I just saw this. The tesliden you showing pts in holy shock. thats a nono since dbl dream wont stack with holy shock. It's a better build is go holy freeze with dbl stack dreams to get holy shock since synergy skills work for both, So you be doing cold, lightning and phy damage with just 6 poiints in zeal not counting + skill gear - almost 12k on hit Use act2 Blessed aim merc, you only do magic shield no dex all in vit... my current holy freeze with dreams I do 18k damage per hit with both aura pulsing the 1 shot almost anything in nm only have to use sword in hell

@@dimitriusvoldun8031 Yep max holy freeze and the synergies and resist lightning, few point into zeal, using blessed aim merc, if you get a warscepter cta with + 3 holyshield, then thats taken care of....Both the aura going same time its kills everything screen away in normal and nightmare..about two aura hits in hell to kill most. Has for raw swing damage its 18k frost damage and 12k lighting damage + massive phy damage from grief. if your on east my pally name is HealaryBuff

I adjusted my build (as I'm still going through Normal on my Paladin), and even just putting single points into abilities (except Zeal which got 4 for the max hits), things started dying MUCH faster. The Resist Lightning also makes life easier where I'm at in Act 2 because of the beetles.
have you looked at the unique bow Wizendraw? With perfect roll and a cold facet you can get -40 to enemy cold resist. Very cheap and strong alternative to Ice

You can Do a more budget tesladin that is pretty efficient. crescent moon, spirit, griffins or any +skill helmet, maxing holy shock and its synergies, zeal 5 points minimum and maxing holy shield. A point in smite and and black runeword, and you can do uber's with random res gear. Was my first uber killer. Still needs infinity usually but much cheaper than greif and 2 dreams and infinity.
Dear Dbrunski, I have been watching your videos for a while and I am really happy to see you divert from the meta builds :) There are three alternatives I would like to add - that are also a bit more cheap than most of what you show in this video. First, a physical kicksin (instead of using rift) is a viable strong build if stacking on cb - it can even do ubertrist. With Azurewrath, there's no problem with immunities either. Second, an elemental melee assassin is actually pretty strong. She has access to AoE damage with multiple elements, good crowd control and with the shadow master, there's a better Merc. With two Bartuc's, that's already +6 skills just from the weapon slots. Third and cheapest, maybe not viable for high player numbers but a lot of fun - a Strafezon with Witchwildstring and Atma's. Triggering AD often really helps the damage and adding slow or knockback on the equipment makes for a very interesting play style. Maybe you'll feel like doing one of them :D Or someone from the comments who doesn't have the necessary items for your builds :) Keep up the nice streams :)
those are some amazing budget options (: I have an azurewrath kicksin and can confirm it kicks ass. swap to Fleshripper for bosses and it absolutely owns! (tho I guess the regular kicksin IS a meta build, and probably one of the best uber runners). currently building a MA sin with no traps so I guess I'll try your dual bartuc suggestion.
You could also combine 2x Dragon and 1x Hand of Justice runewords to get a level 44 holy fire out of it - would not recommend it tho - way too expensive
I loved your list, and personally played 3/5 of the builds listed, and can agree about that they are all crazy strong and fun ones. I give you another, probably even less known build: melee full synergy proc bear necro (no idea if it has a name or not). Use Oath/Brand as main weapon to proc bone spears/spirits, use Bone RW armor to have an autocast fully synergized Bone Armor and use Beast on switch to transform. Pair it with all the %DR you can get and abosrbtion items for just about complete PASSIVE immortality. Damage comes from a mix of physical damage from autoatacks and max synergy procs, you ignore manaburn. AR is problematic, and to solve that a 1% AR/character level + deadly strike crafted helmet is near mandatory in my opinion (or if you don't want to get into crafting that one, go with Crown of Ages, as it is a ridiculously strong defensive option for this build or just plain old G-face). Metalgrid and Raven Frost highly recommended. You don't need skillers so charm setup should cover for FHR/resists and a bunch of melee dps charms. A lt of unorthodox gear combinations become viable, because you don't rely on any +skiller items. A fun part about the build is that if you fine tune it, and are confident in its passive deffenses, you can start dropping VITA to up DEX or STR to begin to stack up on the dps side of things. It won't result in the craziest power level, but building it and seeing it working in action worths it, for me at least :)
should also add. A simple weapon swap in stash on those bear sorcs = she can become a zeal sorc wit passion pb :p. Ofc you cant zeal in bear form but you can use the same sorc since zeal sorcs use the exact same skill points and almost the same gear (dual dreams and lightning skiller gcs n max light mastery/enchant/fire mastery). A good 2 for 1 deal
I used to run tesladin that used crescent moon phase blade back in the day.. The physical dmg really sucks tho. How about using stormlash? I mean that ctc static field is really nice if you want to do serious aoe dmg on it

Have the vision? Make it work!
Once had a Near Immortal Physical/Elemental Damage Tank Concentrate Barb build that consists of ZERO runewords. Upped Shaftstop Mesh Armor Upped Crainte Vomir Espandon Two Upped Mosers Shield (One with 2 perf diamonds, One with 2 Sol Runes) Upped Rockstopper Sallet with a Sol Rune Draculs Gloves Gore Riders Raven Frost and a Blue 5 Damage reduce and 11 Resist all ring A Blue "Life Everlasting" amulet with 13 resist all and 24 Damage reduce. Verdungos Belt Max points to concentrate, BO, Sword Mastery, and Shout, Remaining points go to Natural Resist. One point to berserk All in all it hit max damage reduce to 50% A further flat 53 damage reduce. So if he gets hit for 500 damage, it gets reduced to 197. Decent resistances in Hell. Max block and just above 12k defense with concentrate and shout. 3.2K to life I also have alternative gear for those gloams and Uber Mephisto: Guardian Angel with an Um rune and complete Irathas Set with a wisp projector ring. I got 95 resists to all in Hell Difficulty with these and those gloams barely do anything to my health :D Now this build obviously isn't gonna break clearing speed records. Its meant to be a tank in party play. Lord de Seis and his mob buffed with Fanaticism cant hit him easily. And if they do they hardly make a dent on his health. Once lifetap procs he's basically unkillable no matter how many are hitting him. Crainte Vomir is a banger sword with a 10% damage reduce mod and the ability to slow enemies and reduce defense every hit. Making it a viable tool against bosses You can up the damage output if u want by adding a Grief PB as his main weapon. And alternatively you can get battle cry as a debuff to enemies and bosses.
About 2 years ago, I reinstalled D2 and played through Normal difficulty one time. Don't have any interest in playing more for the foreseeable future. I have no idea what it is about these videos I find so entertaining, but I keep watching....
The same reason people like watching the sports channel, without playing the sport themselves. You want to see somebody that put a lot of effort and time in something, but not necessarily invest time and effort in it yourself. p.s. Bear sorc is the most fan build in one of my categories.. If going to pvp.. Go for Lighting/ thunder storm max, then lightning pierce, and enchant fire, This is absolutely monster With gems of LIGHTNING pierce on socket helm etc.
When i used to eat/sleep/dream d2 back in the early 2000s I made pretty much everything. One of the most fun characters i made was a bowassin using kuko shakaku and atmas scarab. I got her to 91 on hardcore before some random spear girl champion killed me in act 1 hell lol.
I've made a maul werebear druid with botd in an eth thundermaul. Tops at 15k dmg with a might merc and even higher with a fellow Pala for support. 5k health. Got some small resistance and attack rating problems but it is so fun to play. With botd you get both max dmg and max attack speed. Then treachery for even more attack speed
There are so many amazing "niche" builds in D2 - I loved so many of them. I think I played nearly every possible character, even if up to a5 NM and stopping. I really enjoyed my sorc with enchant/zeal using passion. Tornado/hurrican druid was also very fun (not just pvp). My all-strength Barb with BOTD GPA was probably my favorite though. I cleared out 8-player pit easily. So freaking fun!

