Suggestion for the makeup you didn't like. Donate it to a women's shelter or transitional living center. They are always in need of things to help women feel better about themselves especially those who are in the process of rebuilding their lives. It would still get used and bless someone else at the same time. Just a thought because they do those type of drives for donations where I live.
I may be recalling someone else, but I believe Tati actually does donate items to a Women's shelter, as, I believe, she stated in many Makeup Graveyard videos.
Yes, I saw that one after posting the comment. I am new to her channel and just wanted to share an experience that I am a part of locally. It's a great thing to do. I have been there when the ladies here were blessed with the baskets. It's amazing to see them light up after giving them something that makes them feel special.
It's funny, but I hope she does list - I've been in a store, trying to remember which item of a hit/miss line was one she liked or didn't; and lists vs. having to watch is a thing.

I don't understand the stigma about having regretful purchases. I'd rather be warded away from spending my hard-earned cash on something with negative reviews than spend my money on something with no reviews because everyone thought it was terrible but didn't want to say it.
I personally like videos like this because there's always SOMEONE who likes a product even if a lot of people don't so if you search a review you'll most likely find a positive one whereas these videos give more insight. Also people just don't talk about products they didn't like a lot so it's hard to know what's really worth buying! Great video Tati

For the first product (Laura geller) since the eye shadows are baked, to get more intensity and pigmentation dampen your brush and then use the shadows. Also, when the shadows are being made they are actually set outside in the sun which is why they are called baked... this pulls out all the moisture and leaves behind all the minerals while also giving that domed look. I would definitely give this pallet another try by dampening the brush. It may change your mind
I love your videos... But DONATE DONATE DONATE instead of dumping them in the trash... There's women out there with nothing. Why not sanitizing them (like makeup artist do) and donating some to a women's shelter or an organization that help women get ready for interviews. The beauty of makeup is that sometimes what didn't work for you might work for someone else, specially if they have nothing. And maybe then share with us how to donate our gently used (or new) makeup. Just saying :-)
+babycoqui I've looked into donating gently used makeup myself but I couldn't find a single women's shelter or organization that accepts opened & sanitized products :( Maybe it is the same in her area. I would donate SO MUCH if I could but I guess it is too much of a liability and safety issue

I fine that these are so helpful because we are able to cross things off of our lists, and narrow down future purchases. for example, you could show me 10 of your fave pallets and I'd still get something else, but I will never but a crap product lol

If you want good quality palettes for a good price, go bh cosmetics. You've probably heard of them unless you live under a rock but their shadows are incredible

Hey Tati I have some Laura geller eyeshadows and I love them, because I actually use them with Mac fix plus or even some water, and they instantly become so foiled and gorgeous. Maybe give it another try using this method. 😊
+Julie Camille baked eye shadows are made to be used wet. That would probably help with a lot of the issues she mentioned. Not everyone enjoys wet application though :]

I'm not sure if you've done a series like this before but you could do bad products from the drugstore and each video could be on a different type of make up product (like mascara for one, eye liner for another, etc).

I've read reviews on Ulta's website of those eye shadow palettes - so far, it's all negative. It's a shame; would've been nice to have a pretty and affordable product, if only it worked.

just a PSA for the laura geller palette.. baked eyeshadows and other makeup products are intended to be used with a wet brush. the color turnout is way better and it's basically like putting paint on your face, it won't move an inch

baked eyeshadows aren't designed specifically to be used wet. they (just like all eyeshadows) work brilliantly wet, but it's not something that needs to be done, it should work beautifully both wet and dry x
I found this video helpful because It saves us time and money. It is also informative because you explain precisely why the product is not good along with your expectations for that particular product. You are fair in your criticisms because you balance them with positive alternatives (vs. just hating on an entire brand).
When you said you were the makeup investigator it made me think of Inspector Gadget. "Inspector Tati"... with makeup brushes coming out of your stretchy arms and a trench full of palettes. Oh yeah.
I agree with the Geller palette. I bought the cool toned one (thankfully cheaply at winners) and I don't have the time to get the colours on my eyes. I could feel myself age as I tried to build up those shadows!
Betty Brown if you look closely, some shadows where patchy or needed build up to show color, plus the powdery thing she said. Not surprised, someone told me that Too Faced is not consistent with their products and you can get a good palette or a crappy one.

I thought that too, but if you pause on the swatch, 5 of the colors looked exactly the same. also I've def experienced a shadow swatching beautifully and not wearing well at all. difficult to blend, muddy, no wear time, cakey looking, etc.

+Lydia Gleason with the swatches, she probably tries to pick up as much of the product as possible to show us a true color swatch. she mentions that a lot of them aren't very pigmented. if they're not pigmented, you can't just run your finger over it 2-3 times and get a good payoff.

+Dani p I did my research and actually found a video she filmed right before this one, and she shared the name of the polish in it! :D It was from an H&M haul video, so the nail polish was h&m brand, I forget what it was called though, i'll go check and post it. Although, when I searched for the nail polish online, I couldn't find it anywhere. :/

love these types of videos because it always serves as a warning when i want to invest money on one really good palette. wouldnt want to waste my money on something not worth buying. You should make more of these types of videos maybe one for lipstick?,

just a PSA for the laura geller palette.. baked eyeshadows and other makeup products are intended to be used with a wet brush. the color turnout is way better and it's basically like putting paint on your face, it won't move an inch

baked eyeshadows aren't designed specifically to be used wet. they (just like all eyeshadows) work brilliantly wet, but it's not something that needs to be done, it should work beautifully both wet and dry x

I found this video helpful because It saves us time and money. It is also informative because you explain precisely why the product is not good along with your expectations for that particular product. You are fair in your criticisms because you balance them with positive alternatives (vs. just hating on an entire brand).

Normally but she was commenting more on the design(marble shape) and fallout which is still hard to fix with fix+(no pun intended).
When you said you were the makeup investigator it made me think of Inspector Gadget. "Inspector Tati"... with makeup brushes coming out of your stretchy arms and a trench full of palettes. Oh yeah.

I agree with the Geller palette. I bought the cool toned one (thankfully cheaply at winners) and I don't have the time to get the colours on my eyes. I could feel myself age as I tried to build up those shadows!

Betty Brown if you look closely, some shadows where patchy or needed build up to show color, plus the powdery thing she said. Not surprised, someone told me that Too Faced is not consistent with their products and you can get a good palette or a crappy one.

I thought that too, but if you pause on the swatch, 5 of the colors looked exactly the same. also I've def experienced a shadow swatching beautifully and not wearing well at all. difficult to blend, muddy, no wear time, cakey looking, etc.

I use a primer with them and they last all day. not the best pigmentation but if youre in a budget it works. I got the nude ones

with the swatches, she probably tries to pick up as much of the product as possible to show us a true color swatch.
she mentions that a lot of them aren't very pigmented. if they're not pigmented, you can't just run your finger over it 2-3 times and get a good payoff.
