    You should do a "drugstore skincare" or "under $20". The stuff you have is really awesome, but it would be interesting to see what you like for people who cant afford that. You should also go over the steps in your routine in more detail. How do you use all of these!?

    Hi Tati- One thing I would like to point out is that the "Clean" section in Sephora is basically placebo. The Tatcha water cream still has dimethicone in it, caused lots of pore blockage for me- and after researching it more, it never sinks into the skin. It simply sits there until you wash it off and then it goes into the water system and never breaks down. These products are touted as clean and expensive, but there are much better, simpler products to be found!

    • @ellamierrose1812
      @ellamierrose1812 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Have you heard of Forever Chemicals?? That freaked me out! Especially when I found out I had been using a product that contains such compounds. If you haven't heard of it Aliceintherabbithole has a good video about Forever Chemicals on her channel.

    • @allthingstealee
      @allthingstealee 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Clean section is sephora is not just placebo lol. Maybe for some but it just means it doesn’t have certain ingredients (they have a long list) and those ingredients that they don’t have might be problematic for some or a lot of people. For me personally, with skincare I get clean at sephora because I don’t want fragrance, mineral oil (pore clogging), or sls (allergic reaction). Also silicones (like dimethicone) aren’t inherently bad, a lot of people do just fine with them (but not speaking on how it affects the earth because I don’t know anything about that), and also makeup doesn’t sink into your skin until you wash it off 🤷‍♀️

    • @Persnicketychichi
      @Persnicketychichi 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@allthingstealee Yes, makeup washes off as well. But we are talking about skincare here. I found multiple gross ingredients in their "clean" section, including titanium dioxide, which if you research it, it is a carcinogenic, and the effects of it on the skin has been questioned greatly. But my main issue is the dimethicone. It's garbage.

    • @Persnicketychichi
      @Persnicketychichi 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@godcomplex I'm still searching for my perfect skin care, but so far I'm relying on Pacifica face wash and moisturizer. I find exfoliating with a gentle washcloth once a week is about all I need. I also started adding trace minerals to my water and drinking bone broth

    • @maylipkind
      @maylipkind 3 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      @@Persnicketychichi your information is wrong, titanium dioxide is not bad for skin. It may be dangerous when inhaled though. So if you work with spray paints (and many of them contain this ingredient), you should wear a mask. Do your research before you confuse people, really.

    Even just wearing SPF every day will decrease signs of aging and help heal hyperpigmentation. If you partner SPF with sun protective behaviors, like wearing a broad-brimmed hat and other sun protective clothing, you will see results even faster.

    • @jupiterisaak1004

      What level of SPF should we use? Does a spray sun tan lotion over make up still work as well?

      @@jupiterisaak1004 Dermatologists recommend people wear at least SPF 30 applied liberally. I try to use SPF 60 or as close to it as I can manage out of an abundance of caution :)
      For your second question, I am not sure if I am understanding right. If you're asking if using other products on your face like makeup and lotions will work similarly to sunscreen then no, unfortunately. While something like makeup can create a physical barrier on the skin that may protect your skin from the UVB rays that cause burns, makeup and other non-SPF products will not block the UVA rays that cause your skin to age prematurely. Your best bet is to buy a sunscreen labeled as "broad spectrum" to both prevent burning and photo-aging

    Using acids without putting on SPF every day will actually increase your hyperpigmentation... You should maybe try mineral sunscreen if you are sensitive to chemical ones. It's the most important part of a skin care routine and without it everything else is a waste of money.

    I'm currently recovering from surgery that I had for endometriosis, and I noticed that my skin is looking a lot better. I'm no longer bloated and I'm finding that my skin is now loving oil-based skincare way more than it used to be. I'm loving Phytosurgence, which is indie skincare and makeup company from Vancouver BC. They're so lovely and ethically sourced/created and their skincare is affordable, and giving me the skin I have longed for years.

    I love my Korean skin care brands because they're usually cheaper (often talking drug-store prices! and there are often sales) than American/European brands and they work better in my opinion! I also have fairly sensitive skin, and I love most lines that use artemisia (calming with redness reduction) and/or centella asiatica. I've struggled a lot with adult acne, and using a lot of harsh ingredients never worked. Ever since I switched to using mainly calming ingredients, I rarely get breakouts.

If used at nigh time whether it is a few nights a week or even every night it will help prevent future breakouts, blackheads, and close comedones around the nose and chin area. It is also excellent at treating hyper pigmentation. Using it as a spot treatment is only not recommended but it also won't do anything to your skin. :)

    Tati, please be very careful about all these "clean" remarks as "clean" means different things for different brands, it is not a regulated term. Yes, it may be useful for those who need to avoid certain ingredients, but a product being "clean" doesn't actually mean anything. It is better to state what ingredients is not formulated with that call it "clean".
    EDIT: also I suspected you didn't use a sunscreen because you've mentioned plenty of times you tend to react badly to some of them, but please take your time and start looking for one ESPECIALLY if you're using differin gel and exfoliating on the regular. I'm almost 32 and I've been using the Kiehl's midnight recovery eye cream for about 3 years now (I use the tiniest amount at night so a tube lasts me like 8-9months). It helps with dark circles etc. My eyes look better now than they did at 25 lol I won't switch out til it stops working for me!

    Hey there! Tati you're great but with any amount of exfoliation SPF is your bff, it is vital. If you exfoliate and don't use spf you will make your hyperpigmentation and lines wayyy worst! Not to mention you'll be more at risk for skin cancer

      I'm pretty sure this is only with chemical exfoliants - physical ones shouldn't require special SPF measures.

      @@ashleyreese210 do you know that humanity has invented mineral sunscreen for people sensitive to chemical?

    For me, the eye creams I’ve tried (and I’ve tried a lot) that actually did something are the origins ginzing eye cream, glow recipe retinol sleeping eye mask, and the bliss eye do all things!

    I’m in my 50’s, and I’ve tried high end, low end, and in between, and the eye cream that I’ve used that I’ve had the most noticeable difference is Olay Retinol 24, I’ve used the original and max. Akar eye oil is really good too, but it’s expensive, a little goes a long way though.

    I'm 36 and the Fresh eye cream is the best. I've tried so many. The creaminess if it is moisturizing and and not dry so makes my undereye makeup not crease. Stick with it. I've wasted so much money on eye creams and that's the one I kept going back to.

    Also, this is the most timely video for wearing a mask again to work.

    In my 40s here, and cosrx snail line is my salvation. The eye cream is really nice. Also love the propolis line. They have a lot of starter kits, too, so you don't have to invest a bunch of money trying something out.

      I love CosRX too!! I'm 36 and my skin looks so much better since changing to predominantly K-Beauty skincare. The K-Beauty products are more hydrating and target specific things in my mind

    You should look into a Dyson cooling fan for your recording studio room. It’s silent and the airflow is perfect. 😁 It’s pricey, but worth it.

    The no7 face and neck cream (the pink one) is my absolute favorite. This actually works almost immediately to hydrate the neck if not like 2 applications and it smells great too. I also use their line eraser serum. I just get it from Walmart!