Once I made a Whirlwind assassin with Chaos runeword on a claw, that was fun an unorthodox. Altho I had to stack a lot of crushing blow and deadly strike to makeup for the claw average dmg.
Where is the caster palladin? Palladin specking into minus resist, equiping it with chance to cast a spell items, then using zeal to maximize the chance to castspells.
Hey Db, great video. Quick question: I heard that when using Plugy (which uses version 1.13), the auras from both Dream runewords do NOT stack because that was only added in patch 1.14. Can you confirm? Thx mate
Every build you said was expensive. They all necessitate the use of multiple high runes and typically an infinity as well. Are there any characters outside of a Blizz sorc that are good on a budget because that seems to be the only character I can start ladder with and feel strong.
Hammerdin is always really easy. Spirit sword and shield are very cheap in runes, the shield and sword can be harder to get. But by NM difficulty, Pally shields will be possible to drop with 4 sockets. I want to say any crystal sword that drops in normal cows gets 4 sockets max, so you could cube socket one or use a precious socket quest on it. Often, after a couple days of ladder, people already have Hoto, so you can get a 4 socket sword for a perfect gem or a low tune in trade. If you learn how to cast a couple hammers then run to another casting spot, you can do Chaos sanctuary runs very easily. An act 2 merc with holy freeze or prayer can help you stay alive. You can also get pretty good drops from Chaos in NM as well, as you level up and replace gear.
You can try the kicker build with cheaper gear too. Make Black (or Crescent moon for static procs) into a fast weapon base and put on some crushing blow items (Gorerider boots and Gface if you can get 'em). Run around kicking things and dropping death sentries. You can farm hell pretty well with the help of burst of speed and a tele staff.
I played a Strafezon with the Brand runeword back in the day. Was a very fun build and I shot bonespears faster than a necromancer :-) Produced a lovely sound as well. Oh, and it was good damage as well

Nice! My favorite is tesladin. Very versatile build. Can farm everywhere and physical immunities is not a problem. Best one if you personally use your conviction aura skill instead of fanaticism.
Interesting how names change even after the games lifespan. As far as i remember. The dual dream zealer was know as a dreamer paladin. In the days when tesla was only know for his competition against edison
The german diablo Forum (the one with all the calcs) had meleesorc threads since classic, also they played their dreamsorces as tanks with only dream helmet to kill fire immune monsters and a shaeld stormshield.
@@sazger enchant and warmth, warmth synergiezes enchant. Fire mastery double Dips enchant, when you cast it and when you attack while enchanted. You can Shop for a 2 socket +3 enchant staff to socket it with tir ral? For +6 enchant precast, thats around 3K fire dmg per meleehit. There is a runeword that gives you zeal, put that in a 4s phaseblade and you have a firey zealsorc and 60 points spent. E: the german Forum used lightdmg small charms and lightmastery to get a second element, or dream helmet if you have the money. You also need +4 ALL skills to get zeal to lvl 5

Hey Dbrunski, I have a serious question about mf. Have you ever noticed some strange behavior while having a certain amout of mf stacked? Me, I'm running a lot of AT just like you. Recently, I found another 6mf sc and thus upgraded my gear to 617mf. But immediately it seemed that the quantity of drops decreased drasticly. After almost 2h of finding almost nothing I decided to get rid of the sc and went back to 611mf. Suddenly, my drop rate has increased again and remained stable. Could it be that there is some sort of algorithm or some kind of weird calculation that decreases resulting drop rates on certain mf values? This is not the first time I noticed something like this. It also happens when I change my gear to double ISTed Alibaba and stacking 776mf. Same result => drops rate decreases. Players difficulty is always set to 7 - I did not change it. Any explanation?
Items drop is totally random, the more player, the more items on the floor (more players = less "no drops") ; then about MF, the game choose in this order : is it unique ? yes/no, is it set ? yes/no, is it rare ? yes/no, is it magic ? yes/no.. etc, so the more MF, the more unique and sh*t you'll get. There is however a big diminishing return, being at 200% mf compared to 0 is far better than 600 compared to 400 for instance. you just were unlucky, MF is only benificial (provided you can still kill quickly enough your enemies) Watch this graph diablo2.diablowiki.net/images/9/97/Magic-find-diminishing-returns.jpg peace
Ignore Valentin G and read this first. The answer you’re looking for: You are aware of MF diminishing returns? If you have 1000 MF, only 200% goes toward uniques. So going from 611 to 617 maybe didn’t increase your actual mf by a whole percentage point (assuming mf is like other D2 things and there’s a breakpoint; although mf could work on decimal points, ie you went from 178 mf to 178.4) Think about it this way (I don’t have the diminishing returns chart in front of me, so these are awful guesses): Since a total of 600 mf only gets you 182 mf toward uniques because of diminishing returns, increasing to 603 mf might still calculate to 182 mf for uniques, you maybe need to hit 609 mf to hit 183 mf. Antinewbie, here’s where you’re just wrong though, and now you should read what Valentin said. more mf didn’t hurt you unless you’re talking extremely long term, as in more mf slowed your killing and it took a week to do 1000 runs, whereas you could do 1100 runs a week before the change. More mf is always better unless it slows down your killing. You can clear AT a hundred times before any quality of diadem drops, let alone the unique version. You need to do thousands and thousands of runs before you have any idea about drop rates.
Guys, I am totally aware of this graph for almost 20 years now. Besides many characters I had multiple characters from lvl 97 to 99 in clesed B-net. I also completed the task to bring my sorceress to lvl 99 in single player while missing only 10 items on my holy grail. I probably spent way more than 20.000+ hours in this lovely game. I eat and breath D2. Trust me, I know how magic find works and I also know how the game determins item drops - at least in theory and thats my point. Source code for D2 got lost. Therefore we are left with all we know about mf without knowing source code's details. All I'm saying is that I recognized irregularties while stacking a certain amount of mf. All we know so far is that the quantity of all item qualities increases in a logarithm scale while stacking more and more mf. And yes there is a point where its way more effective to improve farming and kill speed than mf. But how are things calculated exactly? The only input parameters we know are number of players and % mf. The rest we dont know about. Maybe there are some specific constellations of those inputs that lead to unexpected results. Maybe something similar as buggy Baal xp on players 4-8 (you are always limited to get the xp of player setting 3). Besides my previously mentioned intentional decreasing of mf, I also tried decreasing player settings. And it had basically same results => number of good quality drops had increased again. Honestly, it seems that I can trigger it intentionally. Of course there is always luck involved. Maybe this is the reason that nobody spent time in doing more research on this because the result "no drop" was explained by "no luck". But what if not? What if there is a broken calculation? I already talked to other players who made similar experiences.
@@antinewbie The fact is that you don't NOTICE irregularities when stacking certain amounts of mf. You upped your mf then did a few runs? A couple hours? That’s nothing when you’re looking for extremely rare items. Another reason you’re very wrong is that you are talking about items based on how good/useful they are, not how rare they are. See below about Shako. Off the top of my head, a Shako is about a 1 in 1000 drop from hell Meph. This is a big deal when ladder resets on bnet and everybody wants them. At a speed of about 5 min a run, it can easily take 2 weeks to find one. And then you could get “lucky” and find another 5 min later. That’s how random number generators work, especially when low probability events are considered. 2 weeks to find a Shako, but that’s still not rare, because Meph can’t drop items like Crown of Ages. Here’s an analogy. Let’s say you have a coin (a penny) that lands heads 51% of the time and tails 49% of the time. If you flip this coin exactly 100 times, it is very unlikely that you will get a result of 51-49. You have to flip this coin thousands and thousands of times to get data telling you that it’s a 51-49 coin. Now, add in a 50.5 to 49.5 nickel, a 52 to 48 dime, a quarter, half dollar, silver dollar, and flip them simultaneously. Now, since you’re going with your gut feeling that your flips aren’t 50/50, you can’t record the data, you just have to feel it. And this is where you are with your belief that your drops changed. And instead of just two outcomes- heads versus tails, you’re talking about unique items that drop once a month, if ever. For example, I’ve played a lot of D2. I’ve found exactly 1 Zod rune. I’ve found 1 crown of ages. I’ve found 2 cranium bashers, but they were both within a week at the start of a ladder a couple years ago. You should look up “Crec plays diablo.” He does 10,000 pit runs over the course of a couple months then ID’s the rarest drops in two ~10 min videos. It really gives you a feel for the rarity of some items because he’s getting about 10 elite kills per run, for a total of 100K drops. According to the drop rate calculators, some of the rarest items have a chance to drop of 1 in 20K or 30K. And he finds a couple of these items. Even then, it’s still not a large enough sample. As you can see because he finds one of this, but four of that. You’re assuming that mf was coded so that exactly 654566 mf finds all the loot whereas 654567 mf finds nothing. If it was as easy as having exactly “X” mf and find all the loot, botters on bnet would have stumbled onto this precise number years ago. Do us all a favor and never get a job in math, statistics, and probability related things. Don’t play the lottery, and never try to claim divine intervention. Ever hear the story about the guy who woke up, drove to work, drove home, and nothing exciting happened to him that day? You probably didn’t, but that happens to millions of people every day. However, I bet you heard the one about the ONE guy who got up, grabbed coffee on the way to work with a $5 bill, and used the change from his $2 coffee to buy a lottery ticket, and won $100 million dollars. It’s called confirmation bias.

