      the newer gmc sierra duramax has a hood scoop and these are required to remove also there was something in the bodyshop that needed one on a Ford. I personally already purchased a matco set over 2 years ago

    For you guys saying these are a gimmick, extra deep sockets in these sizes are ridiculously useful when working on diesels and generators with turbo clamps that are just slightly too long for a regular deep socket and recessed so a wrench doesn't fit very well. I've been wanting Snap-On to make these for a while since I prefer their sockets over CTA.

    Im still waiting on an ultra deep 22mm (and I mean it has to be as deep in proprotions, so 12 inches long? for the vintage Euro truck and bus caging bolt for the brakes)

    • @RipRoaringGarage
      @RipRoaringGarage 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Sid The sloth I know. Brake cylinders are HUGE. About the same in diameter (maybe a hair bigger) but 18 maybe a full 2 feet long. Theyre dual chambers (parking brake acts like car brakes, pushing on the outside along with the spring, and service brake pushing along the opposite end). There are two lines, going to each side of the piston. So to compress the spring, I have to turn that nut all the way. Its very old school design (German designed based on some US WWII tech given to the Germans after the war to rebuild). I do plan on going all geek with this bus, and the weirdness about it (more so since it was built in 1993 and since brand new, it had a MAN flat six...built in 1969. Theres a story how that happened lol)

    • @RipRoaringGarage
      @RipRoaringGarage 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Sid The sloth But bottom line, Im going to have to cut a bunch of 22mm sockets and weld them...and Im not a greak welder.

    Are these new to snap-on? I've been selling two other brands of these for a few years. When I looked to see if snap-on had them a few years ago I could not find them on their site. Looks like they are already out of stock. $329 is not too bad for these. I'm sure everyone wanted a set and that is why are out of stock already.

    Despite deep reach those going to have hex a nut deep ant then just round hole which in turn won’t be any use on non standard stud or over size thread and therefore useless
    Far better option vortex or pas s through sockets
