If he would have released a "happy" palette I'm sure the same people saying this was offense would be the ones saying why is he releasing a happy colorful palette during tough times. I lost my father, who I was close to, a little over a year ago. My kid's father was killed in a car accident, and he was cremated. This palette release does not offend me AT ALL. Death happens: it's life shattering, but it happens, and we are all affected somehow. I'm also a dark person who loves gothic style...so I dig the crap out of this palette.

Fine art student here: there are two types of grey, monochromatic grey and chromatic grey. Monochromatic is when you only use black and white to mix the grey but chromatic is when you use complimentary colours, eg red and green, and mix in with different amounts of other primary colours including black and white to get a grey. Or another method is adding one colour to black until its light enough to be a grey mix. That's why there's so much dimension in grey

The Official Andy Saenz I’m hoping for a neutral palette actually. Jeffree puts some neutrals in his other palettes to make it wearable for the everyday people and that also gives them an option to play with colour, so you can get the best of both worlds. But I really want a full neutrals palettes

This palette is not goth...a goth palette deserve deep red, green, blues and different types of black. This is something i would wear in the early morning as a soft look. The packaging is not goth at all, it is so glamorous... Anyway as a makeup artist i'm intrigued by this palette
Is it really surprising? Thats what color depth is - a range from white to black. That why it's called the gray scale - because the scale that measures depth/dimension utilizes shades of gray.

Jeffree didn’t have any time to fit this collection anywhere else in the year. He wanted to please his customers and even Nikkie said Jeffree showed her his palette a long time ago..
Apparently this is also dedicated to his family he lost last year such as his dogs and grandfather. Those deaths hit him the hardest so i feel as this collection represents how he feels.
It just goes to show that a lot of our modern language is based around 'death'. "You're killing it", "it slayed me", "I almost died it was so funny" and "knock 'em dead" are everyday examples that most people use in one way or another but nobody screams 'you're tone deaf' at them. Weird huh? 🤔

I get that people have lost family members and friends, but this palette isn’t that offensive. He made it before this was even a thing, produced all the packaging and shades, and then the virus arrived. As Nikkie said in the video, it takes months to produce makeup, and we’ll probably be dealing with the aftermath of this virus for years. EDIT: A few of Y’all have brought out good points. I recognize people have to be cremated but people will always have to be cremated. As in the Shane Dawson video, makeup takes months to produce, package and market to audiences. The product wouldn’t have had the same level of quality that we have grown to expect from Jeffree if he had changed his palette name.
You say it with a concerning level of detachment and casualness...like people have had to be cremated instead of having a proper funeral because of fears of spreading the disease. Honestly he’s so rich he could have changed it or waited but the controversy gave him visibility.

He would have to postpone until fall of 2021, and remake all pallets because old makeup and not safe for consumers, also it will take years for this entire situation to go away, next, it takes months to recreate the packaging, even longer during a pandemic when factories are close. Although im not his biggest fan, you have to look at the situation from a business standpoint as well as a consumer standpoint.
as someone whose lost a loved one who was cremated i really couldn't care less about the name of the palette. Its beautiful and the colors are stunning. I love jeffrees palettes and his other makeup. I personally love death themed things and collect alot of stuff with that theme.

Honestly, I love Jeffree’s formula, and cool tones are my jams, so this is right up my ally. I get where people are saying it’s tone deaf, but as a business owner, I get that he can’t wait until it’s a better time to release the collection.
The product was already in production before the pandemic. If he waited until this was "over", which will take at least a couple of years, his entire stock would be expired.
Abdul Williams he had other stuff coming out and he wouldn’t have had any other time to release it. he would’ve had to release it in the fall of ‘21. if that were the case all the makeup would’ve expired.
For the non artist fellas over here, black is a color that in theory is made by mixing equal parts of blue and brown. Since gray is black and white, depending on how the black is made (the ratio between blue and brown can vary) and the gray tone becomes way different. For instance there’s noticeably more cool toned grays and more warm toned grays. The first one comes from a black that has slightly more blue and the second from a black that has slightly more brown. U can notice this too in straight up black, but it isnt as easy. Thats why theres such a bug range of grays. Once u start noticing all the different tones of grays on ur day to day ur whole perspective of the color changes a lot!
When I saw the palette I didn’t even think anything about how sensitive the topic of cremation was in this pandemic. You don’t need to take things so personally.