Secondly, I got a Masters degree in electrical engineering and I am working for a big German automotive supplier - trust me I know about math. Thridly, I'm playing about 20h D2 per week in average. I'm doing thousends of AT runs by myself. So I also know what it means to have a bad luck streak. Fourthly, by talking about "good quality items" I did NOT mean "rare/useful items with high value" such as coa or griffons etc. I was referring to uniques and sets in general. I never referred to drop odds of those super rare items. Thus, I'm also well aware that I will probably never find Tyrael's Might. Back in the days there was no expansion set. D2 started with classic. Means less items, no runes, no charms, no gull dagger. I think it was impossible to stack more than 500mf. Thus 9 bits were enough in the code to store the mf value of any character since it can represent all values between 0 and 511. Games could not afford to waste memory because they had to fit on CDs. That days it was well common that multiple stats were saved within the same variable or even splitted into 2 or more variables. That is also the reason why you can wrong warp in Super Mario World for SNES. Again, D2 source code got lost and we don't know for sure. Do you know about modulo operator? It basically returns the rest of a quotient. Examples: 7 mod 4 = 3; 7 mod 7 = 0. Maybe they used it in a strange way to calculate outcomes. Also since unique/set/rare/magic drops behave logarithm compared to mf value there is a good possibility they did not use logarithm operator. Maybe they did an approximation like this one to save code again: planetmath.org/approximationofthelogfunction For sure they had to adjust mf formula at least with release of LOD since it was possible to stack way more mf than before LOD. Maybe it has some bugs. And unless you can't show me the original source code you can't disproof me. This should be the end of the discussion. By stacking my mf to 617 and set players to 7 I can barely any uniques and sets - not even low values. But when I switch to players 1 or reduce my mf to 611 I am immediatly able to find uniques and sets again. Since last week I tried it for another 10 hours (each setup 5 hours). Same results. Barely uniques and sets at 617 mf p7 compared to 1-2 uniques/sets per run at 611 p7. Since I came over this I reminisce my road to 99 on single player. As my gear went better and better I also found more and more 7mf scs. But I also noticed that the unique and set drops (of non Baal mobs) were almost non-existent after like 2 or 3 mf upgrades. But when I changed mf again, uniques and sets start to pop everywhere again. I didn't take it too serious that time because I also thought this is just bad luck. But now I think differently. Maybe I'm wrong but maybe not. This is my observation and I have talked to 3 more people that made similar experiences. And btw there was no need for botters to have specific mf value. Reason 1: HRs are not affected by mf. Reason 2: Almost all bots ran Baal and Diablo. I do not refer to act boss drops. I did refer to champions and boss packs. I really doubt bots had way more than 300 mf. They where almost all equipped equally with some minor mf differences. Their goal was to farm safely with speed and not to stack mf. Also the number of players was never consistent since its not possible to change player settings. Thus they mabe never recognized something like this.
My most crazy char I had years ago was a WW assasin. But that was mostly for duels :D But super fun and nearly unbeatable with maxed mind strike + flame trap + and lightning trap was a deadlock for every opponent if it was a annoying boner necro or holy fist pala. Just stun lock them and kill them with mind strike xD Otherwise you killed other opponent with whirlwind and maxed out poison dmg. Very fun to play and very rare seen ;) Try it. Maybe you can make it work great in PvE as well.
I dunno if I'd call a tesladin running 2x Dreams and Conviction aura niche. Now running a tesladin build from before the introduction of Dream, that would be niche. Though I will say I've tried using a Doom zerker ax (with maxed Resist Cold Aura) in conjunction with the 2x Dreams and lvl 25 Conviction on my tesladin (so he becomes a FrostShocker...?). Seems to do about equivalent damage as using a Crescent Moon (Grief is for squares), but offers much more crowd control. Downside is you lose the Static Charge procs, so for Lister and boss killing it's CM everyday.
In single player circles it tends to be pretty rare sight thanks to the difficulty of getting those Jah runes (and Dream being kinda low priority item). I imagine people play it a lot more online when you can just trade for them.
You can run a Tesladin where you use holy shock as your main aura. You can use this character while leveling and id argue it's more powerful than the other versions with high end gear too, instead of 2x dreams you use exile and griffons. Life tap, defiance aura and a lvl 40 holy shock aura from an inventory with skillers + the -res from griffons, both you and your merc is basically unkillable and you're doing even more lightning damage than the dream version. On the odd occasion you run into a lightning immunity that can't be broken with infinity you can just put 1 point into fanaticism aura which will be around lvl 20 from gear and inventory and swap auras accordingly.
Something you might try on the tesladin is instead of using a grief, use a 6os phase blade with 6 light facets. Expensive as hell, but it has better output imo
I prefer to play the fire claws as a werewolf. Yeah the attacks are 1 frame slower, but it's still an absolute single target dps overkill. And you can set one hard point into Fury and put a ribcracker on 2nd weapon slot and it's basically r.i.p fire immunes.

