Not the worst just the hardest to play they require skill, trigger discipline for the ammo count as well as aim and not shooting 800m to a km out, and of course positioning
I feel like the Condor is worse for its tier than the Lancaster. At least the Lancaster has decent field of fire with its turrets, unlike the abysmal Condor
Love how the J7W1 was made as a interceptor and gijen just classes it as a fighter also the ki-200 sucks 8.7 constantly going against 9.7 jets and the guns while used to be good have ben nerfed into the ground
Along with the J7W1, the P-47N has terrible climb and worse performance than other P-47 variants, its only advantage is a higher top speed which was never really a problem with the other P-47 models anyways.
Just want to clear up why Beaufighter Mk I has 2 different 40 mm guns. It was actually test bed to test which 40 mm gun out of those two is better for service with Vickers S winning over Rolls-Royce Type BH and later being used on Hurricane Mk.IV for anti-tank use at north Africa if I remember correctly. It is somewhat usable at GRB but it is overall more of cool from histical view interesting aircraft (or just meme one) then actualy competetive one.
Another very important point about Yak-17 is that it has a HUGE repair cost for a plane from less than 7.0, the price is same as most of 9.0/10.0 aircraft
So my philosophy for war thunder when I started playing was to spade every plane, until I hit about US Rank 3 and stopped caring about bombers and strike planes. And then I met the F6F-5N and decided that some fighters just aren't worth the time. I've definitely improved substantially since that point (
My recomendation for Lancaster: -Keep your bombload light (even lightest load can kill one base) -keep yourself fast (you are no ju288 but fast enough to get in on slight descend, turn around and get yourself on the edge of never exceed-speed returing while tratind your alt when approprate) -dont change targets after you commit
I played the Firebrand and my first impression was it's okay, not great but fine. The only good thing was the 4 Hispano cannons with a fair amount of shells. Then I got the Firefly FR MK5 which is currently my favourite plane in game. Still think the Firebrand is okay but not great.
Alright, heres my defense of the F6F-5N. Simulator. The radar alone in its bracket wouldn't be that good if it weren't for the quirky little detail called IFF. Without even seeing the people visually, you can already identify and focus in on enemies and ignore the friendlies. You dont have to ever worry about accidentally chasing down a teammate because the radar will tell you. It also gives you your range to your target which is nice for leading the guns.
In defense of the Frenchie: It can really pound ground targets top-down, and VERY small bursts = very good biplane/early monoplane annihilator. But only for maybe 3 kills max.
As much as it pains me to say it, the Seafire FR 47 is a definite contender for the list in my eyes. You take a Spitfire, make it comically heavy, destroying its climbing ability and remove its ability to turn. Oh, also you mess up its flight model and not give it as much HP as it historically had. I love the plane just for how awesome it looks and how it was technically the pinnacle of the Spitfire in general and its last variant, but it's so atrocious to play. The only redeeming factor is that it's kinda fast if you use WEP, but the engine overheats very quickly, requiring a lot of WEP discipline.
Jum funny that some of those planes are pretty damn good in SB, for example de Hellcat with radar, that is hell of a good thing to have in battle, i seeing people using the J7W1 and they are in another level, for sure if you know that the plane can’t dogfight you’re save making it turn
D.371 H.S.9 is not bad, I've grinded the early French tech tree with this and it does the job well, you're in a BR where you face the weakest planes war thunder has to offer, reserves, with their slow speed and fragile structure, and you fight against less than competent pilots who don't understand how complicated air battles are, new players, you only need 5-10 shots to kill your average reserve player, and even if you're uptiered, the pilots aren't much better, because they don't understand the difference between "turn fighters" and "boom and zooms" (The HS9 is a great turn fighter btw cuz its based on a reserve plane), so you'll be running circles around much more sluggish aircraft compared to the HS9 like 109s. But if the opponent is competent, you should be facing against planes with 7.7mm (not including the italians I don't know how they get away with two 12.7mm for reserve) so you may receive a light peppering. While 60 rounds does make you conserve till you go utterly insane, there are airbases, I wouldn't recommend travelling across the entire map, or making long range shots with such limited ammo, but its still a great scramble fighter thanks to its climb rate and decent acceleration if you touch and go on airbases (just max out reload speed in crew skills because you're not wasting your points on G tolerance or repair rank for whats essentially an upgunned reserve plane). TLDR: HS9 is a good plane because your opponents are easy competition. 60 cannon rounds is plenty for 1.3
No rank 8 plane is bad enough to be in a worst list. If we added rank 7 though I wonder what we could come up with. First three that came to my mind are all Phantoms which is my favourite jet irl :/ -F4F of Germany at 11,0(!) which is a phantom with no radar missiles but just 4 rear aspect 20G missiles; A PHANTOM WITH NO RADAR MISSLES FFS -F4C which must carry a gun pod and doesn't have flares yet goes against all kinds of all aspect 30Gs and finally -F4EJ at 11,0 with it's useless radar that won't lock ANYTHING and the worst part is you've to suffer in this plane because it's literally the only rank 7 Japanese plane on the basic tech tree so your only two alternatives are waiting months for squadron F5 or feeding Gaijin by buying the premium F4

