This game was extremely ahead of it's time for sure - the soundtrack was fantastic, the enemy AI was decent, the unit rank ups, and design ended up being a staple of future RTS games. What a classic.
That's what i think too! I also thougt it had some of the Supreme commander 1 features already. Range circles would have been so useful in warzone 2100. But i love LOVE the custom unit creation. Which games else do have this? I dont know of any? Loved cyborg units allthough they were weak ans died too fast. Loved vtols. Loved the python tier3 rump. Loved destroying scavenger bases.
I listen this every night, and at work. It gives me the feeling of being in a post nuclear war world in the far future where ecerything has deteriorated. Wearing a hoodie gives me such stalker and Fallout and Interstellar Vibes. I really like the slight sadness in the first track. Its like it's mourning over the world. Then the second (for me) is struggle, surviving, fighting, enduring...and then the final track sound like pure hope! Its like the new dawn of men, after all this and the believing in humanities progress comes back. You have no idea what masterpiece you composed.
I played this when I was 12. Pure addicted. PS1. Cant believe PS1 had a RTS gem like this. I played it on hard. The next area you move from your main base where you can develope planes was such a Awesome challenge. The remenising on that thought is pure gold. Awesome game
Yes, ares106, very good indeed - what equipment is this? Where the hell did they get these sounds from? - but for me the kicks come at 03:45: pad sounds, big drums, hypnotic beats. Not getting weepy but I'm pretty close to saying the best game soundtrack ever, defo among the best tracks ever. 0-100 in 0 sec. Still, around 20 years after playing it on PS1 until the disc bleed data, the music kicks straight away. Hasn't aged a single day, a single minute.
@@fckhd6877 I played game again after 15 yes since I last played but I didn't enjoy it as much because I figured all I had to do was attach everything to my radar unit and everything just got obliterated. No challenge even on hard
my family had an electronics store in the late 90s/early00s, I wanted this game but they wouldnt take product off the shelf for me, so they ended up making a bootleg copy of it for me and I never remembered it having music. it wasn't until it became freeware that I heard any music on it.
gabagris free download under wz2100.net/ the game is playable under Windows 7 and Windows 8, after install maybe you need to right mouse-click and execute the file warzone2100.exe with open as admin ...

A moment of silence for all those VTOLs that never came back to your base.😢

Pumpkin Studios, you were awesome! Know it!
Yep. Basically, it was their first and last game......
took many years to find this game
That ambience is a bop
Currently replaying the game as its an open source now.
Я хз кто писал музыку, но это пиздец. Воплощение постапокалипсиса. Когда играл, охреневал от безысходности. Либо ностальгия , либо реально шедевр
аналогично
Martin Severn писал, и да, это шедевр)
if aphex twin had made a soundtrack for a game this would be it
this game was really awesome great memories
Must see if i can find the track that we never had space for on the disc.. give me a few weeks i'll see if i can find it
Did you ever find it? Or, if not, is it on here?

I couldn't agree more with @@sethbettwieser. He speaks the truth.
Let's be honest here. This game is still not beaten by modern RTS games in several area's.
Currently on a play through of this as well as newly released Pull Stay lol, complete opposite types of games!