Riftsin is reasonably cheap and the kicker builds tend to do well with budget gear thanks to crushing blow and death sentry doing a lot of the heavy lifting.
Sicktoid the runes didn’t seem bad but it seems like every build needs an infinity and I only have an ebugged fort so far. Infinity is tough on single player but so is nightwings
These builds do look fun, but it's just... so damn expensive for people who do not bot or play this for a living. I'd love to try these, but even by playing a good 20 to 30 hours a week, I still can't get my hand on so many crazy uniques, runes and solid bases. Good video though! If you’re playing single player, you can use item generators. If you play online, there are enough botters that you just have to have things like 8 perf rubies or 10 thul runes when someone is offering a high rune for your pile of junk. Write out a cheat sheet of what junk you have on which mule so you can find it when you need to. Pay attention to what items people want in trades. A runeword base you think is junk might be extremely valuable to another person. A hammerdin with spirit shield and sword is cheap and can definitely solo chaos sanctuary. Redemption aura after some kills is an easy way to stay alive. Obedience/insight are cheap mercenary runewords that can make your killing easy. And there are plenty of people who donate items. Gheeds + chancies + Travs won’t slow your killing and gives you “enough MF.” Medium mf %s can be rares for quite cheaply. Shako is also easy to get. You just have to be efficient in the way you use your playing time. Focus on big monster packs and don’t sweat it if you miss a few stragglers. Always kill minion and champions. Teleporting to Meph with a Sorce isn’t very productive if you don’t have high mf and good gear. The tele time is a waste if you don’t have a map hack to show you the way. An item find barb versus travincal is a great investment too. Magic damage reduction and fire absorb are easy ways to make the hydras not do any damage to you.
20 to 30 hours are week are really enough to get most of what he has if you are playing PlugY too.You are probably not farming efficiently.If you are playing Singleplayer with PlugY its all about knowing what item you want knowing wheres the highest chance to get it and the right player difficulty.As for runes its not as fast as getting shako or stormshield from mephisto but you can reliably farm Lower Kurast on players 7 and cube the Sur/Bers that drop. BtNeanderthal recently started his holy grail on Hardcore on Singleplayer plugy and did like what 200-250runs a day in Lower Kurast and got his enigma in a month or so maybe less didnt keep track.But 20 to 30 hours of gameplay a week are more than enough to get items in plugy even in Battlenet where Chris already told you can find fast and good deals.
Great video but this just reminds me of how much more I prefer classic D2. The enigma and high end, (nearly impossibly obtained without duping) runewords is something I never like playing or seeing
@@Dbrunski125 the Assassin rift build i use it with fortitude and works good, i know that enigma is very practical to move faster from danger, but i don´t really trust in the teleport skill because you can be badly stopped and die with ease, good video and keep like this
Cool stuff! Digging back onto the books, a WW sin, Werebarb, and Martyr are also great fun! One of my all-time favorite builds is the concentrate titan barb - easily dealing out one hit kills, and quickly destroying super uniques and bosses. The ice bowzon was actually relatively popular for PvM back in the early days, but the skills got a nerf (I think by 1.10? Can't remember, might have been 1.09d...) still a very powerful character. The fire bowzon is also loads of fun. My personal favorite is the strafer. Sadly, 1.10 hurt the avenger build with all the synergies. It was a fantastic build up to that point. I may try a new version at some point...
I just finished a SC p8 avenger. Its workable but you may want to get something like death or rift for some AoE since vengeance is single target and that hurts. Or go HF merc with pride. I used famine in a zerker (so many ort runes) with a faith merc, all p8 and it did fine but it is a slog. If I were to redo it I would likely go ebotd 2 hander.
So there i was... Scrolling through your Playlists and finding this Video. And i love it ☺️ Especially the Rift kicksin is so much worth to play. But... You missed out 2 non Meta chars (at least they werent Meta, when i played d2 back then), that are really fun to play and also are very very effective. In fact more effective than Most people would think. Those 2 are the zeal melee sorc with the rw Passion and enchant and ridiculous zeal ele damage and the whirlwind Assassin with the rw Chaos in her Claws (ofc with the usual Trap support). I'd love if you did a guide to gearing low-level alts for rapid leveling... I'm planning on doing something that's going to require a number of socket quests in single-player, and I'm trying to come up with the best loadout for "self-powerleveling" very rapidly to the socket quests. What gear/charms ect would be effective at getting a character to the end of normal (or even to the end of hell) very quickly and easily?
I assume you’re using pluggy for the shared stash, and have access to most gear. I gotta believe a sorceress is the way to go, and because of teleport, skills, and gear- doing NM and Hell will be faster than redoing normal. For starters, take a higher level character to Norm and shop for some staffs with a low level requirement and good low level skills. Since you’ll be doing NM and Hell, you won’t have Infinity until you’re mostly finished, so Meteor/Orb is the way to go. Although, a lvl 1 req. +3 to charged bolt staff can be great for the first couple levels of a new character because it will make short work of the monsters up to the stony field, and you can go up to Players 3 or so for more exp. I wouldn’t recommend any points in lightning skills, because fireball is the best low level killer, especially with some synergy. Don’t forget you can use your weapon switch for skills like static field and teleport (low level tele kills your mana faster than you can use potions). Stocking up on mana pots is recommended. I’ve always found Arcane Sanctuary is the best place for some exp grinding, From lvl 15 to about 23, especially with the “Players X” command. You waste too much time in tombs backtracking- Arcane you can do out and back.. With a skill like fireball, clearing arcane is really fast. For Orb, I wouldn’t worry about synergy, just get one point into cold mastery. Fireball will be your main killer, and some Meteor if you need a Baal run or two. You might discover that doing just normal and then NM is faster than also doing Hell, but NM will definitely be faster than normal. With all the skill bonuses you can get from gear around level 30, and then Occy + Lidless, NM will certainly be the easiest. If you decide to just redo normal, you won’t need Orb. Low level runewords are your friend. Hopefully you have some good base items (although you can shop for non magic staffs with good skills and cube socket them, hope for 2 sockets for a Leaf). Stealth for mobility and cast rate until you can use Vipermagi. Leaf for a good fireball staff. Spirit sword Memory can be good for a high level (big radius) static field. I really hope you have an ethereal Paritzan for a merc insight. Give him a Twitchroe and Wormskull, and he’s a beast. Socketed Armor with a lot of ias jewels is great after level 31. Uniques: 2 Nagels are a really nice defensive ring, and combined 6 dmg to attackers will kill. Manald once you get there is also nice. Spite of Lazarus on switch for Static field. Nightsmoke belt. Magefist/Bloodfist gloves Peasant Crown helm Vmagi Armor 2 SoJs Viscerataut until Lidless Wall Oculus Eye of Etlich Boots- more R/W and resists are always better. Any rare/crafted circlets, rings, Ammys, boots, gloves you have saved up are great.

