@Giridhar Yes dear, not only this guy. Many of our foes were earlier from our community only. Because till Iran we used to have Siva Vishnu Buddha worshipers. In fact I don't see much of a difference in the way how an average rural Iraqi and average Indians look. So much of history was wiped off. That is the western Asia part. I really appreciate this man. The beauty of what he does is, he doesn't call names or point fingers - just presents the facts and lets the listeners make their own conclusions. Not to forget the depth of his scholarship. Such a welcome change from the days when a right-wing commentator without a bunch of cuss-words, or dumbed-down phrases etc. would be hard (or rather impossible) to find.
I really hope my north Indian friends take the time to listen to him and understand what he's saying.
I am a Muslim-Pakistani living in the USA. My dad was from India. I guess whatever the guest explained is based on facts. India was a great country and it was divided by British to break its power in sense of its volume and population. What happened? East Pakistan fell down in 1971. The remaining part is always under army regime even if there is a democratic government. Now, Pakistan stands no where and crumbling down even after 75 years.
Where the question of dragging Britishers into it, they only fuel the concept for their own benifit. After all Khilafat movement wasn't initiated by them.
The division didn't start with the British but by other invaders I will not name.
I agree with you, Hindustan has a rich culture roots back in centuries. There is another aspect, it was not only invaders who reached out to outlanders. The migrants due to increasing population moved from one part of the world to another. The rich countries are the destination of individuals, students, businesses and traders. I remained student of psycology and sociology. One of main problem with individual human mind and collective human mind is that any past 'success' make them to repeat that success pattern; it becomes sort of holy grail for that individual/group. Thats why when some one achived suceess say by running a grocery shop, he cant leave it even after subsequent failure as it has deep impirnt of past success on his mind. He try to repeat the successful experiment of past shop at some other location. He ignored all warnings and signs that grocery shops cannot earn so much now due to arrival of large departmental stores. What psycology tell us that "everyone is imprisoned in his past success, if there is any"
In case of muslim rulers they mobilised armies on basis of religion (instead of moden day nationalism), they are prison of the thought that religion/Islam is the way to achieve success as it has given so much successes in past in nearly half of whole world. In the end they continue to rule India for 800 years with their negligible population. Its such a big success that coming out of it is not easy. If one revese it, one can understand better. Lets say hindus have conquered half of world and converted quarter of world to hinduism through mobilisation on basis of sanata dharam and following Bhagwat Gita, they surely (as per psycology subject) would have beeen behaving like shah wali ullah.
What I want to say is that blame gaming is of no use, every one is prisoner of its psycology. It takes new experiments to learn new ever changing reality. Secondly dont learn history in isolation, it is to be read with lot of other subjects as in the end we all are human beings and subjects like mass psycology, sociology, human geopgraphy, economics are 'must' to make any meaningful analysis of history. If no subject is read especially without psycology, we can only create hate in current society for the acts of people died hundreds of yeras ago who were prison of their past successes. For true understanding holistic approach is necessary.

I haven’t read anything on shah waliullah dehlvi but if this person is correct in describing his Views then what a great scholar of Islam he indeed was. Great think ahead otherwise Muslims in this region would be Muslim by name only. Even today we have too many darbars and other type of non Islamic activities which people link to Islam already. It was very important to set out the need to ensure that Muslims in this region were closely linked to Islamic culture rather than Hindu culture.
That is precisely the idea that has been infiltrated by the likes of Dehlvi and Wahab. It is the fact that the phrase of 'listen to the Prophet' was used as a machine gun to justifying all sorts of hadiths as 'obligatory' instead of 'fair reasonable personal judgement' which was also part of the Quran.
This separatist argument is even worse in Hinduism!
If Mr Dalavi started the Hindu-Muslim separate culture argument in the 17th century, The Indian Rishis started the caste based cultural separation of the original native people of India at least 3000 years ago! These existing separatist norms were codified and written into Hindu laws by King Manu and his Brahmin royal court around 300 BC - The Draconian Manusmriti! They said sudras were born from the foot of the Gods and hence made these untouchables worthless working class.
Even now, in many temples of India, they are not allowed to enter the inner sanctum by the Brahmin priests. All the Hindu organisations of India including RSS, VHP, Hindu Mahasabha, bajrang dal, Hindu Yuva morcha etc are all still manned by Vedic Brahmins (I would not call them educated)! There is no place for the sudras in the inner sanctum of these Hindu organisations.
Even the youngsters these temples take to train for the pujari post are Brahmins. Why this contempt for the sudras? Why is it that members of Brahmin community who ran the Hindu religion all these millenia, still not incorporating sudras into the main stream of Hinduism?
Mind you, we the sudras never had a motherland or Bharat mata until Gandhiji's and Nehru's congress allowed it. Until then we were all slaves who were not allowed to own anything including the Gods. So, how can we trust these Gods who only stood by the Brahmins and other upper castes while our ancestors were brutally persecuted using the very rules of Hinduism that Sai and his fellow Brahmins are trying to bring back.
Both Sai and Smriti must definitely have heard the recent announcement by Swami Nischalanada, the Sankara acharya of Puri. Few weeks ago, he supported the caste system and said it is the contribution of Brahmins!
So like Sai, who is not willing to trust muslims because of Dalavi and his followers, the sudras will also have difficulty to trust Vedic Brahmins who created, perpetuated and still allow caste discriminations to continue especially in areas of worship.
Hate mongering will only open up old wounds and make modern day compassionate human beings to ruthless cave men and even savage animals! No peace and prosperity will come out of unforgiving hatred! There are more Hindus suffering at the hands of fellow Hindus. Hinduism will do well if it can address its own still bleeding centuries old fault lines!

When listening to Sai and people like Anand Ranganathan, Vikram Sampat etc., I am reminded of the saying "the pot calling the kettle black". These people blame the Muslims for destroying the temples and want revenge. The Muslim atrocity only happened for a few centuries. In contrast, the Hindu religion prevented the untouchables from entering the temples for millennia, even though these temples were built with the blood and sweat of the untouchables. It amazes me how these people can come on the media and accuse others when their ancestors did these things for millennia and still do in many villages of India with callous contempt. Its a shame that Smitha does not challenge these one-sided arguments.