Nikkie, there’s already a shade called “deceased” in the Blue Blood palette. So that’s why he called this palette Cremated. I feel like Cremated is the sequel to Blue Blood.
Blue Blood was also shaped like a coffin (at least the top was). Also the promos pics for that collection had him in a casket. I get how it can come off insensitive, but makeup production takes a long time. Once everything is good to go and it gets to the distribution center the clock starts ticking. All makeup has an expiration date 😐.
While I was watching I thought of an idea. Some beginners in makeup are scared to do certain things with makeup. So I was thinking a video "facing your makeup fears" would be so nice in the community. I don't know if this has ever been done. Where you can show how to blend and that its ok to go bright or dark with colors and respond to peoples makeup fears from your audience and help them figure out how to do it better. Give them direct advice that they ask about. 💕

We also have consider that that person affect may have lost some recently due to the virus and seeing this probably makes them feel worse. I've been extremely sick for a month with covid. I ordered it & just received it . Somebody always has to cause unnecessary drama & people get offended over nothing now a days. Fact is- It's amazing & I love it!!!
I lost my father, who I was close to, a little over a year ago. My kid's father was killed in a car accident, and he was cremated. This palette release does not offend me AT ALL. Death happens: it's life shattering, but it happens, and we are all affected somehow. I'm also a dark person who loves gothic style...so I dig the crap out of this palette.

Fine art student here: there are two types of grey, monochromatic grey and chromatic grey. Monochromatic is when you only use black and white to mix the grey but chromatic is when you use complimentary colours, eg red and green, and mix in with different amounts of other primary colours including black and white to get a grey. Or another method is adding one colour to black until its light enough to be a grey mix. That's why there's so much dimension in grey

The Official Andy Saenz I’m hoping for a neutral palette actually. Jeffree puts some neutrals in his other palettes to make it wearable for the everyday people and that also gives them an option to play with colour, so you can get the best of both worlds. But I really want a full neutrals palettes

I get that people have lost family members and friends, but this palette isn’t that offensive. He made it before this was even a thing, produced all the packaging and shades, and then the virus arrived. As Nikkie said in the video, it takes months to produce makeup, and we’ll probably be dealing with the aftermath of this virus for years.
EDIT: A few of Y’all have brought out good points. I recognize people have to be cremated but people will always have to be cremated. As in the Shane Dawson video, makeup takes months to produce, package and market to audiences. The product wouldn’t have had the same level of quality that we have grown to expect from Jeffree if he had changed his palette name.

He would have to postpone until fall of 2021, and remake all pallets because old makeup and not safe for consumers, also it will take years for this entire situation to go away, next, it takes months to recreate the packaging, even longer during a pandemic when factories are close. Although im not his biggest fan, you have to look at the situation from a business standpoint as well as a consumer standpoint.

as someone whose lost a loved one who was cremated i really couldn't care less about the name of the palette. Its beautiful and the colors are stunning. I love jeffrees palettes and his other makeup. I personally love death themed things and collect alot of stuff with that theme.

Honestly, I love Jeffree’s formula, and cool tones are my jams, so this is right up my ally. I get where people are saying it’s tone deaf, but as a business owner, I get that he can’t wait until it’s a better time to release the collection.

The product was already in production before the pandemic. If he waited until this was "over", which will take at least a couple of years, his entire stock would be expired.
Abdul Williams he had other stuff coming out and he wouldn’t have had any other time to release it. he would’ve had to release it in the fall of ‘21. if that were the case all the makeup would’ve expired.

For the non artist fellas over here, black is a color that in theory is made by mixing equal parts of blue and brown. Since gray is black and white, depending on how the black is made (the ratio between blue and brown can vary) and the gray tone becomes way different. For instance there’s noticeably more cool toned grays and more warm toned grays. The first one comes from a black that has slightly more blue and the second from a black that has slightly more brown. U can notice this too in straight up black, but it isnt as easy. Thats why theres such a bug range of grays. Once u start noticing all the different tones of grays on ur day to day ur whole perspective of the color changes a lot!

Blue Blood was also shaped like a coffin (at least the top was). Also the promos pics for that collection had him in a casket. I get how it can come off insensitive, but makeup production takes a long time. Once everything is good to go and it gets to the distribution center the clock starts ticking. While I was watching I thought of an idea. Some beginners in makeup are scared to do certain things with makeup. So I was thinking a video "facing your makeup fears" would be so nice in the community. I don't know if this has ever been done. Where you can show how to blend and that its ok to go bright or dark with colors and respond to peoples makeup fears from your audience and help them figure out how to do it better. Give them direct advice that they ask about. 💕
Adventurestuckk Kelli Marissa has done some makeup videos showing how you can create looks to play with if you are not adventurous with makeup (like me).

We also have consider that that person affect may have lost some recently due to the virus and seeing this probably makes them feel worse. I am not a Jeffrey Starr (spelling?) fan or follower. However, this palette is gorgeous and there is always going to be someone ready to complain about something and others who will jump on the bandwagon. It’s quite simple, you don’t like it? Don’t buy it. We have become a society that seems to feel like we can dictate to others based upon their own feelings. It’s unrealistic and absurd.
I love how she's honest and doesn't lie and states what she really thinks.
Especially about J* products cus everyone seems to tiptoe around his ass.

I’m not offended but the reason people are is they have family members that likely died recently. And a lot of time they don’t realize creators like jeffree spend more than months working on it. They likely thought he started and sent it out during the pandemic.