Hey you may be able to get your character back if in single player. One thing you could do is go to the Search bar of your Start menu, type up your single player character name, and see if your computer can find it. Worth a try

It's a better build is go holy freeze with dbl stack dreams to get holy shock since synergy skills work for both,
So you be doing cold, lightning and phy damage with just 6 poiints in zeal not counting + skill gear - almost 12k on hit
Use act2 Blessed aim merc, you only do magic shield no dex all in vit... my current holy freeze with dreams I do 18k damage per hit with both aura pulsing the 1 shot almost anything in nm only have to use sword in hell

@@dimitriusvoldun8031 Yep max holy freeze and the synergies and resist lightning, few point into zeal, using blessed aim merc, if you get a warscepter cta with + 3 holyshield, then thats taken care of....Both the aura going same time its kills everything screen away in normal and nightmare..about two aura hits in hell to kill most.

I adjusted my build (as I'm still going through Normal on my Paladin), and even just putting single points into abilities (except Zeal which got 4 for the max hits), things started dying MUCH faster. The Resist Lightning also makes life easier where I'm at in Act 2 because of the beetles.

have you looked at the unique bow Wizendraw? With perfect roll and a cold facet you can get -40 to enemy cold resist. Very cheap and strong alternative to Ice

You can Do a more budget tesladin that is pretty efficient. crescent moon, spirit, griffins or any +skill helmet, maxing holy shock and its synergies, zeal 5 points minimum and maxing holy shield. A point in smite and and black runeword, and you can do uber's with random res gear. Was my first uber killer. Still needs infinity usually but much cheaper than greif and 2 dreams and infinity.
Dear Dbrunski, I have been watching your videos for a while and I am really happy to see you divert from the meta builds :) There are three alternatives I would like to add - that are also a bit more cheap than most of what you show in this video. First, a physical kicksin (instead of using rift) is a viable strong build if stacking on cb - it can even do ubertrist. With Azurewrath, there's no problem with immunities either. Second, an elemental melee assassin is actually pretty strong. She has access to AoE damage with multiple elements, good crowd control and with the shadow master, there's a better Merc. With two Bartuc's, that's already +6 skills just from the weapon slots. Third and cheapest, maybe not viable for high player numbers but a lot of fun - a Strafezon with Witchwildstring and Atma's. Triggering AD often really helps the damage and adding slow or knockback on the equipment makes for a very interesting play style. Maybe you'll feel like doing one of them :D Or someone from the comments who doesn't have the necessary items for your builds :) Keep up the nice streams :)
those are some amazing budget options (: I have an azurewrath kicksin and can confirm it kicks ass. swap to Fleshripper for bosses and it absolutely owns! (tho I guess the regular kicksin IS a meta build, and probably one of the best uber runners). currently building a MA sin with no traps so I guess I'll try your dual bartuc suggestion.

You could also combine 2x Dragon and 1x Hand of Justice runewords to get a level 44 holy fire out of it - would not recommend it tho - way too expensive
I loved your list, and personally played 3/5 of the builds listed, and can agree about that they are all crazy strong and fun ones.
I give you another, probably even less known build: melee full synergy proc bear necro (no idea if it has a name or not). Use Oath/Brand as main weapon to proc bone spears/spirits, use Bone RW armor to have an autocast fully synergized Bone Armor and use Beast on switch to transform. Pair it with all the %DR you can get and abosrbtion items for just about complete PASSIVE immortality. Damage comes from a mix of physical damage from autoatacks and max synergy procs, you ignore manaburn. AR is problematic, and to solve that a 1% AR/character level + deadly strike crafted helmet is near mandatory in my opinion (or if you don't want to get into crafting that one, go with Crown of Ages, as it is a ridiculously strong defensive option for this build or just plain old G-face). Metalgrid and Raven Frost highly recommended. You don't need skillers so charm setup should cover for FHR/resists and a bunch of melee dps charms. A lt of unorthodox gear combinations become viable, because you don't rely on any +skiller items. A fun part about the build is that if you fine tune it, and are confident in its passive deffenses, you can start dropping VITA to up DEX or STR to begin to stack up on the dps side of things. It won't result in the craziest power level, but building it and seeing it working in action worths it, for me at least :)
should also add. A simple weapon swap in stash on those bear sorcs = she can become a zeal sorc wit passion pb :p. Ofc you cant zeal in bear form but you can use the same sorc since zeal sorcs use the exact same skill points and almost the same gear (dual dreams and lightning skiller gcs n max light mastery/enchant/fire mastery).

Raven Frost and a Blue 5 Damage reduce and 11 Resist all ring
A Blue "Life Everlasting" amulet with 13 resist all and 24 Damage reduce.
Verdungos Belt
Max points to concentrate, BO, Sword Mastery, and Shout, Remaining points go to Natural Resist. One point to berserk
All in all it hit max damage reduce to 50%
A further flat 53 damage reduce. So if he gets hit for 500 damage, it gets reduced to 197.
Decent resistances in Hell.
Max block and just above 12k defense with concentrate and shout.
3.2K to life
I also have alternative gear for those gloams and Uber Mephisto:
Guardian Angel with an Um rune
and complete Irathas Set with a wisp projector ring.
I got 95 resists to all in Hell Difficulty with these and those gloams barely do anything to my health :D
Now this build obviously isn't gonna break clearing speed records. Its meant to be a tank in party play. Lord de Seis and his mob buffed with Fanaticism cant hit him easily. And if they do they hardly make a dent on his health. Once lifetap procs he's basically unkillable no matter how many are hitting him.
Crainte Vomir is a banger sword with a 10% damage reduce mod and the ability to slow enemies and reduce defense every hit. Making it a viable tool against bosses
You can up the damage output if u want by adding a Grief PB as his main weapon. And alternatively you can get battle cry as a debuff to enemies and bosses.
About 2 years ago, I reinstalled D2 and played through Normal difficulty one time. Don't have any interest in playing more for the foreseeable future. I have no idea what it is about these videos I find so entertaining, but I keep watching....
The same reason people like watching the sports channel, without playing the sport themselves. You want to see somebody that put a lot of effort and time in something, but not necessarily invest time and effort in it yourself.

When i used to eat/sleep/dream d2 back in the early 2000s I made pretty much everything. One of the most fun characters i made was a bowassin using kuko shakaku and atmas scarab. I got her to 91 on hardcore before some random spear girl champion killed me in act 1 hell lol.

