I remembered playing the T77E1 and got a bias moment from surviving a bomb that was very close to me and no I didn't have temporary invulnerability. A pretty good spaa as well. I also remember that I killed a biplane over 1000m away while capping A.
well 50 cal was create for that use and it had see succes already on us fighter plane and in other spaa whit 2 or 40 50 cal so adding 6 will just make it better
i've been using this as a sort of logistics/support role in 6.7, I just go with a bunch of allied tanks, repair them if they're hit and defend the advance from enemy planes. There was even one time where I was (literally) pulling a Tiger II out of the frontlines while providing cover fire against enemy light tanks
I wish that planes would get a different BR for ground than air, cause even with the new SPAAs US still really struggles with achieving any sense of air ruperiority, or even parity, from 5.0 and up.
@@AHSValor yeah wtf, dont disagree that there should be more capable and a larger variety of types of spaa to counter high altitude slow things at a low br but not in the name of (non-)lacking air superiority. just not overbr'ing spaas for not dying to cas (ie skink and kugel after its nerfs) would go a long way, generally spaa shouldnt be flat out outranged passively either (like overpressure especially goofily allows with ease). giving slow vehicles like the QF 3.7 RAM their irl proxy (as variants without AP shells ig) and adding new ones as "flak buses" while also letting timed fuses work like AHEAD with some inaccuracy based on crew skill to make them dangerous for small and fast planes and lethal (with some sustained fire especially) to large, high altitude slow ones.
really wish they'd stop allowing cas that can just completely outrange spaa passively and would stop moving spaa up cause its stealthy, slightly survivable or long range enough to actually be a deterrant/threat to pilots that dont even bother avoiding spaa (ie m247 being nerfed and moved up for no justifiable reason, instead of other spaa being added to compete, being as large and slow as the york you'd think it might be fine for it to function as an spaa without being moved up to get flatout outranged by what its supposed to counter). then again its probably never going to change seeing as how russias "super spaa" everyone whines about (and which is hilariously capable in comparison to other spaa but its russia so ofc they get the best by far. though the best in this case just means pilots cant be practically afk) can still easily be avoided and effectively outranged while still being the size of a house and useless on the frontlines. things like the lancaster and pe8 (and 45mm aphe slingers, rocket slingers too) are effectively uncounterable if the pilot isnt brain damaged. for the ability to outrange and/or easily dodge while only having to be on target for a second at 2-3km. and theres plenty of interesting options for fixing atleast some of it, making timed fuses work like AHEAD but slower and crew skill based for accuracy (which'd only really affect hitting small quick targets), adding more vehicles like the QF 3.7 RAM which is supposed to have proximity fuse as it did irl. stop overtiering awful platforms for not dying to a rocket in the same postal code (skink and kugelblitz after its many nerfs, or take its apcr away but let it be at a reasonable br where it can react fast enough at all). and for christs sake let 155mm proximity have its realistic radius or an adjustable one, as it stands its only 3m, which in itself is workable inspite of the reloads but the fragmentation is barely existant and only in a tiny radius, which pales in comparison to the most basic SAM explosions with half or less of the explosive mass. and the actual trigger radius should be 7-8-12-15 or so meters and easily lethal to a plane further than that but then again they fecked explosions on the 57mm chinese and 40mm proxy years ago and instead of fixing it they just reduced the trigger radius from 8 or 12 to 6 meters (cant remember if it was all in the name of balance but please unfuck em and move them up if they need to be).
