Just ordered. I agree that it's just about perfect for an all-around travel rod. It's disappointing that St. Croix doesn't provide a hard case or mini tube.
I broke my 2 piece rod and only had to send in a picture of the brake. They replaced it with no issue. But after seeing this review my faith in ST Criox is waning. The Customer service is great but the quality of the rod is now now in question.
Same! My groomsmen got me a st. Croix for my wedding present, and it snapped on a stingray right at shore. I was so angry at myself. My travel case is a 4 compartment harder "tube", though. Sweet rods!
Thanks I was heading up to Minnesota on United airline and it would’ve cost me 90 bucks to ship my fishing rod round-trip so I think I’m just going with this rod…..a few hours later and I got it for a $100 with a hard case at this place that look like bargain basement center for guns and fishing gear. Nice pole but a little stiff. The action isn’t as good as my other poles but I bet the casing distant is greater. They’re always trade-offs.I think I would of gotten a lighter St.Croix but this was the only one he had. The important factor is it’s portability. Thanks for your advice.
I was fishing Newport bay with my sage fly rod and a police boat came ripping through and sucked up my fly line, near spooling me before the rod snapped. it was a $50 mail in replacement. they said they never heard of catching a boat but I got a new piece
That's a wicked story man. Bet they had fun getting that out of their prop! Sounds like your line was too heavy for the rod though - might want to consider downgrading line to a 5-10 lb test less. Thanks for sharing!
St c. Travel casting 4pcs broken my heart its broken but the tip is useful yet 💔 but i buy the ugly stik spinning 4pcs 6 foot 6 i modify with a casting with tip of st c. And im happy 😊 now
This is a good review, thanks for running it down for us.I have an Okuma Citrix 4 piece casting rod, and I have really enjoyed it. I broke the tip of the top piece (totally my fault), but Okuma was great about sending a replacement section, although I had to pay a fee. Here's my review. th-cam.com/video/WuZDNlAv_RI/w-d-xo.html

The idea of the two reels is a clever one I will try the next time I head out!

Crazy that we both did the same thing. I was angry with myself as well.
But not sweet enough

I’m going to Canada for lake finishing. You stuck with the medium rod. Can I get by with medium going to Canada for pike.
The St Croix 5 year warranty is no joke!
Which model of this St Croix would you recommend for fishing Snook and Redfish?
Can you tell me what's the strongest and most durable telescopic rod I can buy? Thanks
Hey Alex, great video! What reel, line, bait do you recommend using with this rod?

Make more videos man!
Been a rough winter for video making for me. I'll be getting back to it now that the fishing is back in swing.
Angling With Alex understandable. I’m looking forward to watching the videos!
You can buy 3-4 rods for same price and don’t spend time and nerves on ping pong with support.
Good point
Awesome video! Just subscribed! I do fishing on my channel too!

Did you break one? How did it happen? Every video I've seen of a St. Croix breaking has been user error.
@@TheFishingNomad can you tell me the most strongest durable fishing telescopic rod? I'm an amateur. Thanks