please dont talk about history of a plane if you dont know it. Firebrand was Blackburn's (not Hawker's as you refrenced typhoon) second attmpt at combo of naval strike and torpedo aircrafte (frist being Skua that was utterlu useless) That had mussfortune to be shifted around from engine to engine, from role to role. I would say it's in line with fairy firefly with stronger vertical turn (due to really good flaps. It's definitely one of thoose planes that you need to know your flaps usage to get everything out of it. Think more strike aircraft supercobra instead of worse typhoon. Keep speed high flaps on edge of ripping and you will be fine. Also it's suprisingly good at ground battles as a mop- that is kill as many ground targets as you can and do boom and run's on enemy aircfat all day. It has dreadfull supercharging but shere power of the 50l engine (in comparison jug has 43l) can do a lot.
To be fair, mate, the Lancaster wasn’t great IRL. The only reason Harris insisted on it was that it could drop an HC 8,000lb on Berlin. You know, a target that was not really that important anyway.
@@AG9229 I wouldn’t say it wasn’t great irl. It was designed to carry maximum payload and fight at night - it could and did. For its intended role it was fine just not in War Thunder

@@thesnazzycomet Late to the party and just found your channel, love the videos. I subscribed, but I'm going to need a ukelele apology video for the Yak-15/17.
The Lancaster is surprisingly agile, you can use it to buy yourself more time on target. The goal of the 7.7 is to either pilot snipe or set a fire Also bruh, yes fly in a straight line infront of 3 enemies with hard hitting cannons hoping they just ignore you
Me262 Heavy Slow Poor acceleration Slow guns Can’t turn or climb Too high of a br to actually be effective Gets torn apart by Cold War jets that are faster than your guns velocity
Yeah I take issue with you criticising the Avro Lancaster not having a ball turret which was not put on because when you do night time bombing raids, the ball turret is effectively useless when you were flying at night over cities under wartime blackout meaning the the gunner would have very little chance of seeing a fighter approaching from below at night, until it opened fire. Also the Lancaster was built with electronic warfare technology instead being weighted down by a ridiculous number of guns that a B-17 carried LordHardThrasher did a video about why the B-17 was so bad. You will find that a Lancaster is arguably a better heavy bomber than the Flying Fortress
B-29 is a much better pick than Lancaster. For a 7.0 it has weak turrets (only Brownings with low damage and low rotation speed) and no speed, so it can only be played defensively.
planes like the firebrand are why i hate the state of BR placements of planes/tanks in this game. there's no way it deserved to start life in the game at the 5.0 bracket and the same goes for the R3 starting at 3.3
Disagree with the large bomber statement. From experience with the G8N1 and lincoln along with the halifax and sunderland, they had a lot more fun in them than the B17 and, to some extent, the Me 264 and PE8
Especially the G8N1 and Lincoln since not only are they agile, but they at least get decent 20mms as a defense, which makes it easier to deal with planes tanky(G8N1 more tanky) although the bomb load for the Japanese bomber is not as good
I'm rather surprised you haven't mentioned the F4U-1c, the only good thing are the 4x AN/M2 cannons but you still have the 2.7 airframe/engine from the F4U-1a at 4.7. And for my Worst pick the Yak-9p, after playing the very good Yak-3 and the 3p, I got the Yak-9p and it just feels worse than the earlier yaks, you don't turn as well nor are you speedy either. I tried to make it work, but it just frustrates me.
Really F6FN? I thinks, its just overtiered, not fundamentaly shit. My list for 10 literally useless plane: PBJ-1H (the gun OMG), Me163 (the 30mm one), Yak-38M (nonono), Brigand (maybe the worst for me. Cant use for bomb, cant use for intercept), D520, MS410 (no flight performance, no guns), SK60 (rank 3 props are faster than this, you cant do nothing in Air RB, until someone fly direclty to you), Sakeen (just pure suffering)
PBJ-1H - okay, just a mitchell with more guns so its not that bad Me-163 - utter disaster with ruined immersion because you fight mig-21s Yak-38 - don't own it but never seen one do well Brigand - not bad but awkward to decide what you actually want to do with it D.520/MS.410 - generally mediocre/underpar SK60 - I get confused with this and the SAAB.105 so idk Sakeen - Bf-109 at home
Oh hels no, you did NOT just call the Yak-15P one of the worst planes. I ace nearly every game I play in it without reloading. Extremely fast turn, great retention, gains speed quickly, and an absolutely devastatingly powerful gun. You can take out aything short of a bomber in just a couple shots, and it's at a perfect BR to almost never fight other jets so you outrun anything you will fight 99% of the time. This is one of the rare cases where I legitimately need to say 1000% skill issue. Once you learn to aim it's ridiculously powerful. Seriously, I cannot recommend enough to learn how to aim its gun. Easily one of the most fun fighters in the entire game that can be flown in any way you want.
The dewoitine is definitely the best plane on the game and if you think 60 round isn't enough it's a big skill issue... At such a br like this you need nothing more