I've made a maul werebear druid with botd in an eth thundermaul. Tops at 15k dmg with a might merc and even higher with a fellow Pala for support. 5k health. Got some small resistance and attack rating problems but it is so fun to play. With botd you get both max dmg and max attack speed. Then treachery for even more attack speed
You aren’t hitting max speed with just an ebotd thundermaul and it’s 60ias.
There are so many amazing "niche" builds in D2 - I loved so many of them. I think I played nearly every possible character, even if up to a5 NM and stopping. I really enjoyed my sorc with enchant/zeal using passion. Tornado/hurrican druid was also very fun (not just pvp). My all-strength Barb with BOTD GPA was probably my favorite though. I cleared out 8-player pit easily. So freaking fun!
Hey Dbrunski, I'd be very interested in getting a 2.5 update to this video. I bet there are a ton more niche builds you could build with the sunder charms

Once I made a Whirlwind assassin with Chaos runeword on a claw, that was fun an unorthodox. Altho I had to stack a lot of crushing blow and deadly strike to makeup for the claw average dmg.
Where is the caster palladin? Palladin specking into minus resist, equiping it with chance to cast a spell items, then using zeal to maximize the chance to castspells.
Hey Db, great video. Quick question: I heard that when using Plugy (which uses version 1.13), the auras from both Dream runewords do NOT stack because that was only added in patch 1.14. Can you confirm? Thx mate

Every build you said was expensive. They all necessitate the use of multiple high runes and typically an infinity as well. Are there any characters outside of a Blizz sorc that are good on a budget because that seems to be the only character I can start ladder with and feel strong.
Hammerdin is always really easy.
Spirit sword and shield are very cheap in runes, the shield and sword can be harder to get. But by NM difficulty, Pally shields will be possible to drop with 4 sockets.
I want to say any crystal sword that drops in normal cows gets 4 sockets max, so you could cube socket one or use a precious socket quest on it.
Often, after a couple days of ladder, people already have Hoto, so you can get a 4 socket sword for a perfect gem or a low tune in trade.
If you learn how to cast a couple hammers then run to another casting spot, you can do Chaos sanctuary runs very easily. An act 2 merc with holy freeze or prayer can help you stay alive.
You can also get pretty good drops from Chaos in NM as well, as you level up and replace gear.
You can try the kicker build with cheaper gear too. Make Black (or Crescent moon for static procs) into a fast weapon base and put on some crushing blow items (Gorerider boots and Gface if you can get 'em). Run around kicking things and dropping death sentries. You can farm hell pretty well with the help of burst of speed and a tele staff.
I played a Strafezon with the Brand runeword back in the day. Was a very fun build and I shot bonespears faster than a necromancer :-)
Produced a lovely sound as well.

Fire Claw druid can reach 6 FPA with eBOTD Giant Tresher. Way more accessible than eTomby. (or 5 FPA with a 3shael non eth tomby is an option too)
Nice! My favorite is tesladin. Very versatile build. Can farm everywhere and physical immunities is not a problem. Best one if you personally use your conviction aura skill instead of fanaticism.
Interesting how names change even after the games lifespan. As far as i remember. The dual dream zealer was know as a dreamer paladin. In the days when tesla was only know for his competition against edison

The german diablo Forum (the one with all the calcs) had meleesorc threads since classic, also they played their dreamsorces as tanks with only dream helmet to kill fire immune monsters and a shaeld stormshield.
How can you kill things with a melee sorc?
@@sazger enchant and warmth, warmth synergiezes enchant. Fire mastery double Dips enchant, when you cast it and when you attack while enchanted. You can Shop for a 2 socket +3 enchant staff to socket it with tir ral? For +6 enchant precast, thats around 3K fire dmg per meleehit. There is a runeword that gives you zeal, put that in a 4s phaseblade and you have a firey zealsorc and 60 points spent.
E: the german Forum used lightdmg small charms and lightmastery to get a second element, or dream helmet if you have the money. You also need +4 ALL skills to get zeal to lvl 5
@@daath912 interesting, okay. Didn’t know there was a zeal runeword. That was my major question, how the sorc would attack more than one target at a time. Plus with a team the fire enchant would boost everyone. Course fire immunity would pose a problem

I really would like to see a Nova Sorc without merc. You can put Infinity into a low str base and then just pump those numbers up. Not the strongest, ngl, but so much fun

Unfortunately the nature of the game makes it so that only the strongest builds (like blizz sorc etc) are viable with easy to acquire gear

Rabies druid is my favorite. Got it up to roughly 50k psn dmg a few months ago. Did decently against hell cows.

Hey Dbrunski, I have a serious question about mf. Have you ever noticed some strange behavior while having a certain amout of mf stacked? Me, I'm running a lot of AT just like you. Recently, I found another 6mf sc and thus upgraded my gear to 617mf. But immediately it seemed that the quantity of drops decreased drasticly. After almost 2h of finding almost nothing I decided to get rid of the sc and went back to 611mf. Suddenly, my drop rate has increased again and remained stable. Could it be that there is some sort of algorithm or some kind of weird calculation that decreases resulting drop rates on certain mf values? This is not the first time I noticed something like this. It also happens when I change my gear to double ISTed Alibaba and stacking 776mf. Same result => drops rate decreases. Players difficulty is always set to 7 - I did not change it. Any explanation?
Items drop is totally random, the more player, the more items on the floor (more players = less "no drops") ; then about MF, the game choose in this order : is it unique ? yes/no, is it set ? yes/no, is it rare ? yes/no, is it magic ? yes/no.. etc, so the more MF, the more unique and sh*t you'll get. There is however a big diminishing return, being at 200% mf compared to 0 is far better than 600 compared to 400 for instance. you just were unlucky, MF is only benificial (provided you can still kill quickly enough your enemies)

The answer you’re looking for: You are aware of MF diminishing returns? If you have 1000 MF, only 200% goes toward uniques. So going from 611 to 617 maybe didn’t increase your actual mf by a whole percentage point (assuming mf is like other D2 things and there’s a breakpoint; although mf could work on decimal points, ie you went from 178 mf to 178.4)
Think about it this way (I don’t have the diminishing returns chart in front of me, so these are awful guesses):
Since a total of 600 mf only gets you 182 mf toward uniques because of diminishing returns, increasing to 603 mf might still calculate to 182 mf for uniques, you maybe need to hit 609 mf to hit 183 mf.
Antinewbie, here’s where you’re just wrong though, and now you should read what Valentin said. more mf didn’t hurt you unless you’re talking extremely long term, as in more mf slowed your killing and it took a week to do 1000 runs, whereas you could do 1100 runs a week before the change.
More mf is always better unless it slows down your killing.
You can clear AT a hundred times before any quality of diadem drops, let alone the unique version. You need to do thousands and thousands of runs before you have any idea about drop rates.
Guys, I am totally aware of this graph for almost 20 years now. Besides many characters I had multiple characters from lvl 97 to 99 in clesed B-net. I also completed the task to bring my sorceress to lvl 99 in single player while missing only 10 items on my holy grail. I probably spent way more than 20.000+ hours in this lovely game. I eat and breath D2. Trust me, I know how magic find works and I also know how the game determins item drops - at least in theory and thats my point.
Source code for D2 got lost. Therefore we are left with all we know about mf without knowing source code's details. All I'm saying is that I recognized irregularties while stacking a certain amount of mf. All we know so far is that the quantity of all item qualities increases in a logarithm scale while stacking more and more mf. And yes there is a point where its way more effective to improve farming and kill speed than mf. But how are things calculated exactly? The only input parameters we know are number of players and % mf. The rest we dont know about. Maybe there are some specific constellations of those inputs that lead to unexpected results. Maybe something similar as buggy Baal xp on players 4-8 (you are always limited to get the xp of player setting 3). Besides my previously mentioned intentional decreasing of mf, I also tried decreasing player settings. And it had basically same results => number of good quality drops had increased again. Honestly, it seems that I can trigger it intentionally.
Of course there is always luck involved. Maybe this is the reason that nobody spent time in doing more research on this because the result "no drop" was explained by "no luck". But what if not? What if there is a broken calculation? I already talked to other players who made similar experiences.

