That is a recent myth, invented by a couple of modern writers. I explain in the book why that is impossible. The man buried in that Marysville grave had no connection with Black Bart.
Black Bart was a local bandit , holding up at least 4 stages in the surrounding area of Mendocino County , Ca . It’s still a rather lawless area - even more so in his day I suppose