I can’t remember the name of that stinker with 2 crew members and 0 pen on it’s ONLY ammo type 😂 Seriously whenever I kill someone in a I-Go-Ko I consider it a mercy killing. It’s just beyond rubbish
I'm sad that the shinden sucks so much. I loved it in Godzilla Minus One... Also why didn't Gaijin add the jet version of the Shinden that was planned??? The Shinden itself had two prototypes only and it was still added, so why not also add the jet version????
Well... in ground battles... if there are no players who can hit it, than sure... but I'd say it's the worst bomber in british tree for a reason. It's unable to climb while having no defense (7.7mm is just not enough) leaving you only with ground battles and hope that nobody watches air... or just skip for lincoln and have basically the same thing, but it can climb and defend itself (with nice 20mm), maybe even has more armor, but I'm unable to tell, didn't get hit enough times in it.
@@sgmvideos5175 honestly I hate all bombers I really don’t enjoy playing them so only use them in ground so in ARB I could not tell you what my opinion of it is but in GRB I love it Frequently get 5-6 kills per bomb (12000lb) and often get 2+ bombing runs at its br (5.3)

Can I just have a bit of a short rant on calling bombers bad... If you actually know what you are doing something like the Lancaster is actually more effective then you think, even the 3.3 Yer-2 can be a blast, the list goes on. You need to react and position, it is no different to anything else. Now yes, you shouldn't have too etc etc but this is WT, its not always conventional and thus you work with the cards you are dealt. I am not saying all bombers are redeemed by knowing how to position, how to fly keyboard while manning guns, etc. but it makes a serious difference. Even the act of trying to fight and the resultant baits you can produce is worth it. The M.B162 isn't that bad either, I would even argue the Lancaster is easier to fight with cause of the extra gunner coverage. Truly trash bombers that are worthy of this sort of list are things like the G8N1, Pe-2-1 (probably the worst twin-engine plane in game as far as I'm concerned), Short Stirling (4.7 especially), and so on.
D.371 HS9 BAD??? Because of 30 RPG? With good aim that's 30 kills! I bring it to uptiers like 4.0 and clown on anyone turnfighting me (average WT player)
bro you shouldn't talk shit about frenck 20mm gun plane, I don't play planes a lot but in this thing I holded 5.7 lobbies in fear, getting 2-3 plane kills at every opportunity, and even in air battles this thing sherds everyone (no hate, just joking, i understand that not everyone can 1.5km snipe with those crappy 20mm guns :3 )

