@Khyalo Ki Duniya there have been papers that say a person is born into a wrong body hence they should transition to the other gender/sex. Or even better, some papers suggest there are as many gender as many there are people on the planet. Would you believe that? You can’t take every study on face value. You need to know the political motivation of the person who performed it, you need to look at how they quantify stuff and reached the conclusion. Vikram Sampath is very right when he says "For the kids in school the story of her country is shown as a third person as of it belongs to some other nation" I always thought about it whenever I reflected back on the history I studied in school (NCERT) It clearly created my thought process that "British were good for India & Mughals were even better" simply based on the information in the textbooks glorifying British (indirectly) and Mughals Directly as well as most of the teachers doing the same. Later on in life I found out about the reality and about the barrage of misinformation it was I was shocked & felt sad for the younger ones still studying the same misinformation in Schools. Again blessed to hear the other side of the stories bcoz i remember I amd my friends diacussing that our history does not feel like our history.. obviously we weren't that mature to contemplate at that time but certainly few years ago we used to have this talk.. Sardesai quite obviously can't have a discussion without masala. He tried his best between Tharoor and Sampath to fight but that's the difference between intelligence and ignorance. Sampath and Tharoor have differing views but respect each other's perspective and to some extent understand why they hold those views and find them valid. On the other hand, Sardesai is your basic neighborhood aunty who just wants gossip and to witness fighting. No moderator was needed to be honest.
I could not have said it better. Rajdeep is not a good moderator. Period. Moderators typically ask probing questions, and let the experts share their views. Their class comes through in their silence. Rajdeep is instead a voluble, poorly informed man who loves his own voice. @Khyalo Ki Duniya there have been papers that say a person is born into a wrong body hence they should transition to the other gender/sex. Or even better, some papers suggest there are as many gender as many there are people on the planet. Would you believe that? You can’t take every study on face value. You need to know the political motivation of the person who performed it, you need to look at how they quantify stuff and reached the conclusion. Then only you can believe a study in this day and age.
Vikram Sampath is very right when he says "For the kids in school the story of her country is shown as a third person as of it belongs to some other nation" I always thought about it whenever I reflected back on the history I studied in school (NCERT) It clearly created my thought process that "British were good for India & Mughals were even better" simply based on the information in the textbooks glorifying British (indirectly) and Mughals Directly as well as most of the teachers doing the same. Later on in life I found out about the reality and about the barrage of misinformation it was I was shocked & felt sad for the younger ones still studying the same misinformation in Schools. So proud of Vikram Sampath for shedding some light of truth about our "Pyara Bharat" & giving a befitting reply to the "Brown Angrez" monopoly in the country and creating a bright hope for future generations.

You can see in his dialogues that he truly has no political motivations and honestly wants Indians to acknowledge their history, move on and build a better future. Dr.Tharoor, you have finally met your match :) let's not forget that the reason why history is getting politicised today is because as Dr.Sampath says, we haven't had closure. Even German students learn in detail about the atrocities of Hitler and the holocaust, it only helps them to come at peace with their past and not hold it against anyone. And if you support denying the truth to Indians, you are only risking the future of this country further, from more grave polarisation or communalism. And if the history of my country has to rely on such shaky bandaids, then you're also underestimating the constitutional secularism. If you want to open up the mediaeval era then you would have to be neutral in your approach and understand a thing that not all battles were between two religious beliefs. The history of clashes between north eastern tribes and how the present day north east is the way it is will tell you that not all battles were religious. India is a multi religious, multi ethnic country. Anyone trying to talk about past clashes is filled with malice