The fact is that you don't NOTICE irregularities when stacking certain amounts of mf. You upped your mf then did a few runs? A couple hours? That’s nothing when you’re looking for extremely rare items. Another reason you’re very wrong is that you are talking about items based on how good/useful they are, not how rare they are. See below about Shako.
Off the top of my head, a Shako is about a 1 in 1000 drop from hell Meph. This is a big deal when ladder resets on bnet and everybody wants them. At a speed of about 5 min a run, it can easily take 2 weeks to find one. And then you could get “lucky” and find another 5 min later. That’s how random number generators work, especially when low probability events are considered. 2 weeks to find a Shako, but that’s still not rare, because Meph can’t drop items like Crown of Ages.
Here’s an analogy. Let’s say you have a coin (a penny) that lands heads 51% of the time and tails 49% of the time. If you flip this coin exactly 100 times, it is very unlikely that you will get a result of 51-49. You have to flip this coin thousands and thousands of times to get data telling you that it’s a 51-49 coin. Now, add in a 50.5 to 49.5 nickel, a 52 to 48 dime, a quarter, half dollar, silver dollar, and flip them simultaneously. Now, since you’re going with your gut feeling that your flips aren’t 50/50, you can’t record the data, you just have to feel it. And this is where you are with your belief that your drops changed. And instead of just two outcomes- heads versus tails, you’re talking about unique items that drop once a month, if ever. For example, I’ve played a lot of D2. I’ve found exactly 1 Zod rune. I’ve found 1 crown of ages. I’ve found 2 cranium bashers, but they were both within a week at the start of a ladder a couple years ago.
You should look up “Crec plays diablo.” He does 10,000 pit runs over the course of a couple months then ID’s the rarest drops in two ~10 min videos. It really gives you a feel for the rarity of some items because he’s getting about 10 elite kills per run, for a total of 100K drops. According to the drop rate calculators, some of the rarest items have a chance to drop of 1 in 20K or 30K. And he finds a couple of these items. Even then, it’s still not a large enough sample. As you can see because he finds one of this, but four of that.
You’re assuming that mf was coded so that exactly 654566 mf finds all the loot whereas 654567 mf finds nothing.
If it was as easy as having exactly “X” mf and find all the loot, botters on bnet would have stumbled onto this precise number years ago.

Secondly, I got a Masters degree in electrical engineering and I am working for a big German automotive supplier - trust me I know about math.
Thridly, I'm playing about 20h D2 per week in average. I'm doing thousends of AT runs by myself. So I also know what it means to have a bad luck streak.
Fourthly, by talking about "good quality items" I did NOT mean "rare/useful items with high value" such as coa or griffons etc. I was referring to uniques and sets in general. I never referred to drop odds of those super rare items. Thus, I'm also well aware that I will probably never find Tyrael's Might.
Back in the days there was no expansion set. D2 started with classic. Means less items, no runes, no charms, no gull dagger. I think it was impossible to stack more than 500mf. Thus 9 bits were enough in the code to store the mf value of any character since it can represent all values between 0 and 511. Games could not afford to waste memory because they had to fit on CDs. That days it was well common that multiple stats were saved within the same variable or even splitted into 2 or more variables. That is also the reason why you can wrong warp in Super Mario World for SNES. Again, D2 source code got lost and we don't know for sure. Do you know about modulo operator? It basically returns the rest of a quotient. Examples: 7 mod 4 = 3; 7 mod 7 = 0. Maybe they used it in a strange way to calculate outcomes. Also since unique/set/rare/magic drops behave logarithm compared to mf value there is a good possibility they did not use logarithm operator. Maybe they did an approximation like this one to save code again: planetmath.org/approximationofthelogfunction For sure they had to adjust mf formula at least with release of LOD since it was possible to stack way more mf than before LOD. Maybe it has some bugs. And unless you can't show me the original source code you can't disproof me. This should be the end of the discussion.
By stacking my mf to 617 and set players to 7 I can barely any uniques and sets - not even low values. But when I switch to players 1 or reduce my mf to 611 I am immediatly able to find uniques and sets again. Since last week I tried it for another 10 hours (each setup 5 hours). Same results. Barely uniques and sets at 617 mf p7 compared to 1-2 uniques/sets per run at 611 p7. Since I came over this I reminisce my road to 99 on single player. As my gear went better and better I also found more and more 7mf scs. But I also noticed that the unique and set drops (of non Baal mobs) were almost non-existent after like 2 or 3 mf upgrades. But when I changed mf again, uniques and sets start to pop everywhere again. I didn't take it too serious that time because I also thought this is just bad luck. But now I think differently. Maybe I'm wrong but maybe not. This is my observation and I have talked to 3 more people that made similar experiences.
And btw there was no need for botters to have specific mf value. Reason 1: HRs are not affected by mf. Reason 2: Almost all bots ran Baal and Diablo. I do not refer to act boss drops. I did refer to champions and boss packs. I really doubt bots had way more than 300 mf. They where almost all equipped equally with some minor mf differences. Their goal was to farm safely with speed and not to stack mf. Also the number of players was never consistent since its not possible to change player settings. Thus they mabe never recognized something like this.
My most crazy char I had years ago was a WW assasin. But that was mostly for duels :D But super fun and nearly unbeatable with maxed mind strike + flame trap + and lightning trap was a deadlock for every opponent if it was a annoying boner necro or holy fist pala. Just stun lock them and kill them with mind strike xD Otherwise you killed other opponent with whirlwind and maxed out poison dmg. Very fun to play and very rare seen ;) Try it. Maybe you can make it work great in PvE as well.
I dunno if I'd call a tesladin running 2x Dreams and Conviction aura niche. Now running a tesladin build from before the introduction of Dream, that would be niche.
Though I will say I've tried using a Doom zerker ax (with maxed Resist Cold Aura) in conjunction with the 2x Dreams and lvl 25 Conviction on my tesladin (so he becomes a FrostShocker...?). Seems to do about equivalent damage as using a Crescent Moon (Grief is for squares), but offers much more crowd control. Downside is you lose the Static Charge procs, so for Lister and boss killing it's CM everyday.
In single player circles it tends to be pretty rare sight thanks to the difficulty of getting those Jah runes (and Dream being kinda low priority item). I imagine people play it a lot more online when you can just trade for them.
You can run a Tesladin where you use holy shock as your main aura. You can use this character while leveling and id argue it's more powerful than the other versions with high end gear too, instead of 2x dreams you use exile and griffons. Life tap, defiance aura and a lvl 40 holy shock aura from an inventory with skillers + the -res from griffons, both you and your merc is basically unkillable and you're doing even more lightning damage than the dream version. On the odd occasion you run into a lightning immunity that can't be broken with infinity you can just put 1 point into fanaticism aura which will be around lvl 20 from gear and inventory and swap auras accordingly.
You should swapcast kick on kicksin. It can at least double your damage. Also using an exploit that is easy to learn and easy to setup, is kinda fun.
what about zeal sorc?
Something you might try on the tesladin is instead of using a grief, use a 6os phase blade with 6 light facets. Expensive as hell, but it has better output imo
And then you look up the runeword “Crescent moon” and wonder what you just wasted your time and resources doing with a 6 facet phase.
I prefer to play the fire claws as a werewolf. Yeah the attacks are 1 frame slower, but it's still an absolute single target dps overkill. And you can set one hard point into Fury and put a ribcracker on 2nd weapon slot and it's basically r.i.p fire immunes.

