- The Grain Bin is full which means we have to sell the rest of the corn! If the moisture comes down, we may transfer or add a little more to top the bins off.

CURRENT SCHEDULE
Expect a new video every Sunday and Wednesday at 11AM Central!
How Farms Work by Ryan Kuster is a TH-cam channel based in rural Potosi, Wisconsin. Our mission is to teach those who didn't grow up on a farm what the farming life is like. These videos show the Kuster family working together raising cattle and crops. We believe everyone who wants to know more about farming should be able to share the farming experience with us and we look to educate the world on many essential agriculture topics.
How Farms Work takes place on ~1,100 acres with around 75-200 cattle at any given time. Four John Deere tractors are currently used on the farm, which are a 4020, 4640, 7600, and 8235R.

The doors on the trailer work so good now! Thanks for sharing.
Your photography is outstanding!
Hey, thanks!
Thanks Ryan for another great harvest video and drone footage. I always enjoy the ride along in Big Red 👍
I’d still love to see the harvesters used as dry corn storage. Cheaper than building another bin. In central WI our neighbor buys/takes old ones and is relocating them for grain storage.
Looks like harvest is going well I guess its always a good thing when u don't have enough storage space for the crop
Great Video Ryan, Good to see the harvest system working well, thanks for sharing
These latest videos has Bin excellent 👍🏾 thanks Ryan!
Nice clean grain !!!
Ain't it great running those nice, long, 100 foot +/- rows? You can really make time on them!😂 Great video!
it´s fascinating to me how long corn can stay on the field without getting bad
Last year, I saw some people harvesting in December. (At leat I think it was last year)
I have picked ear corn as late as March, little decline in quality, but deer dinged the yield. But now, ear corn is a relic, and getting shell corn in around 20% is the target, and drying it down to 16% pays back. Go figure
Now that’s a great woman you got there Ryan. She is a keeper. Thanks for all the videos this last week. Great job. Glad your back is getting better. I’m going to be having mine ,next week on mine
Love the filming at night....
thank you
Your videography is great, you're using some tech, the stirring augers, that I hadn't seen before. I used to work for a major corporation at a plant, before I retired over a year ago that had 25 flour silos that feed our production lines. I used to have to argue the maintenance that the dehumidifiers were working just fine, and they weren't the reason the flour lines would back up at times. Our dehumidifiers only dried the space above the flour. We had to rely on the flour coming in at the right moisture levels, almost got into fights over trying to describe their ignorance to them. the dehumidifiers only blew into the air space above the flour to hold down mold growth, and we went thru over a million pounds of flour at our plant a year. Anytime the silo was in use outside ambient air was being blown into a fluidizer bed below so it would flow into the about 10" wide hole at the bottom and be carried away by air pressure being blown thru pipes below rotating auger veins that dropped into the airflow.
Hey Ryan great video as usual. One thing to think about on your trailer. You might consider going to the Wilson strap rather than the direct drive
love the new mic
Best year ever, I broke even!
most years you're working on making a small fortune? :)
Fantastic job 😊😊😊😊
Nice that you got the bins full already😉👍 looking forward to see soybean harvest action again before you get more snow or bad wheather in general.
We haven't finished beans because one field was replanted.

Another episode of watching Hannah do CrossFit! Great to see the corn harvest Ryan and Hannah
No Ryan! No! You can’t just walk up to the 46 already running. We mandatory need to hear it start. Sincerely fan of the Older equipment
Is your blue harvesters in good enough shape to be able to add a leg to them to be able to use them for dry storage?
Hi...i'm always curious about how you "organize" your land. I'm a hillside farmer in Italy and im thinking of making green strips around level curves (clover or alfalfa) to limit erosion. Is that the sense or you have done it according to some laws (wildlife etc). Do you already have a video where you explain that? Keep up the good content!!!
It is usually called contour farming and it is done to control erosion.
Hey Hannah is not a hired hand she is too good
The farms looks so different at the beginning of the video.
I think you should model a new "How farms work" stocking hat!
While harvesting your hand is on a joystick. Are you controlling the height of the header?
It’s got automatic height control. Keeping a hand on the joystick controls your speed
Do you use the Havestor blue Bens for storage of wet corn
Wet corn is what the Harvestores were designed for. But the corn cannot be sold as dry corn and must be used to feed livestock only.
it a good thing when you run out of space that means the corn did great during a drought year which is shocking
I hate when it snows during Harvest time
Thanks Ryan. You know, I have to say, you've been a little corny lately! 😁
👍
At least you don't have to wait on a semi anymore. Are you still thinking about replacing big red?
Every day I drive it! Haha
Hi Ryan, could you tell me why you plant the corn in swathes or strips as you call it interspersed with grass,
Strip farming was popular and encouraged by USDA back in the 80's to slow erosion.
Many thanks, now I understand. Its been a puzzle to me from England over several years of following your chanel@@HowFarmsWork
Guess its time to build another grain bin and add a elevator
🇨🇦
It seems the truck and trailer has earned its keep aye Ryan?

Well, since we don't do social, I guess we won't be able to watch the rest of the story. Oh, well.
