    I've been using Leatherman multi-tools for home & work for about 25 years. Never had a failure despite putting some through a beating. Just find one that meets your needs and go. For mer personally, the only must have feature is knife access from the outside (ie. without having to open right up). I currently use a Skeletool as my lightweight carry and a Surge for work - no regrets (although are getting a bit $$$). Sharp blades all.

    I've bought the Signal 2 years ago, and it's still one of my essential carry everyday.

      I'm lookin to get a sturdy, but light multitool. Is it heavy in the pocket?

    Outstanding content as always Tyler, and some fantastic options for edc multi tools. I have personally used my Leathman Wave at work almost everyday for a decade now, in conjunction with the ratchet extension over the past few months and I must say it's been a fantastic addition. Thanks again for sharing with us all!

      How strong is ratchet extension? I'm looking to make my motorcycle toolset more compact and a lot of the bolts I want use are torqued anywhere from 17 to 45. Has the ratchet extension handled the abuse?

    Great review, just wanted to point out that what you called the bottle opener on de Rebar tool, is actually a can opener. Its got a sharp tip so you can puncture a can and slowly work your way around the edges. Bottle openers usually have a different angle and unsharpened edge. Thanks for the good work!

    I decided on the WINGMAN when it came time to buy a multi-tool. My preferred feature is the ability to use the locking knife and scissors without unfolding the tool.

    Whatever I do, I always end up with the Surge in my pocket, in it's leather sheath and tiny upgrades (has a diamond file to swap the blade and a small 10mm wrench...yes, seriously and it gets used!).
    I dislike the serrated blade on it! The shape and serration work really well! But the steel used (420HC) just doesn't hold up and sharpening it properly is a nightmare... I think I will try to replace it with a second blade carrier because I do use the file a bit more often than I thought. Or maybe find some type of fine blade that fits in it...
    The perfect leatherman would be the Surge with titanium body, 154cm steel tools and a hammer likte the Signal...I'd pay premium for it!

    The Leatherman Rebar is the best Leatherman multi-tool. The Rebar is the best balance of cost, lightness, and robustness. Comparing it to the Wave+, for instance, The Wave+ and bit kit costs the same as two Rebars! I'd rather have two Rebars than one Wave+. Having to buy and carry bits for the Wave+ only adds to the cost and to the weight. Moreover, the scissors on the Wave+ are basically useless for anything but for thread snipping.

    I’ve got the Wave for personal EDC and the Surge for work EDC.
    I sold my Charge TTi (regret).
    Been looking at another that I could EDC instead of the wave. Should I grab a Free P# or wait for the next line up? Thoughts?

    For me, its the Charge+...It would be really nice if Leatherman would listen to their customers and offer this in a greater variety of G10 and stonewashed or blackwashed tools. The upgraded steel on the knife is greatly appreciated as well. Seems like the company refuses to listen or just does not get it.

      While i agree, many can't justify nearly $200 on a multitool. There is also a strong argument for the skeletool line based purely on ease of carry.

    I don't know. The Quality of Leatherman is not that good. I would buy a victorinox swisstool. U will see the difference.

    • @zepedrofd
      @zepedrofd ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I have both, a Victorinox and a Leatherman (the biggest of each brand). The Victorinox has a better steel and is more refined in construction. That said, it is not a tank like the Leatherman! I love the Victorinox but as a multitool, I carry the Leatherman...
