  • Zoe Kravitz’s directorial debut 'Blink Twice' is nothing short of mesmerizing. The film boasts electrifying performances from Naomi Ackie of 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody' and Adria Arjona from 'Hit Man' while its frantic, disjointed structure weaves an intensely immersive atmosphere of dread.
The plot follows Frida, who, along with her friend Jess (played by Alia Shawkat), is transported to a lavish private island owned by tech mogul Slater King (Channing Tatum). Amidst a backdrop of opulent white attire, champagne-filled poolside moments, and indulgent dining, an unsettling mystery begins to unfold.
In my latest review, I delve into how the film’s innovative editing heightens the sense of terror, explore its commentary on class dynamics, and share why I’m still not convinced by Channing Tatum’s performance.

    East west east west!!
Really enjoyed this one-great review! Love your insightful read of the cinematography and jarring cuts!
On the whole I found this film really captivating, too. Not sure how convinced I was by the ending? But I enjoyed the film’s contradictions. The beauty and the horror. And how successfully it straddled the line between thriller and comedy-how I laughed through my discomfort and felt discomfort when I laughed.

I wasn’t too convinced by the ending either and loved the uncomfortable humor. I can’t wait to see what Zoe Kravitz does next

Scorcese just called me for his next film, and I told him to get in line :)