Not the worst just the hardest to play they require skill, trigger discipline for the ammo count as well as aim and not shooting 800m to a km out, and of course positioning
Definitely, wise words indeed
I feel like the Condor is worse for its tier than the Lancaster. At least the Lancaster has decent field of fire with its turrets, unlike the abysmal Condor
Yeah the Condor is probably just worse but I wanted less lower tier ones
was surprised the Sakeen didn't make it, but after being reminded F6F-5N and J7W exists, fair point
Love how the J7W1 was made as a interceptor and gijen just classes it as a fighter also the ki-200 sucks 8.7 constantly going against 9.7 jets and the guns while used to be good have ben nerfed into the ground
J7W1 should be first place god i wish it was good
Along with the J7W1, the P-47N has terrible climb and worse performance than other P-47 variants, its only advantage is a higher top speed which was never really a problem with the other P-47 models anyways.
YES The P-47N is also a bit of a struggle and easily the worst one tier for tier, but the J7W1 is way more painful
The P-47N also has much worse gun convergence due to the .50 cals being placed even further out on the wings compared to every other P-47 model.
Shinden should turn like a beast, just by looking at it, its a ww2 delta cannard
So my philosophy for war thunder when I started playing was to spade every plane, until I hit about US Rank 3 and stopped caring about bombers and strike planes.
And then I met the F6F-5N and decided that some fighters just aren't worth the time.
I've definitely improved substantially since that point (
Maybe it’s worth a revisit. Despite what I said you can make it work
My recomendation for Lancaster:
-Keep your bombload light (even lightest load can kill one base)
-keep yourself fast (you are no ju288 but fast enough to get in on slight descend, turn around and get yourself on the edge of never exceed-speed returing while tratind your alt when approprate)
-dont change targets after you commit
I played the Firebrand and my first impression was it's okay, not great but fine. The only good thing was the 4 Hispano cannons with a fair amount of shells. Then I got the Firefly FR MK5 which is currently my favourite plane in game. Still think the Firebrand is okay but not great.
love your video
I got an ace in the F6F-5N very fun good guns, lots of hp, useless radar. Perfect boom and zoomer. Corsairs are better.
Lancaster has the radar bulge but gaijin refuses to give it radar.
the D.371 H.S.9 is a beast in ground with the AP belts
@@WPope there are so many better choices though
Alright, heres my defense of the F6F-5N. Simulator. The radar alone in its bracket wouldn't be that good if it weren't for the quirky little detail called IFF. Without even seeing the people visually, you can already identify and focus in on enemies and ignore the friendlies. You dont have to ever worry about accidentally chasing down a teammate because the radar will tell you. It also gives you your range to your target which is nice for leading the guns.
Just for reference at how bad the J7W1 is, that’s one of the only fighters I feel comfortable turn fighting against in my P-51D-5.
Mustangs are solid
@@leman8626 yeah that things a bit of a drag. I wouldn’t call it bad but all other 5.7 spitfires are superior
11:30 its funny
First three that came to my mind are all Phantoms which is my favourite jet irl :/
-F4F of Germany at 11,0(!) which is a phantom with no radar missiles but just 4 rear aspect 20G missiles; A PHANTOM WITH NO RADAR MISSLES FFS
-F4C which must carry a gun pod and doesn't have flares yet goes against all kinds of all aspect 30Gs
and finally
-F4EJ at 11,0 with it's useless radar that won't lock ANYTHING and the worst part is you've to suffer in this plane because it's literally the only rank 7 Japanese plane on the basic tech tree so your only two alternatives are waiting months for squadron F5 or feeding Gaijin by buying the premium F4
Hey there, really love your videos! And by the way why don't you play toptier? (not that i like it)

please dont talk about history of a plane if you dont know it. It has dreadfull supercharging but shere power of the 50l engine (in comparison jug has 43l) can do a lot.
im aware of who made the Firebrand, I am just saying it resembles a Hawker Tempest
To be fair, mate, the Lancaster wasn’t great IRL. The only reason Harris insisted on it was that it could drop an HC 8,000lb on Berlin. You know, a target that was not really that important anyway.

The Lancaster is surprisingly agile, you can use it to buy yourself more time on target. The goal of the 7.7 is to either pilot snipe or set a fire

Also the Lancaster was built with electronic warfare technology instead being weighted down by a ridiculous number of guns that a B-17 carried
LordHardThrasher did a video about why the B-17 was so bad.
You will find that a Lancaster is arguably a better heavy bomber than the Flying Fortress
B-29 is a much better pick than Lancaster. For a 7.0 it has weak turrets (only Brownings with low damage and low rotation speed) and no speed, so it can only be played defensively.
The Shinden is easily one of my best performing planes. I've never found another Japanese aircraft of comparable BR that I actually like
planes like the firebrand are why i hate the state of BR placements of planes/tanks in this game.
there's no way it deserved to start life in the game at the 5.0 bracket and the same goes for the R3 starting at 3.3
Disagree with the large bomber statement.

16:15 actual worst plane spotted. But I did watch the end of the video where you explain why it’s not there 😉
Really F6FN? I thinks, its just overtiered, not fundamentaly shit. My list for 10 literally useless plane: PBJ-1H (the gun OMG), Me163 (the 30mm one), Yak-38M (nonono), Brigand (maybe the worst for me. Cant use for bomb, cant use for intercept), D520, MS410 (no flight performance, no guns), SK60 (rank 3 props are faster than this, you cant do nothing in Air RB, until someone fly direclty to you), Sakeen (just pure suffering)
PBJ-1H - okay, just a mitchell with more guns so its not that bad
Me-163 - utter disaster with ruined immersion because you fight mig-21s
Yak-38 - don't own it but never seen one do well
Brigand - not bad but awkward to decide what you actually want to do with it
D.520/MS.410 - generally mediocre/underpar
SK60 - I get confused with this and the SAAB.105 so idk
Sakeen - Bf-109 at home
Ive never immediately regretted a purchase more than the f86k
