That does look fun! The bowl certainly "turned" out nice! 😁At times like these we need to crack ourselves up with humor or else we'll crack under the stress. Good show!
Most of my tools were gotten for practical purposes but the wood lathe was gotten for Fun & Relaxation, although there are many practical things you can make as well. I fully understand the people that don't want to spend $200 on an air filter but most can afford a $20 dollar box fan with a $1 dollar fiberglass filter for the pre-filter and a $5 pleated for the fine filter........"Perfect is the enemy of good." BTW I went to the Grocery Store a couple nights ago, there's usually only a few people in there late at night. I pull up and the lot was fairly full, couldn't figure what was going on until I realized the lunatics were there picking the shelves clean.
Another nice video. I certainly hope that it doesn't come to needing to protect yourself. The VC used Booby traps that were very effective 50 years ago. Many didn't even use explosives and they work 24/7. I have had a cheap wood lathe for about 40 years. Last summer I was at our transfer station, a guy came in with a bunch of power tools in the back of his truck. He was going to throw them in the scrap metal. I got a nice Power Craft 48" bed lathe and a craftsman 10" radial arm saw. I didn't want the tablesaw. Lathes are a lot of fun. Good Luck, Rick