I'd say riftsin or bowazon. Tesladin works with cheeper equipment too
Riftsin is reasonably cheap and the kicker builds tend to do well with budget gear thanks to crushing blow and death sentry doing a lot of the heavy lifting.
Sicktoid the runes didn’t seem bad but it seems like every build needs an infinity and I only have an ebugged fort so far. Infinity is tough on single player but so is nightwings

These builds do look fun, but it's just... so damn expensive for people who do not bot or play this for a living. I'd love to try these, but even by playing a good 20 to 30 hours a week, I still can't get my hand on so many crazy uniques, runes and solid bases. Good video though! If you’re playing single player, you can use item generators.
If you play online, there are enough botters that you just have to have things like 8 perf rubies or 10 thul runes when someone is offering a high rune for your pile of junk. Write out a cheat sheet of what junk you have on which mule so you can find it when you need to. Pay attention to what items people want in trades. A runeword base you think is junk might be extremely valuable to another person.
A hammerdin with spirit shield and sword is cheap and can definitely solo chaos sanctuary. Redemption aura after some kills is an easy way to stay alive. Obedience/insight are cheap mercenary runewords that can make your killing easy. And there are plenty of people who donate items. Gheeds + chancies + Travs won’t slow your killing and gives you “enough MF.” Medium mf %s can be rares for quite cheaply. Shako is also easy to get.
You just have to be efficient in the way you use your playing time. Focus on big monster packs and don’t sweat it if you miss a few stragglers. Always kill minion and champions.
Teleporting to Meph with a Sorce isn’t very productive if you don’t have high mf and good gear. The tele time is a waste if you don’t have a map hack to show you the way.
An item find barb versus travincal is a great investment too. Magic damage reduction and fire absorb are easy ways to make the hydras not do any damage to you.
20 to 30 hours are week are really enough to get most of what he has if you are playing PlugY too.You are probably not farming efficiently.If you are playing Singleplayer with PlugY its all about knowing what item you want knowing wheres the highest chance to get it and the right player difficulty.As for runes its not as fast as getting shako or stormshield from mephisto but you can reliably farm Lower Kurast on players 7 and cube the Sur/Bers that drop.
BtNeanderthal recently started his holy grail on Hardcore on Singleplayer plugy and did like what 200-250runs a day in Lower Kurast and got his enigma in a month or so maybe less didnt keep track.But 20 to 30 hours of gameplay a week are more than enough to get items in plugy even in Battlenet where Chris already told you can find fast and good deals.

@@Dbrunski125 the Assassin rift build i use it with fortitude and works good, i know that enigma is very practical to move faster from danger, but i don´t really trust in the teleport skill because you can be badly stopped and die with ease, good video and keep like this

Digging back onto the books, a WW sin, Werebarb, and Martyr are also great fun! One of my all-time favorite builds is the concentrate titan barb - easily dealing out one hit kills, and quickly destroying super uniques and bosses.
The ice bowzon was actually relatively popular for PvM back in the early days, but the skills got a nerf (I think by 1.10? Can't remember, might have been 1.09d...) still a very powerful character. The fire bowzon is also loads of fun. My personal favorite is the strafer.
Sadly, 1.10 hurt the avenger build with all the synergies. It was a fantastic build up to that point. I may try a new version at some point...
I just finished a SC p8 avenger. Its workable but you may want to get something like death or rift for some AoE since vengeance is single target and that hurts. Or go HF merc with pride. I used famine in a zerker (so many ort runes) with a faith merc, all p8 and it did fine but it is a slog. If I were to redo it I would likely go ebotd 2 hander.

But...
You missed out 2 non Meta chars (at least they werent Meta, when i played d2 back then), that are really fun to play and also are very very effective. In fact more effective than Most people would think.
Those 2 are the zeal melee sorc with the rw Passion and enchant and ridiculous zeal ele damage and the whirlwind Assassin with the rw Chaos in her Claws (ofc with the usual Trap support).
Is there a way to make interested in them, so you could make vids? Do you even know about them? 😅

I'd love if you did a guide to gearing low-level alts for rapid leveling... I'm planning on doing something that's going to require a number of socket quests in single-player, and I'm trying to come up with the best loadout for "self-powerleveling" very rapidly to the socket quests.
What gear/charms ect would be effective at getting a character to the end of normal (or even to the end of hell) very quickly and easily?
I assume you’re using pluggy for the shared stash, and have access to most gear. I gotta believe a sorceress is the way to go, and because of teleport, skills, and gear- doing NM and Hell will be faster than redoing normal. For starters, take a higher level character to Norm and shop for some staffs with a low level requirement and good low level skills. Since you’ll be doing NM and Hell, you won’t have Infinity until you’re mostly finished, so Meteor/Orb is the way to go.
Although, a lvl 1 req. +3 to charged bolt staff can be great for the first couple levels of a new character because it will make short work of the monsters up to the stony field, and you can go up to Players 3 or so for more exp. I wouldn’t recommend any points in lightning skills, because fireball is the best low level killer, especially with some synergy.
Don’t forget you can use your weapon switch for skills like static field and teleport (low level tele kills your mana faster than you can use potions). Stocking up on mana pots is recommended.
I’ve always found Arcane Sanctuary is the best place for some exp grinding, From lvl 15 to about 23, especially with the “Players X” command. You waste too much time in tombs backtracking- Arcane you can do out and back.. With a skill like fireball, clearing arcane is really fast.
For Orb, I wouldn’t worry about synergy, just get one point into cold mastery. Fireball will be your main killer, and some Meteor if you need a Baal run or two. You might discover that doing just normal and then NM is faster than also doing Hell, but NM will definitely be faster than normal. With all the skill bonuses you can get from gear around level 30, and then Occy + Lidless, NM will certainly be the easiest. If you decide to just redo normal, you won’t need Orb.
Low level runewords are your friend. Hopefully you have some good base items (although you can shop for non magic staffs with good skills and cube socket them, hope for 2 sockets for a Leaf).
Stealth for mobility and cast rate until you can use Vipermagi.
Leaf for a good fireball staff.
Spirit sword
Memory can be good for a high level (big radius) static field.
I really hope you have an ethereal Paritzan for a merc insight. Give him a Twitchroe and Wormskull, and he’s a beast. Socketed Armor with a lot of ias jewels is great after level 31.
Uniques:
2 Nagels are a really nice defensive ring, and combined 6 dmg to attackers will kill.
Manald once you get there is also nice.
Spite of Lazarus on switch for Static field.

Magefist/Bloodfist gloves

Hey you may be able to get your character back if in single player.
One thing you could do is go to the Search bar of your Start menu, type up your single player character name, and see if your computer can find it. Worth a try
