the crew members. ME3 ending: Very epic leaving of the Normandy, beautiful shockwaves in the galaxy, celebrating allies... But where is Shepard? Dead? Missed? Awake from a beginning indoctrination? Still alive? No matter what you pick, the ending is not absolutely bad and not absolutely good. It is a bit open. You could make another game! The Illusive Man isn't dead, there is any other or still an known enemy, the planets and the citadel and the portals have to be rebuilt.... But nothing?
The Mass Effect universe can't be gone like this. It's like you give a Varren a cup of blood. It will want more. And Bioware fed very much Mass Effect players.

Well, according to your play through. In mine, Shepard lives, saves the galaxy, Illusive Man blows his own head off, and every reaper is dead. Win.

Control, Synthesis, Destroying.
*[Spoiler]* If you pick to destroy the Reapers, the Catalyst will tell you that the Geth will die, too. Every synthetic will die. So will EDI.
At Synthesis she will be like an real living organic. She is organic, with a body of metal.
Control: She is not dead, but she is not living, too. She is still synthetic.
The Illusive Man is dead! He either kills himself or Shepard kills him when he wants to kill Anderson. Depends on how you play - every organic and synthetic life can be totally wiped out with one decision! Control ending is making Shepard as a god, so to speak. His body is dead but not his memories. He is concious of what is happening, he controls the Reapers so he can use them as he wants to. The trilogy is over! Even if Shepard survives - repairing the relays will take time, Shepard will be older. There is also no more potential threat in the universe. Extended Cut shows how quarians rebuild their homeworld, how Krogans live without genophage and so on. There is much more ways of ending than just picking a color of explosion. And indroctination theory is fake - BioWare confirmed that, although they were amazed by how people connected the facts to create this theory.

For me, Mass Effect Trilogy was a world or dimension to join in free time. One explosion - no matter what color - and it's all over. I know, the Quarian and Krogan peoples are rebuilding their homes and cultures, but they don't show, how. They don't tell what is happening. Not really.
I haven't read the creator's comments, but I miss playing the game without knowing what will happen - and don't know that there's nothing more that will happen. They show some pictures, tell that something is happening, but they cut Shepard - us - off the story. They show us one thing with the endings:
Shepard is dead.
Mass Effect is dead.
That's my opinion. *And I miss being alive with my crew by my site. Shepard out.*

Even though I love Mass Effect, I don't think it would make a good movie since it's very focused on characterization by player's choice. How would film Shepard be like? Is he a man? Woman? Soldier? Adept? Paragon? Renegade?. Whatever you pick, you are going to annoy the players that chose a different path.

The first time I played it I thought I had done something really wrong that caused Shep's death, especially when the title came up on screen afterwards. Very dramatic opening and very well done.

There are so many games where the cut-scenes can be pieced together to tell the entire story, with game play just being filler, but what I love so much about Mass Effect is that the cut scenes enhance game play, with much of the story actually fulfilled by game play. For my non-gaming friends, they just cannot "get" how great this series is by watching cut scenes. I have not found another game like it.
